Source: Getty / Getty In today’s edition of “people are wild, yo”, a Romanian man was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday for actually attempting to smuggle 10 vietnamese citizens in an old refrigerator — including eight children. 45-year old Ciprian Scorteanu was stopped by Border Patrol at Port of Hull after police noticed his goods vehicle was suspiciously heavy. After questioning Scorteanu, officers decided to impound his trailer for 48 hours in order to do a thorough search. The suspect was allowed to leave the port for a couple of days as his tractor trailer was being investigated, and that’s when ish got real. Metro News reports: Just hours after letting him go, officers made an alarming discovery after noticing steam coming from the roof of the trailer’s refrigeration unit. The façade of the unit was removed and inside, officers found 10 people, including eight children, hiding inside a specially adapted fridge. Mark Robinson, Humberside assistant director for Border Force said: ‘This was a deliberate attempt to bypass the UK’s border controls. ‘The trailer had been adapted for the sole purpose of smuggling.’ Allegedly, the men in the fridge were once denied entry to the U.K. and being smuggled was their last attempt to get in. On March 7, Scorteanu was sentenced to four years and six months for the crime. The eight children were sent to child protective services. Damn.

Source: Scott Olson / Getty Spokesperson Claims Some Info Leaked To The Press Was “Not Factually Accurate” The always questionable Chicago Police Department is in the hot seat now that they’ve launched an internal investigation surrounding leaks in the Jussie Smollett case. Anthony Guglielmi , a spokesman for the CPD, confirmed with ABC News that the probe was launched last month “during the interrogation of the brothers when information leaked out,” referring to the two Osundairo brothers who investigators claim staged Smollet’s hate crime attack in January. Investigators are trying to determine who anonymously leaked important info about the case to the press. “I will also add that there were several agencies briefed with information during that time and some of the information that went out was not factually accurate,” Guglielmi told ABC News on Thursday. “These types of investigations are fairly common so that we can determine if we have any integrity issues for future cases.” In February, the CPD accused Jussie of staging his attack because he was “dissatisfied with his salary.” He now faces one count of felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report which could carry a three years in prison sentence plus fines.

The new show picks up on where the 1992 movie starring Eddie Murphy, Robin Givens and Halle Berry left off, continuing the story of womanizing ad exec, Marcus (Murphy) and his colorful love life. Jackson stars as Simone Graham – the daughter of Marcus and Angela (Berry) – in the ensemble cast about young black professionals in Atlanta. “It’s such an iconic film, so I thought it was really cool that they were doing an extension of the film and not redoing the film,” Jackson told us by phone from L.A., where she’s now based. “As soon as I read the script and read my character, I instantly fell in love and wanted to be a part of it.” This new iteration of “Boomerang” focuses on a younger cast of characters, but Jackson said the show is filled with references to the original movie and appeals to both millennials and mature audiences alike. She’s a boss…To be around her was a lot of fun and a great learning experience.” Berry was away from the set as she filmed John Wick III in London, Jackson said she got to spend time with her at the Television Critics Association. “She has such a great light, a great spirit,” Jackson said. “So down to earth, such a beautiful soul.” Jackson got the entertainment bug at an early age, Her father was a jazz musician, and she was a dancer for many years before transitioning into acting. Besides “Boomerang,” she has appeared on several movie and TV projects over the years, including “Victorious,” and teen dance drama “All Styles,” and the Hulu series “All Night.” The actress said she hopes to return to Atlanta to film a second season of the show. “I’m so excited and blessed to be part of this project and I’m excited to see where it goes,” she said.

The “Jeopardy” host took to social media to tell the world that he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. “Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week, I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer,” said Trebek, 78. “Now, normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working, ” he added. “And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rates statistics for this disease.” He also humorously added that he HAS to beat the disease because he’s got another 3 years in his Jeopardy contract. For some reason, R. Kelly decided it would be a good idea to do a TV interview amid his severe sexual abuse charges. On Tuesday, the singer — who has been accused of partaking in sexual acts with three children older than 13 but younger than 17 — spoke out in his first post-jail interview since turning himself in to Chicago police last month. He opened up to CBS This Morning with Gayle King saying: “They’re going back to the past and they trying to add all of this stuff now to that, to make all of the stuff that’s going on now [feel] real to people. be stupid of him to hold girls against their will. Use your common sense. Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to; love me if you want. But just use your common sense. Kelly added: “How stupid would it be for me with my crazy past and what I’ve been through? I didn’t do this stuff. This is not me. I’m fighting for my f****** life.” The 52-year old was charged in on Feb. 22 with 10 counts of felony aggravated sexual abuse. If convicted, he faces three to seven years in prison for each count.
