A young British man has been convicted of manslaughter after killing a gay teen by setting him on fire. Gay British Teen Dies After Being Set On Fire At Birthday Party Via HuffPo reports: The BBC reports that 20-year-old Jordan Sheard has been sentenced to three and a half years in jail for the death of Steven Simpson after pleading guilty to manslaughter charges. Simpson, 18, died one day after sustaining “significant burns” in June 2012, according to the report. Simpson had Asperger’s syndrome, a speech impairment and epilepsy, the Yorkshire Post noted. The teen had reportedly been dared to strip down to his underpants before being doused in tanning oil, after which Sheard set him aflame at the party. Other reports said that anti-gay messages, including “gay boy” and “I love d*ck,” had been found scrawled across Simpson’s body. Detective Sean Middleton described Simpson to the BBC as “a very caring and likeable young man” and a “generous spirit was taken advantage of and a single thoughtless act resulted in his death.” A number of local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates said they believed Sheard’s prison term to be too lenient, but prosecuting attorney Tim Warburton nonetheless told The Star that the sentence was “within the range of what would be expected had it been considered a hate crime,” and that it would not be appealed. “This was a cruel case of bullying based on Steven’s sexuality and disability,” Warburton is quoted as saying. “While we accept Jordan did not intend to kill Steven, his actions did lead to his death.” Meanwhile, Sheard’s attorney said his client had been “deeply and significantly affected by what he has done and the tragic consequences that ensued,” which describing Simpson’s death as a “stupid prank that went wrong in a bad way,” the Daily Mail noted. This is INSANE. 3 1/2 years for killing someone? And how do you drench someone in OIL, then set them on fire without the intent to kill them (or at least seriously maim them)? The friggin UK laws are as deranged and loopy as the US.

Many of the decision’s critics have over the few weeks leading to yester night’s concert questioned the corresponding benefits rlg as a brand would derive in giving out such a huge money to Chris Brown. We’ve heard the guys from rlg mention that Chris Brown would promote their brand via appearing at the sod cutting ceremony and also staging the concert. $1 million may not be huge to Chris Brown and he would probably use it to dye his hair but to a young Africa company established in a poor third world country which sometimes goes to seek an equivalent amount in foreign aid, it surely matters. Few hours to the Chris Brown concert, he showed up in Ghana with a frown face. The organizers were supposed to be the ones carrying the frown face since he failed to show up for the all important unveiling and sod cutting ceremony which the President of Ghana (John Mahama) even attended. Chris Brown’s arrival was received with bliss by many Ghanaians of which some tweeted along the lines ‘at least he is here now so let’s go and enjoy his electrifying performance’. He failed to be in the country on time for arranged radio interviews but what can we say? He has our $1 million… On his arrival at the airport, Chris Brown failed to hop into a luxurious Limousine with a fancy dressed chauffeur which was arranged to pick him up with his people saying, ‘he is not keen on Limousines’. According to them, Chris Brown sees Limousines ‘as a ride for prom’, GhanaCelerbrties.Com has learned. Meanwhile, just last month in Hawaii, Chris Brown partied with his girlfriend in a Limo on her birthday, GhanaCelebrities.Com has uncovered. We guess he was taking the piss… His performance at the concert was amazing; he brought his usual electrifying stage craft and energy to Ghana. He performed several of his hit songs with patrons singing along. His great performance which lasted over an hour was characterized with vulgar language which Ghanaians are not used to… Instead of promoting the rLG or throwing in a word or two about the brand, he decided to take the piss again by promoting the use of marijuana when he knows or ought to know this is an illegal substance in many countries including Ghana. Whiles performing one of his songs, he happily asked if there were weed smokers in Ghana and proceeded to say “if anybody’s tripping on you smoking, f**k them”. He pulled out a rolled ‘joint’ and smoked it live on stage… No Ghanaian entertainer dare do this openly in Ghana and go free. The police would have been on him or the crowd would consider it extensively offensive. However, Chris Brown came, did it and flew away! The concert was great but the piss take by Chris Brown leading and during the concert was absurd! Surely, no one pays another $1 million to be disrespected… SMH!!!!!!!!

My names is Rowan, I never thought I’d get to say this but this is MBE. When I found out tickets for the Believe tour were coming out in July I begged my mum for a BieberFever membership. She finally gave in and let me sign up for one. I managed to get Block A seats for the Manchester show on the 21 st February 2013 with my sister. The same day, my friend that I met through being a belieber told me that she really wanted tickets but had no one to go with. I thought as I have some money left over from saving up I’d ask her if she wanted to go to the Liverpool concert. Obviously she said yes and I bought another set of tickets on Block 7 for Liverpool February 24. The time had come when it was only a couple day to go until the concert and I decided to go on to BieberFever to see what was going on. I saw that I missed the deadline for the competition for both dates and I was heartbroken. All I wanted was to meet Justin and I knew this was my only chance so I just entered for the Birmingham show on the 28th because it was my birthday. I didn’t bother buying tickets for the concert because I knew I wouldn’t win anyways. My two Believe tour shows past, which at this point were the best nights of my life. I couldn’t believe how amazing they were! It was about 9:30 p.m. on the 27 th Feb when I was in the car with my dad. I NEVER check my emails but for some reason I just decided too when i saw it. I started having a panic attack and I couldn’t tell my dad why. I got him so scared and he was driving all over the place trying to calm me down. Finally he stopped and I passed him my phone to read the email. He couldn’t believe it as much as me and was so happy for me! It was around 10:30 p.m. and my mum managed to book tickets for the concert for the next day. I was so incredibly excited at the fact I was going to be meeting Justin the next day. I was over the moon, and this was all happening ON MY 15TH BIRTHDAY! On 28th February at 12.00 p.m. we set off to Birmingham. I had bought Justin some birthday presents and a card with loads of Beliebers Twitter names in which I was planning on giving him. We got to Birmingham and I got into the queue with my sister at around 3 p.m. Finally Justin had arrived. I was moments away from meeting my idol and I felt so sick. Dan came out to speak to everyone as we were waiting and even though he was a bit in front of me, I was watching him with all the beliebers and he was just smiling and chatting with them. The queue was getting shorter as I approached the black curtain. Someone walked out and I saw a trouser leg. A purple, cheetah print trouser leg. That could only be one person, I thought to myself. I was getting so nervous and shaking so much as I got closer to the front. One of the security men told us that as Justin was late, we weren’t able to speak to him for a long time, we had to be really quick but I didn’t even mind. As long as I got to meet my idol, that’s all that mattered to me. I put my present for Justin down as it was finally my turn. I entered the curtain and saw him standing there posing for a picture with the girls in front of me. It was my turn, he turned and looked at me, staring as I walked over to him followed by my sister, and the two other girls in the picture. He had been looking at my badge and when I stood next to him he looked up and commented, “Aww, birthday girl!” I said yes to him and just kept telling him how much I love him. The picture was taken and then we had to leave. I quickly squeezed the side of him and went to walk away as I repeatedly told him how much I love him. Just before I left, I turned to him to say bye and he looked at me and told me, “Love you.” I walked out and burst into tears with my sister. We couldn’t believe what just happened to us. Justin Drew Bieber just spoke to me! We walked to our seats in the arena ready to enjoy the show, thinking about the fact that I just met the boy that means absolutely everything to me. I’m never ever going to forget this. It was not only the best day ever but also the best birthday I could have ever asked for.
