Harry How/Getty Images LeBron James Lakers Debut Marred By Fight Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you probably already know that the Lakers home opener — LeBron’s debut with the team — was interrupted by a huge on court brawl during the 4th quarter. You can see most of this pretty clearly in the video but TMZ is reporting that the 4th quarter catch fade began when Lakers Center, Brandon Ingram, shoved Rockets Guard, James Harden. Ingram received a technical foul for his actions but soon after Houston PG, Chris Paul and Lakers PG Rajon Rondo started throwing punches at each other. You can see Chris Paul poking Rondo in the face with a finger before Rondo threw a punch but Chris Paul and several teammates say Rondo was to blame and he spit in Paul’s face. The NBA hasn’t yet doled out punishments for those involved but stay tuned because there are likely to be some suspensions. Pascal Deloche/Getty Images 63 Infant Remains Found At Detroit Funeral Home A horrifying story is coming out of Detroit where authorities made TWO shocking discoveries about local funeral homes. The remains of over 60 infants were found at the city’s Perry Funeral Home reports WXYZ Detroit . This comes a week after 11 infant bodies were found hidden in the ceiling of a different Detroit funeral home, Cantrell Funeral Home. The outlet reports that officers found 36 fetuses in cardboard boxes and 27 more in freezers. The conditions of the fetuses are unknown. Perry Funeral Home has been shut down by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Their violations include; Three unrefrigerated boxes containing the remains of a total of approximately 36 deceased bodies of fetuses or infants plus a deep freezer containing an unknown number of additional deceased bodies. Some of the deceased had dates of death in 2015. Respondents failed to certify and file death certificates for the dead bodies of the fetuses and infants for whom they assumed custody with the appropriate governmental authority within 72 hours of death. The funeral home owner has since spoken out and they’re denying any wrongdoing. According to the owner who released a statement via a lawyer to WXYZ, the funeral home operated within compliance. “A funeral home cannot bury remains without proper authorization and the law in Michigan sets forth a hierarchy for authority. Perry relied upon and operated within that hierarchy…” How crazy is this story? Our hearts go out to the parents of these infants who thought their lost loved ones were being handled with dignity and respect.
Wu-Tang Clan Performs “C.R.E.A.M.” In Brooklyn Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been taping in New York for the past week, switching it up from their usual Hollywood locale. To top off their week in Brooklyn, Wu-Tang Clan blessed the stage with a very special performance of their hit “C.R.E.A.M.” for a packed house. The whole crew was in the building including Method Man, RZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and even Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son. Photo by Zhong Zhi/Getty Images Steph Curry’s First Producing Gig Is On The Horizon NBA superstar Steph Curry has quietly become apart of the production team for Breakthrough , a faith-based drama from Fox 2000, as an executive producer, according to The Hollywood Reporter . The move was finalized several months ago, and will be one of the first for Curry’s emerging media career. It will also be one of the first to be revealed since the Golden State Warriors point guard officially launched his banner, Unanimous Media, earlier this year. Unanimous is developing many of its own projects and has an overall film and TV deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment, but it looks like Curry just couldn’t pass up getting involved with Breakthrough since it deals with his own focus on faith and family. Based on a book by Joyce Smith titled The Impossible , Breakthrough tells the true story of how Joyce’s son, John Smith, fell through the ice and drowned, and was declared legally dead. However, an hour later, the basketball-loving 14-year-old was miraculously revived through the power of prayer. This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz stars in the flick as Smith, while Topher Grace plays a pastor. “John’s story is nothing short of incredible,” Curry explained in a statement to THR . “It’s a story about the power of prayer and perseverance and one I immediately connected to. After reading the script, I knew I wanted to be a part of bringing it to life onscreen.” DeVon Franklin, who focuses on faith-based projects and produced Breakthrough , said that Curry was moved by the true-life story and that the movie “checks all his boxes: faith, true story, family and sports.” When Franklin initially gave Curry the script, which he read almost immediately; 24 hours later, the basketball star was ready to get involved. Curry and his Unanimous co-founders, Jeron Smith and Erick Peyton, gave overall notes on themes throughout the movie along with detailed notes on a couple of key scenes. They also gave input on the basketball scenes and helped license some of the imagery throughout the film. Using his star power, Curry will also help with the marketing of the movie in the run-up to its release. “He will bring attention to this story, which I think is powerful,” stated Franklin. Breakthrough is set for a April 12 release in 2019.
Dave Chappelle made a stand-up appearance in Ireland over the weekend, and when a fan from the crowd asked his honest opinion on his friend Kanye’s erratic actions over the past few weeks…he got super honest with what he thinks the source of the issue is: “I gotta state my bias: I f–k with Kanye, he’s like literally a friend of mine. I had a lot of thoughts and feelings, and as you can imagine I got asked a lot about what happened in the Oval Office. When Kanye put that Make America Great Again hat on, he was like, ‘This is like my cape,’ and I was saying to myself, ‘N—a, just wear a cape!’ Honestly, all jokes aside, I felt like my friend is bipolar, and I felt like he was having a manic episode on television. And I was initially angry that they paraded him in front of those cameras. Kanye thinks and says things as fast as he thinks ’em, without refining them before he says them.” Dave Chappelle even took it a step further, comparing West’s worldview to that of a legend… “Kanye West wants the full amenities of being Kanye West. He’s a rich person that happens to be black, and he wants the rights of every rich person. He’s completely analogous and this has happened before. According to TMZ , Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell got an earful from angry voters while he was eating dinner at Havana Rumba in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to the recording, a witness says the main aggressor in the video walked up to McConnell, slammed his fists on the table, grabbed his doggie bag full of leftovers and threw it out the door! LMAO! The man was said to be upset over McConnell’s stance on health care and social security. Peep the video below. Good. Ashanti may be a legend to some of us, but apparently college kids don’t know — or care — much about her music. The Braveheart singer was scheduled to perform at Stony Brook University for their “Back to the Brook” concert, but the show was cancelled due to “low ticket sales.” The University released a statement, saying, As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With only a week before the concert, only 24 tickets were sold to students. The school added that they were already on a hard deadline since Teyana Taylor pulled out on the event two weeks prior, which left them no time to properly market and promote Ashanti as the new headliner — so technically, it’s no ones fault. Ashanti may not be selling out college campuses, but she can certainly strike a better pose than half of these youngins on the ‘gram. Oh, and Happy Belated birthday!

For those who haven’t seen the movie , the incredibly talented 19-year-old shared a quick synopsis: “It’s based on this incredible book, by Angie Thomas, about this girl named Star who is code-switching between two different environments—her neighborhood, which is Black and lower income, and the school that she goes to, which is White and privileged. She kind of has to confront who she is and if she’s willing to speak up once this tragic event happens. She is pulled over with her best friend in her neighborhood, by a White police officer, and the police officer thinks that he’s reaching for a gun, when he’s really reaching for a hairbrush—and he shoots him and kills him.” “It follows the trial as these different communities internalize what that means. Her safety is kind of compromised and she has to make the decision to stand up for her community.” When asked by Ryan Seacrest, “What’s been the reaction from teenagers and young adults?” Amandla responds: “Man, it’s been amazing. I mean, it’s been really emotional for sure…especially for Black girls who feel really represented by it and validated by it, which is exactly how I felt when I read the book. It’s amazing.” Amandla also explained the meaning behind her strong, yet adorable , name: “Amandla means ‘power’ in Xhosa and Zulu. It was a part of an anti-apartheid rallying cry in South Africa.” As for whether or not being named “power” makes her feels any added pressure, the rising star’s response couldn’t have been better: “I guess it’s like a prophecy.
