Odell Beckham, Jr. Fined $72k In First 4 Games Of NFL Season Odell hasn’t been having his best season …and he’s been taking out his frustrations on kicking nets right and left. But the baller has even more to cry about now…he’s been fined $72,463 in just the first 4 games of the season, mainly for unsportsmanlike conduct on the field. His most recent fine came on Monday night against the Vikings — $24,309 for taunting Xavier Rhodes after he was hit late in the second quarter. Via ESPN : The penalty was Beckham’s sixth for unsportsmanlike conduct, unnecessary roughness or taunting since entering the league in 2014. It was the third time in four games this season he was fined for his on-field behavior. In Week 1, Beckham was involved in a group celebration that cost him $12,154. In Week 2, he was docked $36,000 for a hit on New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro. The most recent fine brings his total to $72,463 through four weeks this season. After the 24-10 loss, Beckham said he wasn’t happy with the flag. “I just have to understand if I sneeze the wrong way, it will be a flag,” he said. “It will be a fine. If I tie my shoes the wrong way, it might be a fine or a flag. It is what it is. You have to understand that. As tough as it is to understand that for a 23-year-old who has been blessed with a lot that God has given to me — an amazing amount of ability and amazing amount of everything — it seems like it’s all working against you.” Beckham has been fined more than $150,000 since entering the league. Add University of North Dakota to the list of colleges to never send your black sons and daughters to EVER… According to Star Tribune reports : University of North Dakota officials announced late Wednesday that they concluded an investigation into two racially charged Snapchat photos and that they have decided not to punish the students involved. “After a full review of the information, the Code of Student Life and the laws pertaining to each incident, and after consulting with general counsel, [the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities] has concluded that neither incident constitutes a violation of the UND Code of Student Life,” the school wrote in a statement. The outcome was “driven by the Constitutional protection of free speech,” but officials wouldn’t disclose details of their findings. SMH… Free Speech? And not a violation of the UND Code of Student Life? So we guess there are no rules in the Code of Student Life about not being a racist bigots who treat innocent people with zero regard. Both incidents happened on Snapchat in September, just days apart. The first involved three students who allegedly locked a black student out of a dorm and took a picture on her phone with the caption, “locked the black b**ch out.” And the second showed four students posing in blackface with the caption “Black lives matter.” “As part of the conversation with student leaders, we talked about the concept of zero tolerance,” UND President Mark Kennedy said in a statement released following the investigation. “While I appreciate the desire for such a policy, it is unachievable under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.” Kennedy said that he was aware that students and other members of the community were hurt by the incidents and that he personally was “appalled” by the photos. At least somebody is appalled at that school. We don’t understand how the damn school President can be APPALLED and want a zero tolerance policy. Significant Loss Of Life And Property As Haiti And U.S. Hit Hard By Hurricane Matthew Hurricane Matthew has claimed the lives of almost 900 Haitians as hit made landfall this week. According to a nurse working in Port-au-Prince who spoke to BBC , the island is almost completely destroyed. “What we’ve seen thus far has been a fairly large-spread destruction in the south, potentially at points of 90% destruction in some of locations – complete destruction.” Almost 900 souls have been claimed as a result of this wide-spread destruction. At least 877 people were confirmed dead late on Friday, local officials told Reuters news agency. One of the survivors in the village of Chantal told Reuters a tree had flattened his house. “The entire house fell on us. I couldn’t get out,” Jean-Pierre Jean-Donald said. “People came to lift the rubble, and then we saw my wife, who had died.” Our prayers continue to go out to those are dealing with unimaginable grief at this time. Stateside, Matthew hasn’t been quite as fatal, but lives have been lost and several states have suffered extensive damage according to DailyMail . After killing six people in Florida and nearly 900 in Haiti, Matthew raked the Georgia and South Carolina coasts with torrential rain and stiff winds before touching down in McCleallanville, about 50 minutes from Charleston, just after 11am. It has been estimated that Matthew will end up damaging roughly 1.5million residential and commercial properties in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Property data firm CoreLogic projects that the total damage will cost between $4billion and $6billion in insured losses, anticipating 90 percent of insurance claims will be attributed to storm surges and wind damage from the storm. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Resented People Expecting Her To Be Grateful To Beyoncé Several years have passed since Beyoncé released the self-titled album which exposed millions of fans to her newfound feminine side, a side best reflected in the song “Flawless” which included excerpts from accomplished author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED Talk “We Should All Be Feminists.” After years of declining to speak on her inclusion, Ngozi Adichie recently revealed her feelings about her work being included on the Beyoncé album. In an interview with Volkskrant at the Brainwash Festival in Amsterdam Ngozi Adichie confirms that she was onboard — at least at first: ‘In the first place: of course Beyoncé asked permission to use my texts, and I did give her permission. I think she’s lovely and I am convinced that she has nothing but the best intentions. In addition, Beyoncé is a celebrity of the first order and with this song she has reached many people who would otherwise probably never have heard the word feminism, let alone gone out and buy my essay.’ ‘But I was shocked about how many requests for an interview I received when that song was released. Literally every major newspaper in the world wanted to speak with me about Beyoncé. I felt such a resentment (laughs loudly). I thought: are books really that unimportant to you? Another thing I hated was that I read everywhere: now people finally know her, thanks to Beyoncé, or: she must be very grateful. I found that disappointing. I thought: I am a writer and I have been for some time and I refuse to perform in this charade that is now apparently expected of me: “Thanks to Beyoncé, my life will never be the same again.” That’s why it didn’t speak about it much.’ Zaaaayuuuuuum girl. She portrays a woman who is in charge of her own destiny, who does her own thing, and she has girl power. I am very taken with that.’ ‘Still, her type of feminism is not mine, as it is the kind that, at the same time, gives quite a lot of space to the necessity of men. I think men are lovely, but I don’t think that women should relate everything they do to men: did he hurt me, do I forgive him, did he put a ring on my finger? We women are so conditioned to relate everything to men. Put a group of women together and the conversation will eventually be about men. Put a group of men together and they will not talk about women at all, they will just talk about their own stuff.
