Source: Anthoney Geathers/Getty Images / Getty Deontay Wilder Knocks Out Dominic Breazale A heavyweight boxing match that was supposed to be an exciting round for round bout between two talents was cut EXTREMELY short this weekend. “Bronze Bomber” Deontay Wilder absolutely obliterated his opponent Dominic Breazale 2:17 into Round 1 at the Barclays Center. The WBC heavyweight champion hit Breazale with an explosive right hook that took him down. The knock out came after Wilder, who also went viral for his “to dis day” quip, made controversial comments about possibly killing his opponent in the ring. “If he dies, he dies,’’ Wilder previously told members of the press. This is boxing. This is not a gentleman’s sport. This is a gladiator’s sport. And with bad blood, we know I possess the power…” “If anybody thinks this is a game, you better close your eyes,” he added. “If you’re there, bring a blindfold because this is going to be a tragedy. That’s the least I can do, I can pay for the funeral… “Man, this fight, with the bad blood we got, I don’t see this fight going long,’’ said Wilder. “I’ll be surprised if this fight goes past three rounds. I don’t like this guy. I don’t have no good intentions for him. I wish the worst on him.” Deontay Wilder on wanting to kill an opponent: “This is the only sport where you can kill a man and get paid for it at the same time…so why not use my right to do so?” #WilderBreazeale pic.twitter.com/Li5bcSdHEn — Ryan Songalia (@ryansongalia) May 15, 2019 Wilder is set to be investigated for making those comments, but he’s celebrating anyway. Source: Johnny Louis / Getty Former “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” Couple Back In Court Over Toddler Bonnie Bella Reality star Stevie J says he’s concerned for his youngest daughter’s safety and has asked a judge to award him full custody of the girl while accusing his former co-star and lover Joseline Hernandez of purposely cutting him out of their daughter’s life. The former Bad Boy producer filed a flurry of court documents earlier this week alleging that Hernandez committed “parental alienation” after she hightailed it to Miami to shack up with another guy. Jordan said his daughter’s mother won’t let him visit the now three year old, speak to her on the phone or have a say in her day to day upbringing – which are all violations of their paternity agreement. Jordan said that Hernandez has blocked him from doing things like participating in the little girl’s academic life and she refuses to communicate with him about the girl’s development – even their Miami address, his court filing – which was obtained by BOSSIP – states. Interestingly, Jordan also claimed that he fears for Bonnie’s safety and well being, and has asked the judge to appoint a “guardian ad litem” whose job is to represent Bonnie Bella’s best interests and eventually report their findings to the judge. He says he is more financially and mentally stable to care for the little girl, and has a safe and loving home to raise Bonnie in with new wife, Faith Evans, his adult children and extended family, according to court documents. Source: David Becker / Getty Bonnie Bella was born in December 2016 amid a nasty breakup between her parents that devolved into an acrimonious paternity battle. Each side accused the other in family court of drug abuse, cheating and violence. But last year, both Hernandez and Jordan agreed to Hernandez having primary physical custody of Bonnie, with Jordan getting weekend visitation and a say on things like her schooling, healthcare, religion and extracurricular activities, court documents say. The “Leave It To Stevie” star said that Bonnie and his relationship has ultimately suffered because of Hernandez’s actions, and he wants a judge to punish her. He also wants Hernandez to pay child support to him if the judge awards him primary custody. We’ve reached out to both Hernandez and Jordan’s lawyers for comment. A judge has yet to rule on Jordan’s request.
Source: Robert Alexander / Getty Texas Cop Fired For Killing Unarmed Black Man While we’re glad that this cop is facing a real punishment for taking the life of a Black man, we can’t help be wish this was the rule and not the exception. According to NYPost , an Arlington, Texas police officer, Bau Tran, was fired and charged with the criminally negligent homicide of 24-year-old O’Shae Terry last September. Texas isn’t exactly a place where police are held to a standard of accountability when it comes to violence against people, but especially people of color. Tran shot Terry on Sept. 1 after another officer pulled the Forest Hill resident over on a registration violation. After talking for several minutes, body camera footage shows Tran grabbing the passenger-side window of the SUV Terry was driving as it begins to roll up. The officer stepped on to the vehicle’s running board as it started to move, pointed his gun into the SUV and fired multiple shots. Terry later died at a hospital. Tran was initially placed on restrictive duty, but then placed on leave after the grand jury indicted that a$$. Good riddance. Take some of your bacon-scented buddies with you.
Source: CBS Photo Archive / Getty MusiCares Reveals The Mac Miller Legacy Fund The Mac Miller Legacy Fund has officially been launched by MusiCares, and will set out to help young people who are struggling with substance abuse, according to their website. MusiCares, which was created by the Recording Academy back in 1993, announced the non-profit on Thursday in Los Angeles during its annual MusiCares Concert for Recovery. Mac Miller’s very close friend Vince Staples was in attendance to reveal the news during a tribute to the late musician. The Mac Miller Fund—which was founded at the Pittsburgh Foundation by the rapper’s family—will grant $50,000 to help establish the MusiCares Mac Miller Legacy Fund. The site also shares that the legacy fund “is dedicated to helping members of the music community age 27 and under who are facing addiction.” The Mac Miller Fund currently has assets of nearly $1 million, which has been accumulated from donations via the Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life concert that took place last October, along with some contributions from the public. Mac’s family issued a statement after the MusiCares’ announcement saying the following: “These grants celebrate Malcolm’s life and legacy by funding two respected organizations that provide opportunities for young people to realize their talents and potential. It’s critically important to our family to fund a safety net for artists and musicians who are struggling with substance addiction. No life should be cut short for lack of expert help.”
Source: MARK RALSTON / Getty Man Arrested After Beating A Woman With An Electric Scooter A man in California was arrested and charged in the murder of an elderly woman after he allegedly beat her to death with an electric scooter, according to reports from KTLA . 27-year-old Amad Rashad Redding was indicted on Wednesday on one count of murder in the death of 63-year-old Rosa Elena Hernandez. Authorities say that Redding approached Hernandez in Long Beach on Monday afternoon, knocking her to the ground and then proceeding to stomp on the woman’s head. When a bystander tried to help, that is when Redding reportedly took an electric Bird scooter and bludgeoned her to death. Officers who responded to the horrific incident found significant injuries to Hernandez’ upper torso and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police don’t believe that Redding actually knew his victim prior to this incident, and prosecutors described him as a transient who “randomly attacked” Hernandez. One resident did tell the station, however, that she had seen Redding in the neighborhood before. “I’ve seen him, he walks around, I’ve seen him walk around a few times by our house actually,” said Misty Velasco. Hernandez was a local babysitter who had lived in Long Beach for almost 40 years. “She knew everybody in the community, she would walk around, talk to all the Latinas and Latinos who lived in the neighborhood,” Dennis Fitzgerald said. “She did not drive, so she just walked every place.” Redding fled following Monday’s assault but was found about four hours later inside of a business, according to the Los Angeles Times . He was previously arrested back in February for allegedly setting a fire inside his family’s home in Louisiana, as reported by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal . Redding is currently being held on a $2 million bond and faces a possible sentence of 25 years to life in jail if convicted.
Source: New York Daily News Archive / Getty Lamar Odom Used Fake Penis To Pass Olympic Drug Test We already knew Lamar Odom was a wild boy, but cotdamn… Let TMZ tell it, Lamar wanted to represent the USA SO badly in the 2004 Olympics that he used a prosthetic penis to pass drug tests that he was obviously going to fail. Odom recounts his use of the fraudulent phallus in his soon-to-be-released book “Darkness to Light”: “We started googling ‘fake penises’ and studied different ways to beat a drug test.” “After an exhaustive search we ordered a giant, rubber, black c*** to arrive the next day,” Odom writes in an expert first provided to People … “I unzipped my pants and carefully slid the fake penis through the zipper hole. To get the pee to come out of the tip, I had to squeeze the shaft repeatedly.” BRUH. Lamar goes on to talk about how paranoid he was when the tester showed up at his crib to take a sample, but somehow the dubious d**k was never detected by the Olympic official. Thing is, the USA had a terrible showing that year when they came in third and went home with a bronze medal. Kinda makes you think that Lamar wasn’t the only one who might have been on the sauce that summer.
