So much for diversity… Twitter Employees Are Only 30% Female, 2% African American Looks like Google isn’t the only tech giant with a major diversity issue . As it turns out, there’s really no such thing as #BlackTwitter . Via YahooNews : Twitter disclosed the diversity numbers for its global and U.S. employees Wednesday, following in the footsteps of Google, Facebook, Yahoo, and LinkedIn. Like these companies, Twitter is comprised of a workforce that’s primarily white and male, especially when it comes to tech-related positions. At Twitter, 70% of employees are male and 30% are female. When you look at the numbers for tech-related jobs, that ratio switches from 90% male employees to 10% female workers. The statistics are split straight down the middle in terms of gender for non tech jobs, and male employees account for 79% of leadership positions within the company. The majority of Twitter’s employees are white as well. At Twitter, 59% of U.S. employees are white, while 29% are Asian, 2% or African American or Black, and 3% are Hispanic. And 72% of leadership roles are occupied by white employees. While these numbers are troubling, Twitter isn’t the only company with a diversity problem. Facebook, Yahoo, LinkedIn, and Google all reported similar statistics earlier this year. Similar to these companies, Twitter admits that it has a lot of work to do in the diversity department. As part of its initiative to improve diversity in Silicon Valley, Twitter says that it supports Girls Who Code, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women get into computer engineering. The social media giant also mentions that it regularly hosts Girl Geek Dinners in San Francisco and Boston. Wow, these numbers are nearly identical to Google’s demographics. Are these tech giants just filling an extremely low preset quota of non-white faces?

It all went down on a Baltimore Ravens fan cruise to the Bahamas — where part of the entertainment was an adults-only “game show” … which included a low-budge drag competition. Jacoby — being the good sport that he is — put on his game face … and an ill-fitting bra … and strutted his stuff around the stage. Unfortunately, he just wasn’t fierce enough … and came up short … despite rocking a fabulous Louis Vuitton purse. Keep workin’ it … there’s always next year boo!!!

Testosterone and jealousy is a bad combination… Devonte Fields Of TCU Arrested For Threatening To Kill His Girlfriend Via Arlington-Star-Telegram TCU defensive end Devonte Fields is under investigation by police after his ex-girlfriend accused him of pointing a gun at her, threatening” I should blast you!” then punching her in the head at a Fort Worth home Sunday. Fields had allegedly left the scene before officers’ arrival, according to a Fort Worth police report. “Devonte Fields has been listed as a suspect on a domestic disturbance in Fort Worth,” confirmed Sgt. Raymond Bush, a police spokesman. “He has not been arrested.” Fields, who only played three games last year because of injury, has been selected as the preseason defensive MVP of the Big 12. He is also on the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation’s top defensive player, and the Walter Camp Award, presented to the nation’s best overall player. Police had been called to a domestic disturbance about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Lubbock Avenue in Fort Worth. There, 20-year-old Haley Brown told officers that Fields had apparently been standing outside the bedroom window listening to her talk to a mutual male friend. Brown told police Fields then punched out the window of their friend’s bedroom from the outside and began yelling at her. “Haley stated that she thought Devonte was holding a gun in one of his hands and stated that he pointed it at her,” the report states. “I should blast you!” he yelled at Haley, according to the report. The report states Fields then came to the home’s front door and was let inside by their mutual friend’s roommate. “Haley stated that Devonte continued to yell at her and punched her in the face one time with a closed fist,” the report states Officers observed Haley’s right cheek to be swollen with a small cut under her eye. She refused to be taken to the hospital for further evaluation and told officers she did not want to pursue charges against Fields. Another black athlete throwing his future away over some poon.
