Future Launches New Shoe Future hosted an exclusive Atlanta in-store launch of his “Furykaze” sneaker, this year’s most anticipated entertainment/apparel brand partnership between the entertainer and classic sportswear brand. As an ode to Future’s favorite Reebok sneakers, this brand new silhouette is a combination of the beloved Instapump Fury and Kamikaze II. Inspired by the Scorpion, Future’s astrological sign, the texture of the suede upper is reminiscent of the hair on the scorpion’s tail, claws and legs, while the molded vamps emanate the ribbed body. The TPU heel collar also mimics the flexibility of the scorpion’s tail and folds easily down for ease of wear. The Furykaze will be released in a fresh Sandstone colorway with an external Pump bladder on the upper reminiscent of the Fury. Check out more photos from the event below
Cardi B Explains Her Name As most folks know by now, Cardi B’s real name is Belcalis Almanzar . So going from that to Cardi B seems like a bit of a stretch. But as “Bardi” explained to Wendy Williams during a recent interview, it’s a play on words loosely based on her sister’s own name. Apparently, her sister’s REAL government name is Hennesy …so that provided a natural progression of nicknames for her. “My sister’s name is Hennessy, so everybody used to be like ‘Bacardi’ to me. Then I shortened it to Cardi B. The ‘B’ stands for whatever, depending on the day…beautiful or bully.” …right. We’re sure that coming up in the Bronx that there’s other B words that she probably applied there…but okay Cardi. “No one calls me Belcalis except for my family, my mother and my daddy.” Hmm, who knew? Texas Mass Shooter Has A WILD History On Domestic Violence Details are coming out about the mass killer who fatally shot 26 people in a Texas church, 14 of them being children. The killer, Devin Kelley had a WILD history of domestic violence. According to The New York Daily News , Devin Patrick Kelley oftenly sent volatile text messages to his mother-in-law, and it gets worse– he served a year in a military jail for beating his ex-wife and fracturing her child’s skull in New Mexico in 2012. Reportedly the man used to verbally abuse his girlfriend in public often, to the point where folks from his local coffee shop knew him as an abuser. Because of his abusive history, a lawmaker in NY is calling to make a law to block men with a history of domestic abuse to be blocked from buying guns. The democrat, Brad Holman wants to give judges the power to seize an individual’s firearms if they pose a significant risk to themselves or others. As for her husband, she says, he’ll always stand by the choices she makes. So even though I wish I could have been there when she got married, however she chooses to do it, that’s her business. And he’s a really nice guy. I have since met him after the fact. But I’m on her side on this one.” Burruss says the only lady on the cast she doesn’t consider a friend is Williams, but they can “co-exist” on the show. Other than that, she’s not worried about much. “If I can make it through last season, I can make it through anything,” she says. On Friday night, Cardi B was set to perform in New Orleans at Studio 233. After posting the flyer on her Instagram, it seemed like everything was all good and this performance was just another day in the life of Cardi. But when it came time for Belcalis to actually perform, things ended up getting a little sticky. Certain club promoters work out different deals with the performers they get for their venues, often giving the stars half of their payment when they book them, and the other half once they actually show up that night to perform. On November 3rd, it looks like when Cardi held up her end of the bargain showing up to do her thing, there wasn’t any type of bag for her. Most artists would end up just leaving–which they’re entitled to, since they aren’t being paid–but not knowing what goes on behind the scenes, it can end up being bad publicity for seemingly skipping out on a show. Cardi B knows this, and she knows that the fans aren’t at fault for the promoter’s foolishness (they all paid to get into the club) so she acted differently than most artists would. Mother Angry As School Pronounces Daughter’s Name As A Slur A Rochester, NY mother is livid after receiving multiple “robocalls” from her daughter’s high school that pronounce her name as a racial slur . Nicomi Stewart received the typical automated notification call that comes to parent phones when a child misses class after her daughter, Nicarri, stayed home from Edison Career and Technology High School one day last week. The issue…the robotic voice pronounced Nicarri’s name as “the n-word” instead. “This is Edison Career and Technology High School. Your daughter, N****r, has missed period one…” According to Huffpost , the call came more than once as Nicarri was reported absent for each school period, so Nicomi was able to record the message and bring it to the school board’s attention. Under typical circumstances, this could all be called a fluke…BUT Stewart reports that the robocall system had not issue correctly pronouncing Nicarri’s name last year. There should be no reason for it to suddenly call her a n****r now. SMH.
