Paula Deen Faces Backlash For Ad On Her Website Featuring Black Woman As Restaurant Worker Formerly popular chef Paula Deen is back in the hot seat after a few Facebookers took noticed of an image on her website that they found offensive. The image, depicted above, features a black woman dressed in a t-shirt and an apron who appears to be outside of the restaurant summoning customers to come inside. According to Eater.com , a Facebook group has recently taken issue with the ad, which they say has “racist undertones.” The group reportedly goes on to accuse Paula Deen of wishing for the days when black women were no more than “non-threatening servants. A spokesperson for the website later addressed the backlash, stating that the photo has been in circulation on the website for 5 years while also insisting that the woman in the photo has been employed with the restaurant for over a decade and is “like family” to Paula Deen. Hmmmm. Do you find this image offensive, Bossip fam?
So Hayden Panettiere posted this tweet: Didn't know paparazzi traveled with a carnival fun house mirror app on their cameras : / #whoknew ! pic.twitter.com/1tqrbTgnzS — hayden panettiere (@haydenpanettier) June 23, 2014 I assume she’s not too happy that the paparazzi made her look like a bloated troll on his way to hobbit land or whatever the fuck trolls do…because she went to the trouble to post the picture and be like “they be making me look fat”…yes Hayden Panettiere is a black woman in my mind…a black woman who loves the D…and goes for the gold with a 7 foot tall boxer who you know would rip her apart if she wasn’t so eager, accepting, and big vaginaed on such a small frame… So she went and put on a spandex outfit to prove her point and the whole thing – pretty fucking weird…I guess the hormonal bitch wants to maintain sex appeal that I feel she never had… TO SEE ALL THE PICS CLICK HERE
Kennedy is a woman of firsts: First black woman to win Miss Ohio, first black woman on the cover of Playboy , and one of the first women to be a sportscaster on TV.
Ever wonder why you don’t see women who look like us on the covers of Vogue?? Well we do. Especially after we broke the news of Keija Minor , the newly named Editor-in-Chief of Bride’s magazine, earlier this week. While we were over here giving her a shout out, we were also struck by the staggering fact that she’s the FIRST Black Woman to ever hold the position down at Condé Nast. Ever! The publishing empire that owns 18 magazines in total, (think Bride’s, Vogue, and GQ, just to name a few), has been in the business for 103 years! So it took over a century to finally have a well-qualified African American run isht. To show you a lack in progress…hit the flip and check out the awful pattern of Black Women gracing the cover of Vogue magazine (another Condé Nast publication)… They should be ashamed of themselves…but they probably don’t even think twice about it.
Sanaa Lathan chopped it up with Today’s Black Woman Style Report recently about love and career. And in her cover feature she inadvertently reveals the fact that she is currently on the market. And this is what she wants out of a relationship… Faithfulness, integrity, loyalty and honesty. It’s really important for me tovhave somebody who stimulates mevmentally. I love having long talks and laughing. Sounds pretty attainable for a plain-old non-Hollywood man, no? As for her career, Sanaa says what keeps her going is just as simple. Now, I don’t have to keep myself motivated. I just feel so appreciative to be doing what I’m doing and to have had the level of success that I’ve had. For me, my daily practice is of gratitude and constantly putting my focus on what’s going well. That’s code for “My bank account looks as good as I do.”
