Frank Ocean Claps Back At Grammy Producers And Taylor Swift Goes Down In The Crossfire Go ahead and crown Frank Ocean the Clapback King. The Blonde singer has been outspoken about his decision to skip the 2017 Grammy’s . When the public learned he opted not to submit his music for nomination , he told the NY Times “the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated.” Ocean added, “I’d rather this be my Colin Kaepernick moment for the Grammys than sit there in the audience.” Colin Kaepernick eh? In any case, the trouble all started this time around when Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich and writer David Wild went on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast to promote this year’s show and address controversy. Being that the big controversy this year is all these “URBAN” artists skipping the show — of course they were asked about it. Wild responded by specifically calling out Frank’s awkward 2013 “Forrest Gump” performance: “Frank had a very definite idea of exactly what he wanted to do and how he wanted to do it,” Wild said. “Ken said, that’s not great TV, and what he’s taught all of us is, ‘We’re not putting on a radio show … you have to make it a TV moment.’ And he knew from the start that that was not one of those moments.” Ouch. And if that’s not bad enough — Ehrlich added that Ocean was “rigid” about his concept: “and we executed his vision knowing that it was faulty. And we tried to tell him that, we tried to tell his management that, we tried to tell the record label that. So, his feelings about the Grammys right now, I would imagine, probably go back to that in one way. But honestly, it wasn’t us.” So yeah, as you can imagine, Frank had some things to say in response. He took to his Tumblr to air it all out. After conceding that his 2013 performance was “absolute sh**” he claps back directly at Ehrlich and Wild’s comments. Here’s the highlight: You know what’s really not “great tv” guys? ‘1989’ Getting Album of the Year over ‘To Pimp A Butterfly.’ Hands down one of the most ‘faulty’ TV moments I’ve seen. Believe the people. Believe the ones who’d rather watch select perfromances from your program on YouTube the day after because your show puts them to sleep… If you’re up for a discussion about the cultural bias and general nerve damage the show you produce suffers from then I’m all for it. This Patriots Tight End Is Worthy Of Our Admiration Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett says he’ll skip out on a visit to the White House if the team is extended an invitation in honor of their Super Bowl win. “It is what it is People know how I feel about it,” Bennett told the Dallas Morning News , when asked if he’d attend a White House celebration. “Just follow me on Twitter.” Earlier in the week, Bennett told another Dallas MN reporter he wouldn’t attend a White House event: “Because I don’t support the guy in the house,” he said. It’s been well documented that both Patriots owner Bob Kraft and quarterback Tom Brady are friends and supporters of Donald Trump but Bennett says he isn’t concerned about Kraft’s disapproval. “I’m not really worried about that,” Bennett said. “I’m not worried about it at all.” Bennett says he doesn’t bring political talk to the locker room. “You just don’t bring that to work,” he said. “We all have our beliefs. We accept people for who they are.” We can see why that is. Brady does have to throw him the ball after all. Check out the show description from Variet y: “Claws” follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous manicurists working at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon in South Florida, where there is a lot more going on than silk wraps and pedicures. At the center is salon owner Desna (Nash), who lives with and cares for her mentally ill twin brother, Dean (Perrineau). Desna’s staff includes best friend Jennifer (Lyon), a tenuously sober ex-party girl raising two children from previous relationships; Quiet Ann (Reyes), Desna’s enigmatic driver who also provides security for the salon; Polly (Preston), a mild-mannered preppy who recently served time in prison for identity theft; and Virginia (Tran), who makes no effort to hide her boredom and impatience with her job. Adding chaos to the Nail Artisan mix is Roller (Kesy), a gangstered-out redneck who runs a barely legal pain clinic and uses Desna’s nail salon to launder the obscene profits; Bryce (Rankin), Jennifer’s husband who is also newly sober and trying to stay legit by working as an abundance coach; and Dr. Ken Brickman (Antoon), a bona fide doctor at a decidedly un-bona fide and illegal drug clinic.
Donald Trump Fires Attorney General For Refusing Muslim Ban Trump has already gone full The Apprentice mode. Only 10 days in office and this guy is already tossing challenges at the American Public and firing people who piss him off over his ridiculous demands. First on the chopping block was Attorney General Sally Yates, who got canned after refusing to defend his controversial Muslim Ban executive order in court before a Federal Judge , instead noting that she wasn’t entirely sure that it was legal, and was fairly sure it wasn’t right on a basic human level. Via NYPost : The firing came hours after Yates directed Justice Department attorneys not to defend the executive order, saying she was not convinced it was lawful or consistent with the agency’s “obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right.” In a statement, Trump said Yates had “betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States.” He named longtime federal prosecutor Dana Boente as Yates’ replacement. This could prove to be the first in a long string of firings, as a lot of Washington don’t agree with the ruling. In fact, some of Trump’s top advisers have privately noted they were not even consulted about the policy. SMH. Getty/AP
