With the mothership sinking, E! is hoping a daughter can come to its rescue. As previously noted several times over the past few weeks, ratings for Keeping Up with the Kardashians have been plummeting throughout Season 13. While fans ponder whether the end is finally near for this nauseating mainstay, the network has confirmed that Kylie Jenner has officially signed up for her long-rumored spinoff . It will be titled Life of Kylie. (Because it’s about time we were taken inside the life of this notoriously private young woman, right?) The 19-year old, of course, has exploded out of the shadow of sister Kim Kardashian over the past couple years. She heads up a wildly successful cosmetics brand… she often makes news for her roller coaster relationship with Tyga … and she has over 91.1 million Instagram followers. Teases E! News about the latest Kardashian-Jenner spinoff: If you’ve ever wondered what’s it’s really like to be Kylie, wonder no more. The new show, premiering this summer, will expose a personal, more intimate side of makeup entrepreneur as she manages her celebrity persona, multi-million dollar company and, well, just being a teenager. We’d add that if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be Kylie, well, you need to get out a lot more often. “These couple years have been such an incredible journey with the support of my fans,” Kylie says of the impending series, adding as a preview: “This show will allow me to give them a peek inside all of the exciting things I am working on as well as some personal time with friends.” Producers say that Life with Kylie will highlight Kylie’s relationships with her family members and closest friends, including Jordyn Woods; it is scheduled for an eight-episode opening season. “Kylie’s beauty, business savvy and fashion icon status have made her one of the most famous and successful young women on the planet,” Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Programming & Development at E!, says. “Kylie has achieved so much at such a young age and we know the E! audience will be thrilled now that she is ready to share an inside look at her everyday life.” Kylie’s very own show has been an assumed inevitability for years. When Michael Strahan broke the single-season sack record in 2002, most observers believed he was given preferential treatment by Brett Favre. The quarterback, a close friend of the defensive lineman’s, very clearly ran right at Strahan and then basically fell down in order to ensure Strahan recorded sack number 22.5. But that’s nothing compared to the preferential treatment sources claim Strahan is receiving from producers at Good Morning America. “They roll out the carpet for him, while seasoned talent is treated like dirt,” a source tells Page Six of The New York Post of Strahan , adding: “He’s been given a lot of opportunity [and] flexibility, when the others who have been working there longer don’t get that kind of treatment.” Interesting, huh? Strahan, of course, bolted for GMA under somewhat controversial circumstances. About a year ago, ABC announced that Strahan would leave Live with Kelly and Michael for a new, permanent role on its flagship morning program. But Kelly Ripa only learned about this departure at the last second, causing her to react with anger… causing major tension between the co-hosts for the duration of Strahan’s role on Live… and then causing him to depart the program four months earlier than originally planned. He debuted on GMA in September and was welcomed with open arms at the time by Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. That was then, however. Now? Strahan signed a unique deal that allows him to continue to analyze football at Fox during the NFL season and also host ABC’s “$100,000 Pyramid.” Such an arrangement has alienated Strahan from his GMA colleagues, as has his alleged behavior on set. Lara Spencer “feels like her role has been minimized with Strahan,” Page Six writes, with the insider explaining: There’s not a lot of love between the two. They know how to put it on for the cameras, but he’s doing a lot of what Lara should be doing [on the show] and she’s not happy. She’s the pop person.” Stephanopoulos has also had it with Strahan. “He’s bored with the fluff,” the newspaper claims of Stephanopoulos, a former political operative who doesn’t like the direction Strahan has taken the show in. “He goes into work, does the show and leaves by 8:57 a.m. He doesn’t interact. He’s been phoning it in for quite some time.” However, an ABC News executive was given a chance to respond and disputed a lot of this account. First, regarding Strahan and Spencer, he or she says the following: “That’s just bullsh-t. They get along great. She loves having someone with his sense of humor on the show. Michael is lovely with the staff. As for the assertion that Stephanopoulos isn’t giving it his all at work? “The idea that George is phoning it in is absurd,” this same source says, adding: He gets to GMA at, like, 3 in the morning. He works 16 hours a day. He goes home because he does all of the special reports in addition to GMA, and he’s calling sources and getting ready for his Sunday show. “He comes back to the office in the afternoon . . . And he’s incredibly engaged in the news coming out of DC right now.” As for any perceived struggles at the show? This executive looks to the only barometer of success and scoffs at any notion of trouble. “We’ve tripled our lead over the Today show [in total viewers]. The show has never been better.”
Jamie Otis, star of Married at First Sight and generally lovely human being, has been having some issues on social media lately. You’ll never believe this, but she’s actually been having to deal with mean, hateful strangers on the internet . She’s been dealing with one awful person in particular — a woman who decided to body shame her over the way her breasts looked in a Facebook Live video. In the video, Jamie was reviewing one of those subscription boxes, and she was also wearing a somewhat revealing shirt. How dare she, right? Here’s the most scandalous shot from the video, one where she was hunched over a bit: Upon seeing the video, some woman thought it was appropriate to leave a comment that read “I’m just trying to figure out what’s lopsided — her boobs, her bra or her shirt … Woman, have some respect for yourself.” OK, for one, mind your business. For two, it’s totally normal for women to have breasts that are two different sizes. And for three, Jamie is pregnant . Pregnancy boobs have minds of their own, and Jamie should not be criticized for that. Unfortunately, Jamie saw the comment. And it really, really bothered her. Enough that she wrote a blog post about it. In the post, she wrote that she’d been away for a long weekend during which she hadn’t checked her social media, so when she got back home, she was looking forward to seeing comments and messages from her friends and “frans.” “Frans” is what she calls fans that have become friends — Jamie Otis is too cute for this world. So she was excited to check out her Facebook, but then she saw that inappropriate, rude comment. And that happiness just went right out the window. “Instantly I felt my smile fade,” she wrote. “My mood went bleak. I immediately looked down to my chest to see if my boobs are really that noticeably ‘lopsided’ …?!” “Then I re-watched my video to see if my breasts looked completely abnormal? I wasn’t thinking of my breasts or even paying attention to them when I was chatting with all of my friends and frans live on Facebook.” She said that she’s a bit hormonal, being 18 weeks pregnant, and that she’s “a bit sensitive, too” because she’s been bullied before. “I used to be so insecure,” she explained, “that I would just keep quiet and not say anything. As a matter of fact, I would do ANYTHING to get the person who was bullying and shaming me to begin to like me.” Jamie ended up sending a private message to the woman who body shamed her, and she shared that in the post too — turns out her boobs actually are significantly different sizes because she had a lump removed from one when she was younger. She spilled her heart out to this woman, she kindly asked her to stop leaving such superficial, harmful messages, and you know what the woman did? She replied with “Modesty is an option. I don’t give a damn what size your breasts are. You’re broadcasting a video that you know lots of people are going to see. And all I can see is your boobs about to jiggle out of your shirt.” Some people are just awful . This woman is just awful. Jamie wrote that though this response left her speechless, “My goal in sharing this experience is that any woman who stumbles across this post will just think about their comments before they post them.” “Maybe we as women could go out of our way to build each other up instead of tear each other down.” What a woman, right?
