I don’t think they celebrate Black Friday over in London, but here’s one of my all-time favorite British hotties Kimberley Garner getting into the spirit of things anyway by walking around with her clothes half-off. I’m not usually a big shopper, but I’d run over any one of you for the chance to take this grade-A deal home. Yow!
Nick Carter is the latest Hollywood figure to be accused of sexual harassment or misconduct. And the allegations against the Backstreet Boys member are as serious as it gets. In a lengthy post on her personal blog, Melissa Schuman – an artist who was part of the early 2000s all-girls group Dream – alleges that Carter raped her when she was 18 years old and he was 22. Schuman’s message is emotional and, at times, graphic. In it, Schuman claims she was received an invitation to Carter’s home during a day off from the film in which they were both starring. After arriving at his apartment with a friend, she explains how the pair listened to the singer’s new album before he supposedly brought her into the bathroom. This is when she claims they started kissing. Schuman writes that she virgin at the time of this incident. She claims Carter started unbuttoning her pants, ignoring her objections before allegedly performing oral sex on her. Carter is accused of then demanding a blow job from the singer. “My thought was the only way to get out was to get him to finish what he had started,” Schuman says. Schuman writes that Carter then led her to the bedroom and raped her. “I felt scared and trapped. He was visually and clearly growing very angry and impatient with me. I couldn’t leave,” she writes, adding in painful detail: “It was evident to me, that I couldn’t leave.” “He was stronger and much bigger than me, and there was no way I would be able to open that door or have anyone help me.” “My friend couldn’t help me, I didn’t even know where she was.” “So when he placed my hand on his penis my thought was the only way to get out was to get him to finish what he had started. “That’s where I saw myself, my reflection, watching myself do something that I was sicken by. “Watching myself be assaulted, forced to engage in an act against my will.” She continues of Carter: “He was relentless, refusing to take my no’s for an answer.” “He was heavy, too heavy to get out from under him. Then I felt it, he put something inside of me.” Unbelievable. And it gets worse … “I asked him,” she recalls, chillingly, “what it was and he whispered in my ear once more …” “It’s all me baby.” How disgusting. Schuman didn’t tell anyone about this encounter for years. She even sang a duet with Carter at one point, prior to losing interest in music as a career path. Why did the former singer wait to long to come out? She grew sick and tired of seeing all the victim-shaming across the Internet any time a woman accused a man, especially a famous man, of sexual assault. View Slideshow: #MeToo: Stars Share Stories of Sexual Harassment, Assault “I feel I have an obligation now to come forward with the hope and intention to inspire and encourage other victims to tell their story,” she writes. And she concludes: “We are stronger in numbers. If you are reading this and you have been assaulted, know you don’t have to be silent and you are not alone.” “I know it’s scary. I’m scared.” “I believe you. I stand with you and together I hope we can bring light to things that have been lost in the darkness for so long.” Schuman ends her post with the hashtag “#metoo.” Carter is yet to address this allegation. But Schuman has taken to Twitter in order to thank fans for their support, writing: “I just want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support.” “Thank you for bearing witness to my story. Thank you for providing me a safe place to be open and vulnerable. I love you all. “Thank you for aiding me in the healing that I so desperately needed.” “I am free now.”
Trump has made some pretty obscene comments on Twitter—but his tweet about LiAngelo Ball , Jalen Hill , and Cody Riley has to be his pettiest comment yet. The three UCLA ballers were arrested and detained on suspicion of shoplifting at a Louis Vuitton store in China and could have been in serious trouble, according to Trump, had he not intervened. Before the public learned the players were to be sent home, Trump told reporters “I had a great conversation with President Xi. What they did was unfortunate. You know, you’re talking about very long prison sentences. They do not play games.” Now, upon their release, no. 45 would like a ‘Thank You’ and credit—and he let that be known via social media. Sadly, we aren’t making any of this up: Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 15, 2017 The failing @nytimes hates the fact that I have developed a great relationship with World leaders like Xi Jinping, President of China….. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 15, 2017 …They should realize that these relationships are a good thing, not a bad thing. The U.S. is being respected again. Watch Trade! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 15, 2017 College athletes Ball, Hill, and Riley were released and allowed to return home to the United States on Tuesday, November 15, and were bombarded by the media upon doing so. Lupita Nyong’o Calls Out Magazine For Editing Her Hair Just like Solange , Lupita isn’t here for magazines deciding what Black hair “should” look like. The award-winning actress did a recent cover shoot for Grazia magazine, with her curls pulled back into a puff-ponytail. However come print time, her wavy roots had been photoshopped smooth, and for whatever reason, the true length of her hair had been edited away. Lupita wasn’t shy about showing the source shots, and letting the mag know she didn’t appreciate them reimagining what her hair looked like… As I have made clear so often in the past with every fiber of my being, I embrace my natural heritage and despite having grown up thinking light skin and straight, silky hair were the standards of beauty, I now know that my dark skin and kinky, coily hair are beautiful too. Being featured on the cover of a magazine fulfills me as it is an opportunity to show other dark, kinky-haired people, and particularly our children, that they are beautiful just the way they are. I am disappointed that @graziauk invited me to be on their cover and then edited out and smoothed my hair to fit their notion of what beautiful hair looks like. Had I been consulted, I would have explained that I cannot support or condone the omission of what is my native heritage with the intention that they appreciate that there is still a very long way to go to combat the unconscious prejudice against black women’s complexion, hair style and texture. #dtmh SMH, when will these mags just let Black hair be? SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — Chilean authorities say they’ve denied former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson entry to the country and are sending him back to the U.S. Chile’s equivalent of the FBI said Thursday that Tyson doesn’t meet requirements for entry, apparently due to his criminal record. Tyson served three years of a six-year sentence in the 1990s for raping a teenage beauty-pageant contestant. He also has been convicted of assault and cocaine possession. The Chilean Police of Investigations also said in a tweet that Interpol agents would escort him to a flight back to the U.S. in the evening. Tyson came to Chile to take part in a promotional event for a TV channel. In 2013, he was forced to scrap promotional appearances in London because the convictions barred him from entering Britain. Tiffany Haddish’s ‘SNL’ Hosting Gig Will Make History Tiffany Haddish is doing the damn thing this year, and her hard work is definitely paying off. She is showing up absolutely everywhere and seems to be having the year of a lifetime. She has her own comedy special on ShowTime, and of course her critically acclaimed performance on “Girls Trip,” and those two are only just the tip of the iceberg. As Tiffany’s run continues, the comedian will make history as she becomes the first black female comedian to host on “Saturday Night Live.” ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Haddish wrote on her Instagram the announcement of the historical moment, writing “This Saturday, 11/11 on #SNL !! Can you believe I will be the very #first black female comedian host?!? #SheReady .” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s hard to believe that in a 43-season long show, not one female black comedian has been tapped to host the show–but they always have had a lot of issues with the diversity of their own cast. Haddish will host the show on this Saturday, the 11th. Unfortunately, Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform as the musical guest that night. Sad. Congrats to Tiffany Haddish for making history with her black girl magic!
Omarosa hasn’t made much news lately, so it’s unclear what her status is these days in the ever-changing Trump White House. However, a recent story has surfaced that indicates that she thinks she’s important. It appears that Omarosa took wedding photos at The White House after she got hitched to Florida pastor John Allen Newman in April. Politico.com first reported the incident . Per Politico: The Apprentice villain turned senior White House official brought members of her 39-person bridal party to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for an extended wedding photo shoot, catching fellow senior aides and some security officials by surprise in her bridal attire. The visitors loudly wandered around, looking to snap photos in the Rose Garden and throughout the West Wing, according to four current and former White House officials. While it’s unclear whether she received formal permission for the photo shoot, at least some lawyers and other senior aides were not briefed in advance, the officials said. They quickly banned Manigault, director of communications for the Office of the Public Liaison, from posting the pictures online, citing security and ethical concerns. The incident — which created buzz in the West Wing for weeks — did little to help the reputation of the Office of Public Liaison, seen by some White House officials as one of the most unruly and under-utilized operations in the West Wing, according to eight current and former White House officials and advisers. The office has floundered for months, these people say, and has drawn particular scrutiny from Chief of Staff John Kelly, who has asked for changes. Like BlackAmericaWeb.com on Facebook . T he tobacco industry’s scheme to get Black people addicted to menthol cigarettes was highlighted in “ Black Lives/Black Lungs ,” a new documentary about the dangers of the flavored smokes, the Spokane Spokesman reported. Nine out of 10 Black smokers prefer menthol cigarettes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention . Filmmaker Lincoln Mondy , 23, examined the menthol cigarette advertising blitz that began since the 1950s. As a bi-racial child, Mondy said he noticed his White relatives tended to smoke non-menthol cigarettes and used chewing tobacco. On the other side of the family, his Black relatives used menthol cigarettes exclusively. Sen. Ed Markey calling for ban on menthol cigarettes, arguing tobacco ads target African-Americans. https://t.co/8KQ0ngBeCr pic.twitter.com/70hFiZFzG6 — WBZ Boston News (@cbsboston) August 26, 2017 The tobacco industry’s strategy included giving money to Black politicians, scholarships to African-American students and support for Black cultural events, Mondy’s film also revealed. The consequences have been devastating. African-Americans die from diseases related to tobacco use at a higher rate than Whites, even though Blacks smoke fewer cigarettes and start smoking at an older age than White people do, according to the CDC. Cigarette makers are not the only industry under fire for targeting the Black community. Earlier this year, two pastors from the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit in D.C. Superior Court against Coca-Cola and the American Beverage Association, CBS News reported. According to the ministers, the soda industry shares a huge part of the responsibility for the diabetes epidemic that has swept through minority communities because the industry targets African-Americans and Hispanics.
