Kim Kardashian celebrated her 33rd birthday with a bash in Las Vegas last night. But it’s not the reality star turning a year older that’s the focus of celebrity gossip followers these days… it’s the enormous rock sitting on her left index finger! “I think he has the most amazing taste in the world and I think this really proves it,” Kim said of Kanye West and the 15-carat diamond ring he presented to her on Monday night, adding that she “had absolutely no idea” a proposal was in the works. When might a wedding take place? Don’t ask, Kim says. “We haven’t even had a chance to think about [setting a wedding date],” she said. “I’m just so excited and living in the moment.” Kardashian was a lot more open when it came to giving North West a brother or sister, saying she and Kanye “definitely” was another child and gushing over being a mom: “[Parenthood is] everything you could ever imagine and more. She needs her azz whooped. Woman Leaves Aging Mother To Die It’s sad when your mother takes care of you as a child and in her time of need she is abandoned. According to The NY Daily News A Pennsylvania woman who walked away from her aging mother, leaving the 88-year-old mired in feces and without food or water, has been sentenced to prison. Janice Harmes, 67, pleaded no contest last week in Lancaster County Court to a charge of third-degree murder stemming from the January death of her invalid mother, Janet Bastendorf. “It’s inexcusable and reprehensible,” Judge James Cullen admonished Harmes, who claimed she was only honoring her mother’s wish to die at home. “Mom and I had an understanding,” Harmes said in court. “I made a mistake and listened to her.” The judge dismissed her excuses. “This may be a lot things,” Cullen said, according to the Intelligencer Journal of Lancaster, Pa., “but a mistake is not one of them.” Cullen sentenced her to a minimum of six years behind bars and a maximum of 12. The judge also chided her for not taking her mother to a hospital or ordering hospice care. Harmes was her mother’s primary care giver. The elderly woman died from sepsis, a virulent infection caused by an untended bed sore. For the 10 days leading up to her death, Bastendorf had languished in a feces-filled diaper with no access to food or water. Harmes took her mother’s cell phone when she walked out. It’s been a good month for Kylie Jenner. The reality star turned 16 on August 10. She then celebrated the occasion with family and friends at Nobu a couple days later. She also had her rear end kissed by Kim Kardashian on television last night, which followed yet ANOTHER huge birthday party in her honor on Saturday. The Oklahoma tornado death toll has been revised downward as state officials continue to evaluate the massive casualties in the wake of Monday’s event. The medical examiner’s office has lowered the confirmed death toll from 51 to 24, including nine children, though that total may still rise in coming days. Oklahoma medical examiner spokeswoman Amy Elliot said she believes some victims were counted twice in the early chaos of the storm aftermath. The original death toll included 20 children, and some news outlets have reported as many as 91 people were killed by the Moore, Okla., twister. Two elementary schools were in the path of Monday’s tornado, which the National Weather Service gave a preliminary rating of at least EF-4. That categorization entails churning wind speeds of up to 200 mph. Moore Mayor Glenn Lewis and National Guard members told ABC News that search-and-rescue operations at the schools are now recovery efforts. “The walls were just pancaked, absolutely flattened and the students were just grouped together,” Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb tragically told reporters. Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin tweeted late Monday that she visited with search crews. “Appreciate their hard work and tireless dedication,” she tweeted. Fallin has also deployed 80 National Guard members to help with search-and-rescue efforts throughout the city, just outside of Oklahoma City. Authorities said Briarwood Elementary School in Moore received a “direct hit” from the storm and was also destroyed, with its roof and walls blown off. “A lot of parents started walking, running to Briarwood, and when we got up to Briarwood, it had been just completely destroyed,” a Moore resident said. “I’m just happy that I was able to find my son and my family is OK. The scene over there at the school is just catastrophic. I’ve never seen anything like it.” A total of 242 patients, including 58 children, were treated at hospitals. Many patients have been treated and discharged while others have been transferred. Kelly Wells, spokeswoman for the Norman (Okla.) Regional Health System, said lacerations, broken bones, head and neck injuries were common. Moore Medical Center, the only hospital in Moore, sustained major damage from the tornado and was evacuating all its patients to other hospitals. Betsy Randolph of the State Highway Patrol asked non search-and-rescue personnel to stay off the roads so first responders can do their job. “We do still have rescue, search-and-rescue crews throughout this city. Some of the heavily hit areas, they are still searching for people,” she said. “We still have people that are trapped.” President Obama signed a disaster declaration in Oklahoma and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the affected area.
It’s only temporary. That’s what many sources reported – and what many fans hoped – after news broke that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart broke up over the weekend. But it all came to a boil this month when Pattinson blew off a birthday party planned by his girlfriend. Insiders have blamed a number of issues for the split, from the affair itself to Stewart’s moodiness and selfishness . Still, most outlets have made it appear as if the chances for a reconciliation are strong – and, hey, that may still be the case. But today’s news isn’t exactly encouraging.

Since Robert Pattinson has returned from Australia, witnesses have spotted him and Kristen Stewart around often. First, at a bar in Los Angeles . And then at a birthday party for Katy Perry’s assistant. And, according to an In Touch Weekly sources, these sightings have not been an accident: Stewart is doing all she can to salvage the relationship. “Before the thing with [Rupert Sanders], Kristen played hard to get,” Pattinson’s pal tells the tabloid. “Not anymore. She’s going out of her way to prove herself.” How so? She’s hanging out with Rob’s friends , making a point to say hello to Selena Gomez and Perry at the Kids’ Choice Awards last month. She’s going out of her way to interact with fans and even sign autographs in public. She is “ upping Kristen’s style game ,” according to Glamour . Will these changes stick? Will they make a difference? Will they mean that one of those magazine headlines that scream Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are Getting Married might one day come true? Let’s hope so.
