Email Submit Cardi’s Cinderella story begins on Instagram, where the Bronx star would take to the platform to “tell it how it is” in a series of hilarious rants. Her social media fame and millions of followers opened the doors for her success on VH1’s ‘Love & Hip Hop’ series. Through her stint on TV, we learned that the former stripper was seeking a career in rapping, and eventually left the franchise to pursue her dream. To the entire world’s surprise, Cardi became a pop culture phenom, scoring award after award and hit after hit. But now, exhausted from the microscope of celebrity, Cardi is seeking to return to her roots as the ‘regular degular’ girl who didn’t feel pressured by society’s opinion of her. One fan took to Twitter to tell the new mom that she doesn’t like the message she sends to young girls. “I love you ALOT but I don’t agree with the messages you’ve been sending us young girls. So many of us look at you as a role model and that should send a very loud message,” the Twitter user wrote. I love you ALOT but I don't agree with the messages you've been sending us young girls. So many of us look at you as a role model and that should send a very loud message. — Kenidra4Humanity (@KenidraRWoods_) April 6, 2019 The Grammy award winning lyricist responded to her fan saying, she’s over not being herself. “For these past two years I been watching what I say and I haven’t been myself. I been feeling trap and sad cause it’s not ME but everybody tell me to be it for me to be this “role model” and guess what? People still spit my past right in my face so for now imma be my old self again,” she explained. In the clip, you see workers taking down the Kodak Black art installation while attendees watched, but the footage abruptly ends after a security guard told the person to stop recording. It’s nice to see T.I. following up on his promises to hold the Florida native accountable for his controversial actions. The removal of Kodak’s presence from the museum comes after Tip called him out for shooting his shot at Lauren London on Instagram live less than a week after Nipsey Hussle passed away. During an Instagram live video on Monday, Kodak seemingly responded to being removed from the museum and—surprise surprise—he didn’t seem to think it was that big of a deal. The rapper remarked, “B**ch, I didn’t give you permission to put me up there anyways.” [ione_media_gallery src=”https://rickeysmileymorningshow.com” id=”1987759″ overlay=”true”] ALSO TRENDING ON RICKEYSMILEYMORNINGSHOW.COM : Lauren London Breaks Silence On Nipsey’s Death Someone Leaked A Photo Of Jay Z and Beyonce’s Kids! Nipsey Hussle Fans: Harassing Daughter of Chris Darden!

When the suspected killer of Nipsey Hussle pleaded not guilty to all charges, he didn’t do so alone. By his side was his attorney, Chris Darden, who gained fame and notoriety decades ago as a prosecutor during the O.J. Simpson trial. Now, misguided Nipsey fans are bombarden Darden’s daughter with hate on Instagram, and she is speaking out. “I’ve been receiving vile comments and messages,” Jenee Darden’s heartbreaking post begins. This has been happening “since news broke that my father, Chris Darden, is the defense attorney for the man accused of killing Nipsey Hussle.” “Like many of you,” Jenee writes. “I found out about my father’s involvement in the case while scrolling through social media.” “I was not prepared for this backlash,” she admits. Jenee adds that he vitriol directed at her “has triggered bad memories from the O.J. Simpson trial.” “My father is a grown man,” Jenee points out. “And has been a defense attorney for some time.” In case it was not obvious, she reminds anyone reading her message: “I have no say in the cases he takes on.” Jenee adds that she knows better than most “why it hurts so deeply when we lose talented, young Black men.” She is a black woman herself and a journalist with a real passion for matters of justice. She asks that Nipsey’s fans “channel that energy toward continuing Nipsey’s legacy in strengthening our communities and lifting up each other.” When Nipsey says that her comments have been flooded with hate, she’s not kidding. It took us mere seconds to find examples. “So your dad is representing the killer of Nipsey???” writes on commenter. “Wowwww.” “Your dad is scum,” declares another, who decided to make their opinion her business. “YOUR FATHER IS A COWARD AND A TRAITOR TO HIS OWN PEOPLE!” accuses another. That same hater writes: “ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE! F–KING DISGUSTING!” Each of these particular comments was under an Instagram post about Jenee’s excitement about Avengers: Endgame . In reality, Jenee herself had already posted multiple times mourning Nipsey before she or anyone else knew who Eric Holder’s attorney was. “When our Black men are taken from us, the women left behind have to carry a different weight of grief,” Jenee acknowledged in one post. “I feel bad Lauren London is going through this,” she expressed. Jenee wrote: “As she grieves, she has to be strong for her children. I hope she has support.” In conclusion, she asked: “When we go learn to stop killing each other?” In another post, Jenee drew parallels between Nipsey and another talented artist of color who was taken from the world too soon. “Selena was murdered March 31, 1995,” she wrote. “Nipsey Hussle was murdered March 31 2019.” “They both died over some cruel and pathetic person’s brittle, insecure ego,” Jenee accused. Selena died when a fan who managed Selena’s boutiques was caught embezzling and murdered her. Nipsey was allegedly shot multiple times in the head and chest by an acquaintance, Eric Holder, following a personal dispute. So, first of all, we should point out that people are lashing out at Jenee because she’s within arm’s reach, so to speak. She’s not representing Eric Holder — her father is. She’s an unfair target. Additionally, even if Chris Darden were on Instagram to receive these vicious messages, it’s not really about him being an attorney. People are grieving the loss of Nipsey and they just want to express their anger at a deserving target. With Holder in prison, they’re directing their fury at the easiest target. It’s terrible, and it happens all of the time. Secondly, suggesting that Chris Darden doesn’t care about his fellow black people is both vile and absurd. The racial dynamic of the O.J. Simpson trial may have been the first time in history that a man got away with murder because he was black. Tragically, there have been countless cases of innocent men convicted because they were black, both before and since. Also, Eric Holder is a black man. Chris Darden is representing him. He’s doing his job as a defense attorney. That’s it. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Jesus Take The Wheel: 3 Historically Black Churches In Louisiana Have Burned Down In Past 10 Days

Source: Renee Colombel / EyeEm / Getty 3 Black Churches Is St. Landry Parish Burned In The Past 10 Days Have you heard about this story? Probably not, wonder why that is… According to NYTimes , three historically Black churches have been set ablaze in the past ten days in the Louisiana parish of St. Landry. Police have found what are being described as “suspicious elements” at each crime scene and haven’t ruled out arson or the idea that all three crimes are related. “There is clearly something happening in this community,” State Fire Marshal H. Browning said in a statement on Thursday. “That is why it is imperative that the citizens of this community be part of our effort to figure out what it is.” All three fires happened on March 26 and a fourth fire was set that same Thursday that was said to be intentionally set in a the parish of Caddo. When it comes to suspects, motive, and potential hate crimes, the local police seem to be lost in the sauce. “There certainly is a commonality, and whether that leads to a person or persons or groups, we just don’t know,” Mr. Browning said at a news conference on Thursday. St. Landry is reportedly 56% white and 41% Black, but race relations are said to generally be good. But who are we kidding, it’s the deep South, racism is always a possibility. We hope that the cops figure out wtf is going on before another church burns or someone gets hurt or killed.

Why So Serious? New ‘Joker’ Trailer Sparks MULTIPLE Debates On Social Media

See the original post here:

Source: Splash News / Splash News On Tuesday, director Todd Phillips previewed footage for his upcoming Joker movie at CinemaCon, the national convention of theater owners. The following day, the teaser trailer was released to the masses and of course, major commentary ensued. Joaquin Phoenix will take on the role of the Joker after a slew of notable roles in flicks like The Sisters Brothers, Her , and The Master , which earned him an Academy Award nomination. In the trailer for Joker , Phoenix seems destined to show off his acting chops with an eerie tale of a man pushed to the edge by society. Peep the clip for yourself below.   The trailer immediately received praise from certain folks, with many excited about the film’s psychological elements and acting. I’m so excited to see this movie! Joaquin Phoenix looks amazing! #Joker #DCUNIVERSE #DC #JoaquinPhoenix pic.twitter.com/Pesl2KkCXh — Caleb Ramos (@Darth_Ramos) April 3, 2019 Creating the Joker in 1989: Just throw him in chemical waste. Creating the Joker in 2019: Just throw him in society. #JokerMovie — shinobi602 (@shinobi602) April 3, 2019   However, along with the praise came numerous debates and random observations. Some veered on the hilarious side while others seemed to get quite heated. First off, there was some actor spotting throughout the trailer that definitely got people excited. Atlanta stars Brian Tyree Henry and Zazie Beetz especially made waves for a lot of folks… Wait. Did we know Brian Tyree Henry was gonna be in this!? #JokerMovie pic.twitter.com/qrgs2JEyZS — William Goodman (@goodmanw) April 3, 2019 The most important thing about the JOKER trailer to me: Brian Tyree Henry is in this movie. No one told me this. — Pinky Tuscadero (@jumpedforjoi) April 3, 2019 getting word on brian tyree henry and zazie beetz so looks like i just bought JOKER tickets — aliya jones (@ALlYAJONESS) April 3, 2019   Robert De Niro also makes a cameo in the trailer as an entertainment host, which caused people to recall his celebrated 1982 role in King of Comedy,  directed by Martin Scorsese . The King of Comedy (1982) / JOKER (2019) #RobertDeNiro pic.twitter.com/abBz0v9FHX — Ry Reviews (@RyReviews) April 3, 2019   In King of Comedy, De Niro plays a failing comedian who kidnaps a talk show host to boost his fame. It’s possible the deranged elements of the black comedy could make its way into the Joker film. Fans also couldn’t help but compare the Joker trailer to another Scorsese movie….1976’s Taxi Driver. In this psychological thriller, De Niro plays a taxi driver with insomnia who plots the assassination of a presidential candidate and the rescue of an underaged sex slave from her pimp. In the flick, De Niro’s character, Travis Bickle, keeps a diary similar to the one Phoenix keeps in the Joker trailer. Twitter users immediately started making the comparisons… THE JOKER X TAXI DRIVER PART 2 pic.twitter.com/FMlycAV3P3 — Jamie Righetti (@JamieRighetti) April 3, 2019 Right: Taxi Driver Left: #Joker Joaquin Phoenix going full Travis Bickle. https://t.co/cLIHJ0klWB pic.twitter.com/AZsKw1p0Nn — Zack Sharf (@ZSharf) April 3, 2019   With the psychological elements of the Joker trailer, it was difficult not to politicize the movie either. Debates were already brewing about what it means to have a mentally disturbed White man go violent. JOKER, a film where you're supposed to sympathize with a mediocre white man radicalized into deranged violence, will no doubt be appealing to the wrong audience for the worst reasons. — Alan Zilberman (@alanzilberman) April 3, 2019 Like Jorden Peele said, “I've seen that movie.” Joker has nothing to offer but more cultural fodder to empathize with evil white dudes. With Trump as president and so many white male terrorists being profiled as “good kids” gone bad. I am DONE with this shit. — Octavia Butler Predicted This MAGA Dystopia (@MsGo) April 3, 2019 No thanks, the Joker movie. If I want to hear about a white guy who starts murdering people because he got picked on, I’ll just watch the news. — The Volatile Mermaid (@OhNoSheTwitnt) April 3, 2019   Then finally, much of the talk wasn’t so much about who was in the movie, but who was missing. And it seems folks still can’t let go of the late great Heath Ledger, who played the Joker in 2008’s The Dark Knight . I’m sorry but Heath Ledger will always be The Joker to me. pic.twitter.com/OdUklgH2d6 — Coti Howell (@CotiHowell) April 3, 2019 Heath Ledger’s Joker was so good the character should be retired — Nate Hill (@NateHillTV) April 3, 2019 If it aint Heath Ledger I dont want it. https://t.co/J98SNr8rBf — T (@ThackerTy) April 3, 2019   Things got pretty heated… heath ledger and joaquin phoenix trying to outact each other as joker pic.twitter.com/Egl06eCwMo — raven (@cilliansjawline) April 3, 2019   Some people even brought Jared Leto ‘s Joker from Suicide Squad into the fight. I suspect this is how the definitive Joker list will shape up: GREAT JOKERS: Joaquin Phoenix, Heath Ledger, Mark Hamill GOOD JOKERS: Jack Nicholson, Cesar Romero SHITTY JOKER: Jared Leto — Nick Kolakowski (@nkolakowski) April 3, 2019 Jared Leto’s Joker > > > > > > > > Heath Ledger’s crappy Joker —

Trump Has A New Trick To Win The Black Vote, But Will It Work This Time?

Read more from the original source:

D onald Trump appears to have a new trick up his sleeve to finally win the Black vote despite the president’s open embrace of white supremacy . See Also: Meet Trump’s African-American Guests For His State Of The Union Address In his political ploy to be seen as a leader in criminal justice reform, Trump paraded several Black felons on stage during a press conference on Monday to promote his proposed second phase of the First Step Act. The bill, which passed in December and aims to reduce the number of incarcerated people. Trump said Monday that a “Second Step Act” will focus on “successful re-entry and reduced unemployment for Americans with past criminal records.” He noted that ex-convicts with criminal backgrounds are unemployed at rates up to five times the national average. In fact, African-American male felons are more disadvantaged than any other demographic group. He touted passage of the First Step Act during his State of the Union Address in February, but details of the measure were worked out by a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers and President Barack Obama before Trump took office. As the national movement to restore felon voting rights picks up steam, Trump likely sees an opportunity to capitalize on the votes of Black felons and their families who benefit from his proposed legislation. At the press conference, Trump called Gregory Allen , who was released from prison early under the First Step Act, to the microphone. Allen called Trump’s so-called leadership on prison reform and his second chance as an example of what would “make America great again.” Powerful moment from @realDonaldTrump ’s Prison Reform Summit. Gregory Allen, one the people who have benefited from the #FirstStepAct explained, “Two months ago, I was in a prison cell and [now] I'm in the White House. Let’s continue to make America great again!” pic.twitter.com/0qioKSBUMN — Ronna McDaniel (@GOPChairwoman) April 2, 2019 Iowa is one of the latest states to take steps to restore felon voting right. The Iowa House last Thursday overwhelmingly passed a proposed constitutional amendment to grant voting rights to the ex-convicts. Alabama’s felons displayed the power of their newly restored rights in the 2017 election that helped to sweep Democrat Doug Jones into the U.S. Senate in one the nation’s reddest states. The biggest prize would be in the swing state of Florida where a 2018 referendum restored felon voting rights . Up to 1.4 million felons—disproportionately African-American—regained their rights to cast ballots under the referendum, reversing an 18th-century law that made it nearly impossible for felons to vote after serving their time in prison. Florida, which has banned more felons from voting than any other state, was blocking 21.5 percent of African-Americans from casting ballots , achieving the goals of felony disenfranchisement laws that were  historically intended to reduce Black voting power . White House senior adviser Jared Kushner , Trump’s son-in-law, told Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday that felons are part of the new coalition that Trump is building for re-election. At the press conference, Alice Marie Johnson , who had her l ife sentence commuted by Trump after Kim Kardashian lobbied the president, came up on stage to embrace Trump.
