Source: Splash News / Splash News Forest Whitaker Plays Crime Boss Bumpy Johnson In New Trailer A new show is coming to EPIX that will find organized crime clashing with the Civil Rights Movement. Godfather of Harlem is a 10-episode, hour-long drama that’s inspired by the story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson. In the early 1960s, Bumpy (played by Forest Whitaker ) returned from ten years in prison to discover a neighborhood he once dominated be in shambles. The streets are now controlled by the Italian mob and Bumpy must face the Genovese crime family to regain control. During the intense feud, he forms an alliance with radical speaker Malcolm X (played by Nigél Thatch ), who’s in the midst of a political rise, social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart. Peep the trailer for the series below, which is expected to debut in the fall of 2019.

Source: ENT/ SplashNews / Splash News Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson Spotted At Courthouse Possibly Picking Up Marriage License In the short time that we’ve been following their romance , people seem genuinely interested in “When They See Us” actor Joshua Jackson and his gorgeous girlfriend, model/actress Jodie Turner-Smith , who will make her feature film debut in ‘ Queen & Slim ‘ this Thanksgiving. So we were excited to learn that Jackson and Turner-Smith may soon be tying the knot. According to Daily Mail reports Joshua and Jodie were spotted getting what appeared to be a marriage license in Beverly Hills from a courthouse on Friday. Marriage licenses are valid for 90 days, so it’s looking likely they’ll be man and wife before her first film hits theaters. The couple, who have been dating since being introduced at Usher’s 40th birthday bash last fall aren’t immune to tabloid troubles. In June, US Weekly published photos of Jackson smooching a mystery woman he was dropping off at LAX. Clearly he’s been able to work things out with Jodie since then, we’re definitely hoping the relationship is in a healthy space before swirly matrimony-dom commences! Congrats to Josh and Jodie. The “Moonlight”/”Bird Box” actor doesn’t use much social media but a friend apparently shared a photo of the actor coupled up with a woman captioned “Congratulations.” In it, he’s posing with fitness model Mara Wright and toasting with people who seem to be members of Wright’s family as they speak in German.
