A day care worker accused of raping a child was arraigned Monday. Heather Koon, 25, of Elyria, faced one count of rape for each of two cases. She was assigned a $1 million bond on each count for a total of $2 million. Koon was also ordered not to have any contact with any minor child. She was arrested by Lorain County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday. Their investigation started just the day before. “There’s two individuals that we’re looking at. We still have a lot more to do. This is an open investigation and we have a long ways to go yet,” said Chief Deputy Dennis Cavanaugh. Koon was arrested at a home in Oberlin, the same home where convicted sex offender Chief Deputy Dennis Cavanaugh lives. He was locked up in September for unrelated charges. It’s unclear how the two know each other. “To know they live right across the street from me…I have a grandson that comes to visit, he just turned a year old,” said Helen Fields. Fields lives across the street from Osborne. She said it’s disturbing to think anyone could do something like that. The sheriff’s office wouldn’t share many details, but did confirm that the victim went to ABC Kidz Child Care in Elyria, the same place where Koon has worked since March. “I’m glad I didn’t have my kids there. I mean, that’s tragic. Who would be that sickening to want to do something like that?” said Lavar Thron, who lives near the day care. Koon was being held in the Lorain County Jail. Fifty Shades of Grey fans’ petition to replace Charlie Hunnam with Matt Bomer as lead character Christian Grey is flattering, the latter said in an interview. “I’m so grateful for all the fans and touched,” he tells Entertainment Tonight , however, “I’m looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota.” Fans didn’t exactly scream in ecstasy when they learned Hunnam and Dakota Johnson were cast in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Some took action. A Change (dot) org petition begged producers to cast Bomer as kinky-yet-sensitive billionaire Christian and Alexis Bledel as his willing sex toy Anastasia Steele. Bomer politely declined to take up the cause, but the White Collar star did say he’s excited to explore the bad boy side of his TV character more this year. On one hand, Chris Brown beat the heck out of Rihanna a few years ago. On the other, he helped Justin Bieber with his skateboarding ramp, so… “Breezy spray painted my half pipe. He’s super dope,” the 19-year old wrote as a caption to the following Instagram photo yesterday, continuing to build on a friendship that may not win over many fans. The Bieber and Brown bromance goes back a few months. In May, the former Tweeted out a pair of him and the controversial artist, while Brown gave a radio interview in April that compared his negative media attention to that of The Biebs. “I pray for him, I pray for myself,” Brown told Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club at the time. “I think we both go through it, because we’re great artists and he’s a big artist to his fans.” The pair also collaborated on the track “Next 2 U” in 2011 and both contributed verses on an Asher Roth single in June.
