Britney Spears is reportedly still in talks to join The X Factor. It’s unclear if she’ll really end up doing it, but it’s not as far-fetched as it first seemed. According to People , it looks like the gig is more than a remote possibility. “There have been talks” with Spears and her team, a source says “Anything is possible.” Reveals a second source: “I’ve heard they are in negotiations .” Should Spears, 30, fill one of the open judge seats on the reality competition, she would likely slow the rampant speculation about who will join the cast. Janet Jackson and Avril Lavigne have been rumored as well. Last week, a new report suggested Spears wanted $20 million to take the gig and the show balked. “Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes,” Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call last month of Spears. But he wouldn’t confirm anything. “I’ve learned a big lesson: Keep your mouth shut.” Hmm. When Rihanna tapped her abusive ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, to join her on a sexually explicit remix of “Birthday Cake” last month, the music world was shocked. Chatting with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, she spoke about the reasons behind that remix and their other collaboration (on Brown’s “Turn Up the Music”). “I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because [he was] the only person that really made sense to do the record, just as a musician ,” Rih said. “Despite everything else, that was gonna be the person.” “You know, I thought about rappers, [but] the hottest R&B artist right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track,” she explained matter-of-factly. In turn, she agreed to guest on his own remix, she said: “It was a tradeoff. Two records – one for my fans, one for his fans. That way, our fans could come together. There shouldn’t be a divide. It’s music and it’s innocent.” Brown violently assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009, but the two have rekindled at least a friendship since that point, with rumors of more. He attended her birthday party last month, and there’s been talk of the pair secretly hooking up despite his ongoing relationship with girlfriend Karrueche Tran . By Jocelyn Vena Snooki’s $55,000, 3.02-carat engagement ring Photo: Hall/Pena, PacificCoastNews.com When Jionni LaValle wanted to ask his lady love, ” Jersey Shore ” star Snooki , to marry him , he knew exactly where he wanted to go. “She was here a couple months ago, about three months ago. She was here for her birthday, actually, and she was looking for bangles and she was giving him some hints like certain types of stuff that she would like. So, Jionni came in about a couple months ago; he came in looking at engagement rings. He basically came up with certain design that she liked in some of the rings,” Ben Bekdas, the owner of the New Jersey jewelry store, B&B Jewelers, told MTV News. Check out exclusive photos of Snooki and her brand-new bling. Jionni then took it upon himself to pick a ring that he knew Snooki would love. “He designed it. He came a couple weeks ago he finalized it, he loved it,” he added about the ring, which includes 3.02-carat princess-cut diamond in the center of a custom-built band with 2 carats of diamonds around it. It is reportedly worth about $55,000. “She was totally surprised. She had no clue what it was going to look like,” Bekdas said. “She had never seen it put together and he came and totally surprised her.” Now that there couple has a baby on the way and a wedding to plan, Bekdas said they have already started talking about designs for their wedding bands. “I spoke to them yesterday. They’re doing fabulous,” he added. “They’re doing great. He told me he was going to do it at the W Hotel in Hoboken and he was going to do it on the balcony. That he was going to get down on his knees.” Bekdas even gave us some insight into what they are like when the cameras aren’t rolling. “They were talking about [marriage for a while]. They were making comments. Jionni was saying ‘We’ll be getting married.’ I didn’t know that she was pregnant until a few weeks ago but I didn’t say nothing,” he said. “Honestly they’re incredible. For some reason Chris Brown has Rihanna going crazy since they made the Birthday Cake remix together. She’s been going in on Chris Brown’s now girlfriend Karrueche via Twitter lately. Last night Ri Ri tweeted a photo of a pack rice cakes w/ glasses and gold hoops (same ensemble Karrueche usually wears). Karrueche is half Vietnamese and a “rice cake” is a racist remark towards the Asian community. Rihanna is determined to win Chris back and get the other woman out of the picture. Thoughts?
