Remember Me’s Twist Ending (SPOILERS)

This was totally out of the blue. The Best Links: In the absence of any time-marking signposts, viewers are led to believe that Remember Me is set in the present — but it’s really 2001. At movie’s end, after having a fight with de Ravin, Pattinson’s character takes an elevator to his father’s 92nd-floor office on a bright September morning, looks out the window, and watches helplessly as American Airlines Flight 11 hits the building. That’s right — Robert Pattinson dies in 9/11. View

‘American Idol’ Top Eight Men: What They Need To Do

Todrick Hall and Aaron Kelly appear to be on the bubble of this year’s top 12. By Gil Kaufman Andrew Garcia, Alex Lambert, Aaron Kelly and Lee Dewyze Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images For the most part, the ladies brought it on Tuesday night’s “American Idol” and early front-runners are definitely emerging in Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus and Lilly Scott. On Wednesday night (March 10), it’s the guys’ turn again, as we speed toward Thursday’s elimination, when season nine’s top 12 will be determined. Last week’s switcheroo due to Crystal Bowersox’s illness didn’t throw the guys off, though a few of the men turned in performances that were barely enough to keep them in the running. So what do the rest of the men need to do to win the hearts — and ears — of the nation? How can they get enough votes to avoid landing in the bottom two? Here’s what we do (and don’t) want to see from these “Idol” hopefuls, starting with those who need the most work. Aaron Kelly Being cute will only get you so far. Though he has the Archu-dorable factor, teen Kelly is proving to truly be this year’s unripe banana. His “My Girl” was instantly forgettable, and he’s turning into one of those semifinalists who doesn’t really have a musical portfolio. He’s tried country and old-school R&B, but if Kelly wants to make the top 12, he needs to show the panel he’s got a lane of his own. How about a killer Simon & Garfunkel cover (since most of this year’s Idols seem stuck in the past) or something by Kris Allen? Tim Urban Unless this kid has been taking voice lessons from the ghost of Jeff Buckley all week, it doesn’t really matter what Tim does, because he’s just killing time at this point. He might not go this week, but he’s further proof that being adorable can get you into the semifinals but not much further. Urban is the weakest male link, so he might as well blast off with a blaze of glory with something ridiculous like “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” Todrick Hall With Jermaine Sellers gone , dancer Hall remains as the loose cannon in the bunch. His confidence hasn’t yet meshed with a breakout performance, and though his sedate take on Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do With It” was interesting, Hall has been the judges’ punching bag to date. Unless he kills it, say with a seductive Usher throw-down, Hall could be the next to go. Casey James Speaking of cute, James is still trying to shake off the whole cougar-bait thing, but his limp rendition of the too-frequent “Idol” cover “I Don’t Want to Be” didn’t exactly show off his rock chops. Regardless, assuming he doesn’t completely tank, Casey will likely make the top 12. He should, however, soar by proving his grit this week with something edgier. How about an unplugged Kid Rock tune? Lee Dewyze He’s the token rocker, which is a good place to be this year, because he’s got virtually no competition. Dewyze is on a hot streak, and he’s got Simon on his side, so he should play it safe this week to ensure a top 12 berth. He’s done well playing his acoustic guitar, so maybe a Kings of Leon song would work for him. Andrew Garcia What happened to you, man? Garcia seemed a shoo-in for the top three, but he’s gotten steadily diminishing returns thanks to sleepy song choices, like James Morrison’s “You Give Me Something,” which find him fading into the pack. He needs another “Straight Up,” pronto! Now’s the best time to wow the judges again with a clever (re)arrangement of a classic — perhaps a folky version of Jane’s Addiction’s “Been Caught Stealing”? Michael Lynche He’s not blowing anyone away, but slow-and-steady Lynche is getting it done every week. He’s likeable, solid and very comfortable onstage. Big Mike is almost certainly going to advance, so a bit more of what the judges already like, perhaps a touch of Maxwell on acoustic guitar, could ensure his spot. Alex Lambert Either Lambert is pulling a rope-a-dope and is planning to emerge as a camera-ready superstar from his mullet-duckling persona, or we’re reading too much into his phoenix-like rise from the ashes of two twitchy weeks ago. He nailed John Legend’s “Everybody Knows” last week, and a command performance of a Robin Thicke tune might cement his blue-eyed soul bona fides. What do you want to see from the guys on Wednesday night? Who do you hope steps up their game this week? Let us know below! Lady Antebellum Take Back Top Billboard Spot From Sade

‘American Idol’ finalist Danny Gokey debuts at #4. By Gil Kaufman Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now Photo: Liberty After a three-week run at the top, Sade ‘s Soldier of Love will be replaced at #1 on the Billboard albums chart by the very album she vanquished last month, Lady Antebellum ‘s Need You Now. The country trio’s second CD will retake the top spot thanks to sales of 126,000, while Sade will drop down a spot after moving 79,000 more units for sales of nearly 900,000 in four weeks, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. Though he sold a bit less than Kris Allen did in his first week, last season’s #4 finisher on “American Idol,” Danny Gokey , had a solid debut at #4 (65,000) with My Best Days a week after appearing on the show; Allen’s self-titled album debuted at #11 on sales of 70,000 in November. Also breaking into the top five was country star Blake Shelton , whose Hillbilly Bone landed at #3 (71,000). The soundtrack to Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” re-imagining, Almost Alice — featuring songs from Avril Lavigne, the All-American Rejects, Owl City, Tokio Hotel and All Time Low — sold 58,000 copies to debut at #5, followed by the latest from rockers Lifehouse , Smoke & Mirrors (#6, 54,000). The third album from R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn , The Love & War MasterPeace, debuted at #9 (45,000), just ahead of country newbie Easton Corbin ‘s self-titled debut (#10, 43,000). The only holdovers in the top 10 were Lady Gaga ‘s unstoppable The Fame (#7, 49,000), which is zeroing in on 3 million in sales, and the Black Eyed Peas ‘ The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) (#8, 46,000). Just outside the top 10, Jason Derulo ‘s self-titled debut hit #11 on sales of 42,000. As he begins his one-year prison sentence , Lil Wayne ‘s Rebirth will fall six spots to #12 (32,000), just ahead of Ke$ha ‘s Animal, which drops six to #13 (30,000) as sales approach half a million. Also falling out of the top 10 is Justin Bieber ‘s My World (27,000), which slid five spots to #15. Among the other debuts this week: DJ Khaled ‘s Victory (#14, 28,000), Peter Gabriel ‘s covers album, Scratch My Back (#26, 20,000) and a live album from long-running shamrock punks Flogging Molly , Live at the Greek Theatre (#40, 13,000). Meanwhile, showing the power of another amazing viral video, OK Go ‘s Of the Blue Colour of the Sky moved back onto the lower reaches of the charts to #179 after six weeks out of the top 200 thanks to the massive coverage of their Rube Goldberg-ian clip for “This Too Shall Pass.” Look for a shakeup at the top next week as new albums from Gorillaz , Ludacris and country singer Gary Allan crash the charts. Mila Kunis’s Hotness Makes Life More Enjoyable

Mila Kunis has got to be one of the cutest women in Hollywood, not too cute that I wouldn’t do rotten things to her in the bedroom, but cute enough to take to church if I were a religious man and not hungover every Sunday morning and my grandmother forced me to go because she’s proud of me and wants to show me off to her blue haired friends. Anyhow, here she is at some Vera Wang event looking absolutely stunning as usual. I want to impregnate her, or at least try to impregnate her, I’m pretty sure I’m shooting blanks.

Jay-Z Will Never Respond To Beanie Sigel’s Dis, Memphis Bleek Says

Former Roc-A-Fella rapper calls Beans’ recent comments ‘pointless,’ in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Memphis Bleek Photo: MTV News The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive By the time you read this, Memphis Bleek will have flown out of New Jersey and landed in Florida to meet Jay-Z. The two are rehearsing for the next leg of the Blueprint 3 Tour for the next couple of days, and the real thing kicks off this weekend. Although we haven’t heard a lot of Memph’s music the last three years, he has constantly been performing at Jay-Z’s shows and keeping a close bond with the cat he used to borrow sugar from in the Marcy Projects. When Bleek drops his next album, The Process, later this year, things will be different. The independent release will be his first album not coming through Roc-A-Fella records. “It was mutual,” Bleek said about not signing with Hov’s Roc Nation and choosing to go independent. “It was a conversation … I was asking him his next move. What is he gonna do? Where is Blueprint 3 coming out, since he had just left Def Jam. He was telling me he was doing this Roc Nation thing. He was trying to start a whole new venture, new label, new brand — a whole new everything. I was like, ‘Damn. What’s next for me?’ He was like, ‘Whatever you wanna do.’ After a little bit of thinking, I came to a decision: ‘It’s time for [my company] Get Lo to breathe. I can’t be under that umbrella forever.’ The conversation was more or less mutual. “He’s giving me the free will to do whatever I want to do,” added Bleek, who said Just Blaze produced two songs on his upcoming LP. “Time for me to prove myself on my terms.” Obviously, with Bleek and Jay, their relationship is based on more than music. Bleek said he thought Beanie Sigel and Jay had that same bond. Just like many fans, Memph said he was shocked that Beans came out dissing him and Jay . Just this week, during a live show in Philadelphia, Beans spit his flames at Jay and Bleek again, rapping, “Memph Bleek pee the sheets/ Leave the bed all wetty.” “My thing is, what’s the purpose?” Bleek said about Sigel’s outburst. “You said all you had to say. You said you wasn’t gonna say no more until Jay called you. He ain’t call. Everything you said ain’t adding up. It becomes a point, what are you doing it for? Are you doing it to get you a deal? Are you doing it to get you hot, doing it to get you back on the radio? That’s all I wanna know. Anybody knows if you come at Hov, you’re not stopping his movement. C’mon, it’s stupid. We been there before. We seen this movie. I hate to elaborate on it, because it’s like I’m breathing life on a situation that really don’t need no life to it.” Bleek said he spoke to Beans the night before the Powerhouse show in Philadelphia last year, and the Broad Street Bully gave him no indication that there was any ill will. “For it to come out the blue like this, it was like, ‘Oh, this is what you really was thinking?’ ” Bleek said. “When Ice Cube left N.W.A, it was automatic dis records. Automatic. They was coming at each other. The Roc had split up in 2003. We in 2010. Seven years later, you wanna dis? It’s pointless. It’s no truth to it. ‘Jay is this, Jay is foul.’ Jay is not foul. This is what I tell everybody: Opportunity is worth more than a check. So that’s what people need to understand. He gave the opportunity to get rich. It ain’t about the check he didn’t give you. I didn’t get it. The check you waiting for, I’m waiting for too then. My opportunity is to be able to do this interview with you, still be relevant, be onstage with that man and even be a part of history and what we did. That’s more than any dollar amount. You can push it however far you gonna carry it.” With all that has transpired lately, Bleek said the chances of mending any fences with Sig are less than bleak. “Could it ever be mended? Jay is gone,” Bleek said. “I could sit down with Beans. You wanna holla with me, he knows how to get in contact with me. I’m out here. Jay’s gone. Ain’t no time to look back. Where [Jay’s] at, no time to look back. If Jay looks back, it’s the back of the G5 [jet], luggage. He’s gone. We don’t need that. Where’s the problem? When [all the Roc-A-Fella artists] signed their release paper and went their separate ways, it was no problem. Now it’s a problem. Why do you need to talk?” As for the footage that recently hit the Net of Bleek and former Roc co-CEO Damon Dash showing each other love in Europe, Bleek said that video was old. “That was almost three years ago,” he clarified. “We was on the Water for Life Tour . I knew all that was gonna come out. I thought it was gonna come out before. Like I say to anybody else, Dame is a cool dude. Dame did things for me in my career I could never take back. I could never down him for nothing.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Related Videos Mixtape Daily: Jerry Jones, Jay-Z, Eminem, More
