Jay-Z And Kanye’s Watch The Throne Countdown Begins!

With just a week to go until its long-awaited release, we look back on the year-long journey to the Throne. By Rob Markman Kanye West and Jay-Z Photo: Getty Images The wait is almost over. On August 8, Jay-Z and Kanye West (now collectively known as the Throne ) will drop their long-awaited, full-length album Watch the Throne on iTunes as a digital exclusive, with physical retailers to follow on August 12. It was August 2010 when Kanye first sent the rap world buzzing when he tweeted, “Me and jay bout to drop a 5 song album called ‘Watch the Throne.’ ” By October, that five-song EP had turned into a full-length LP. West confirmed with MTV News ‘ Sway that he and Hov were going all in. Check out exclusive photos of Jay-Z and Kanye West in the studio. “We putting out a whole album now,” ‘Ye said. “We had done five [songs] so far, but then a few of them kind of were out there, and I put them on my album. Sorry, Jay,” he chuckled. “But we got some more, and we’re going to the South of France at the end of the month to just record new ideas. But we’ll probably be done with the album in a day.” Things didn’t quite work out as planned, or perhaps Kanye overstated things, but the recording took way more than 24 hours. Nevertheless, while on a promo run to promote his book told Sway that he enjoyed working with Kanye and marveled at his growth as a beatmaker and lyricist. “This is another level of that recording,” Hov said. “Because Kanye, I’ve seen him — really, he’s like a brother to me — I’ve seen him from the beginning to where he is now. And to see him as a producer and to see how he’s growing as a producer and as an artist, for me, on another level, it’s enjoyable. I’m watching the guy that I pretty much mentored become his own guy, with his own opinion. It’s fantastic.” Fanatics wouldn’t get their first taste of Watch the Throne until January 2011 when the duo released “H.A.M.,” the Lex Luger-produced energy ball that found ‘Ye and Jay trading braggadocios verses. In the end, however, ‘H.A.M.” wasn’t the big hit that fans and pundits expected. Still, expectations for the album remained high. “There’s songs on there that’s making you go crazy,” Swizz Beatz told MTV News of the project without revealing too much. “That album is amazing, but I have to let those guys talk about that, because that’s their expression. All I can tell you is it passed the bar.” Read MTV News’ first impressions of the album after an exclusive listening session. Anticipation led to multiple rumors about the LP’s release date. First, it was reported that Throne would drop on July 4. Instead, during the Fourth of July weekend, the LP was made available for pre-order . Soon after, an official track list was revealed on Jay’s Life and Times blog. The track list confirmed that Beyonc

My name is Lee and this is My Bieber Experience. I saw Justin…

My name is Lee and this is My Bieber Experience. I saw Justin many times so I will quickly go over each! The first time I saw Justin was at his concert in LA on Febuary 14/09. I was all the way at the front and started to feel a bit dizzy. I ended up fainting and a bodyguard picked me up. It ended up being Kenny, which made things better! I then saw Justin at his VMA performance at the Nokia theatre. I  also went to his book signing on October 31st and met him. When I went to up to him, I couldn’t talk because I was that speechless. We took the picture, then he grabbed my arm and was like “Thank You, I love you” and than I walked down the ramp. Justin has also RT’ed/followed me on Twitter! On February 8th, I went to the Never say Never premiere at the Nokia theatre. That was the best experience EVER and I didn’t even meet him! WHY? Because I met Pattie, Justin’s grandparents, Usher, Willow & Jaden, Sean Kingston, and so many other celebs! On Febuary 9th Justin showed up at my movie theatre! It was pretty epic and also really cool cause I saw Justin 2 times in two days! Then on February 12th I went to watch ‘Never Say Never’ across the street from the Staples Center and Justin was at rehearsals for the Grammys. He showed up to that too! Then another day I was at Universal Studios for the day, and Justin just happened to be there shooting Next 2 You! I only saw his feet. Lastly, on July 11th I met Justin Bieber at the movie theater next to my house! I was at work and ran out of work to go meet him! It was amazing because we were talking for like 3 minutes! I also met his dad Jeremy. I’m really thankful for all these experiences, I hope every belieber meets him. All you gotta do it BELIEVE! NEVER SAY NEVER!!! -@ForeverBeliebrs More here: My name is Lee and this is My Bieber Experience. I saw Justin…

My name is Chloe and I’m from Melbourne, Australia and this is…

My name is Chloe and I’m from  Melbourne, Australia  and this is My Bieber Experience. I have supported Justin Bieber since my friend told me about him in April 2009. When I heard that he was touring Australia in April/May, I knew I had to get tickets and also try my best to meet him! I cried when I got the concert tickets! I was so happy! I couldn’t believe that  Justin Bieber was coming to my city.  On the 30th of April, my friend Lizzy and I went to Melbourne airport and  we met JB’s dancers, Legaci, DJ Tay James and more ! The next day a few of my friends and I did a dance class with two of JB’s dancers: Nick and Marvin. Both guys are so kind and are such amazing dancers. Over the next few days, we skipped school and stayed outside of JB’s hotel, in the rain and cold hoping that we would meet Justin. Over those few days, we met  everyone in Justin’s crew , including  Ryan, Alfredo, Dan,  and  Scooter!  We even met  Justin’s grandparents 9 times.  My friend and I each gave his grandparents an envelope with our addresses on the front and a piece of paper inside asking Justin to please sign the paper and send it back to us. We thought we might as well give it a shot. All of his crew members were so nice and we got to speak to Scooter for a while because there was only 2 other fans there with us. On May 2nd, I went to Justin’s concert, it was amazing and the crowd’s energy was insane! We knew that as soon as he finished singing Baby, he went straight to his hotel and got there just after 9:30pm. So the next night, the night of his second concert, we were at his hotel and waited until the concert finished. It was nearly 9:30pm and I kept thinking “What if I do MEET Justin?!’ I was so nervous! Just after 9:30pm, a small black car drove past us and there were 2 people in the front and 1 person in the back, on a laptop.  We didn’t  realize  that it was Justin in the car  because we thought that he was going to be in a black van, like everyone else in his crew had been. Luckily, a mother of one of the fans that was also waiting for Justin told us it was him, so we sprinted after the car to where it was parked but the parking space was protected by garage doors. As soon as we got there,  I saw Kenny Hamilton!  I yelled out to him “HI KENNY” and he turned around and smiled at me! And then…  JUSTIN BIEBER GOT OUT OF THE CAR!  I yelled out ”HEY JUSTIN!”,  he turned around and said “Hey!”  My friend and I then yelled out “I LOVE YOU JUSTIN” And then  Justin replied back and said “I LOVE YOU!”  Then he asked everyone if we enjoyed the show, which of course, everyone said “Yeah!” (there were about 5 other girls there as well) Then he walked into the hotel. My friend and I ran to the front of the hotel crying tears of happiness and told all the other girls what had just happened but they didn’t believe us! We went back to the car park where we saw Justin and I saw  Ryan  and  Alfredo  get into a black van.  I knew Justin was in the van as well . I waited with my friend and two other girls until the car drove out and then we chased the van until it drove out of the hotel car park, onto the street. A week later an envelope arrived in the mail and I  recognized  it straight away!  It was the envelope that I had given to Justin’s grandparents to give to Justin!  I opened it and saw that  JUSTIN HAD SIGNED THE PIECE OF PAPER!  I couldn’t believe that Justin had actually signed the note and sent it back to me! Meeting Justin Bieber was a dream come true and I will never forget this experience and I would like to say thank you to Justin for basically just being himself and for all the effort he puts into making his fans happy. Thank you for bringing the  My World Tour  to Australia and for putting smiles on all your Aussie fan’s faces.  NEVER SAY NEVER!   Love Chloe – @ChloeJaacko   Here is the original post: My name is Chloe and I’m from Melbourne, Australia and this is…

‘Breaking Dawn’ Sex Scene Was ‘Kind Of Fun’ For Bill Condon

‘They are so comfortable with each other,’ director says of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. By Tom Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment “Twilight” fans gearing up for the franchise’s last two films already have the cast and crew’s word that the much-discussed wedding and birth scenes will be everything they’ve imagined since reading Stephenie Meyer’s “Breaking Dawn.” But what about porting the book’s passionate sex scene from page to screen? When MTV News caught up with director Bill Condon at Comic-Con , he was happy to report that shooting in Brazil was a breeze. “It was kind of fun!” he told us. Apparently Stewart and Pattinson’s electric onscreen chemistry was enough to diffuse any and all off-screen awkwardness among cast and crew. “They are so comfortable with each other,” Condon said. “They made the whole thing … it was kind of fun. Those things are always a little strange. They get to be weirdly technical at certain points.” Stewart and Pattinson’s realistic closeness comes as no surprise, given that rumors about their real-life relationship have been circulating since the initial “Twilight” film hit theaters in 2008. “They managed to put all that aside and turn it into something. That’s a very real moment,” he noted. For his part, Pattinson told fans at Comic-Con that there were some not-so-romantic moments during the shoot in Brazil. “Brazil was amazing,” Pattinson said. “It was really amazing the day we got there, and really beautiful and warm and everything you’d expect. Then it suddenly, for the remainder of the shoot, was not only raining but like hurricane storms. … It was kind of like having a honeymoon in England. We were playing board games instead of, like, making love on the beach.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Breaking Dawn’ At Comic-Con: Top Five Moments

‘Ew, get that thing off me! Get me a real baby!’ Kristen Stewart remembers of the animatronic baby used as Bella and Edward’s daughter. By Kara Warner Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart at 2011 Comic-Con Photo: WireImage SAN DIEGO — After taking last year off from San Diego Comic-Con , the cast of the “Twilight Saga” returned to the famed pop-culture extravaganza in a very big way. There was new “Breaking Dawn” footage screened before a crowd of 6,000, food gifts presented to fans via the castmembers themselves and talk of the awkwardness involved in filming sex scenes. It was a lot to take in. Here is our list of the top five “Twilight”-themed moments witnessed during SDCC 2011: Castmembers Treat Fans to Breakfast “Twilight” fans are known for their extreme loyalty and passion for the film franchise and its stars. As such, every time the cast has made the trek to San Diego for an appearance, thousands of fans line up outside the Con’s famous Hall H — many of whom camp out for days ahead of time. This year, castmembers Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser, Booboo Stewart and Julia Jones surprised a bunch of lucky fans with an early-morning wake-up call that included a gift of muffins and fruit. Wedding Scene Was Filmed “Secret-Service Style” As much as they can, the “Breaking Dawn” cast and crew try to keep spoilers and set photos from being snapped and released on the Internet. But nothing has been as secretive and protected as Bella’s wedding dress. Kristen Stewart explained the great lengths that were taken during filming. “The wedding was secret-service style. It was insane. The crew was completely inconvenienced and grumbling around set,” she said at the “Breaking Dawn” press conference at San Diego Comic-Con. Stewart didn’t let their efforts go unnoticed. “You don’t understand what this means to us,” she told the security team. “If this dress gets on the Internet, I’ll die.” Bella and Edward’s Baby Terrified Its Onscreen Parents There has been much ado about the “Rosemary’s Baby”-esque birthing scene Stephenie Meyer wrote in “Breaking Dawn.” Specifically, the end of that scene when Bella brings a half-human, half-vampire baby into the world. According to the scene’s key participants, Stewart and Robert Pattinson, what should have been warm and fuzzy was actually horrifying. “We had an animatronic baby, the scene where [Bella] had to be introduced to the baby for the first time,” Pattinson explained during Thursday’s press conference. Stewart explained that although the scene is one of her favorites in the book, the fact that the baby bore more of a resemblance to Chuckie from “Child’s Play” than a real newborn made the scene a bit awkward. “[The puppeteer] is sweating right below my eyeline, trying to [reach] up to get the [animatronic baby’s] hand up to touch your face,” Stewart recalled. “And then it sticks to your hair and pulls a little bit and you’re like, ‘Ew, get that thing off me! Get me a real baby, this is ridiculous!’ ” she said. “And it had hair!” “If you’ve ever seen a baby with a wig on …,” Pattinson offered. “[It] looked like a little troll on a stick.” Seven-Minute Clip Teases “Honeymoon” Scene Of all the scenes fans are most looking forward to seeing in “Breaking Dawn,” the honeymoon scene is at the top of the list. And the lucky 6,000 fans who attended the film’s panel Thursday were treated to a steamy sneak peek, along with about seven minutes of new footage from the film. Pattinson told us the key to getting around the awkwardness involved in filming that scene was to go for it. “You just get lubed up and jump right into it!” RPattz joked. “You have to have some tantric breathing and stuff.” Pattinson Likens Himself to Processed Meat Speaking of brilliant Pattinson quotes, one of our favorites occurred when the heartthrob had to address appearing shirtless on camera. “The thing I was most nervous about was taking my shirt off,” Pattinson said of which scenes he was most anxious about. “I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up,” Pattinson self-deprecatingly added, referring to what fans will see of his torso in the film and preview footage. “I look like an inflatable frankfurter in some of those [scenes].” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” and “Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . My name is Nina and I’m from Malibu, California. On…

My name is Nina and I’m from Malibu, California. On Halloween last year Justin was having a meet and greet/book signing for his new book, my best friend Lucy and I decided to go. We are true Beliebers and proud of it. Lucy’s parents are so amazing! Her dad waited in line for 2 hours at Barnes and Noble to buy copies of the book which would get us wrist-bands to get us into the event. Then on October 31st, we woke up and got Lucy’s mom to drive us to the Grove where the event was happening and she waited in line with us for over 3 hours. We love her!! Lucy and I had been waiting for an opportunity like this for so long and as we were waiting in line we were too excited to even think! We just kept thinking that soon we would be right next to Justin Bieber and our dreams would come true. After about two hours we finally made it into Barnes and Noble and we could see Justin less than 50 feet away from us. It was crazy!! There were girls screaming, crying, and some just speechless. Finally, after a lot of waiting it was our turn to take our picture with Justin! We walked over to him, said hi while he did his famous hair flip, then he put his arms around both of us and smiled for our picture. It was honestly the best moment of my life and I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity. Then we each gave him a hug as we walked away to go collect our signed copies of the book. But quickly before leaving we had written our phone numbers on a piece of paper and I went up to Kenny and asked him to please give it to Justin and he replied, “Yes ma’am I will”. He was so sweet! As we were walking out of Barnes and Noble, Lucy and I almost started crying we were so happy. As soon as we got in the car we started calling all of our friends screaming “WE JUST MET JUSTIN BIEBER!!!” because we were so ecstatic we couldn’t believe what had just happened. We will never forget that day and the amazing experience we went through together. NEVER SAY NEVER Read this article: My name is Nina and I’m from Malibu, California. On…

Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson Talk ‘Adventures Of Tintin’

At Comic-Con, director Spielberg and producer Jackson tell MTV News about motion-capture technique. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg at Comic-Con 2011 Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images SAN DIEGO — “The Adventures of Tintin” took San Diego Comic-Con by storm during Friday’s Hall H panel, gifting fans with new footage of the upcoming motion-capture flick and surprise appearances by producer Peter Jackson and star Andy Serkis. The debuted footage was received very favorably, several news outlets reported. Jackson and director Steven Spielberg caught up with MTV News to chat about how motion capture has evolved over the years. Spielberg cited the motion capture in “The Polar Express” as what propelled the animation technique into popularity, which then culminated in its best form when James Cameron and Weta Digital applied it to “Avatar.” Was there any one scene in particular Spielberg found the most difficult to create? “I don’t think it’s any one scene that is tough to crack,” he said. “It’s the medium that has been evolving that took years of development and experimentation and trial and error.” The central focus of the story is obviously the movie’s namesake, Tintin, but there are plenty of other colorful characters fans should look forward to as well. Spielberg said he hopes Tintin is the biggest breakout character to come out of the flick, but Jackson said the rest of the ensemble will have a chance to shine as well. “[Comic creator] Herg

Taylor Lautner ‘Excited’ For ‘Breaking Dawn’ Honeymoon

At Comic-Con 2011, ‘Twilight’ star also discusses imprinting scene. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News SAN DIEGO — This year’s San Diego Comic-Con has been akin to celebrating Christmas in July for “Twilight” fans. Those lucky enough to catch the highly anticipated “Breaking Dawn” panel Thursday were treated to roughly seven minutes of footage, as well as the appearance of all of their favorite cast members. MTV News chatted with Taylor Lautner briefly about the Comic-Con experience, as well as how he approached the much-discussed imprinting scene . “It’s tough. I think the best way is to just go off the book,” Lautner said. “People ask me questions all the time about imprinting, and I just want to say, ‘Read the book: It explains it all.’ It’s very complicated,” he added. “I can’t wait for everyone to see it. I think they’ll be pleased.” Lautner also continued to heap praise on his young co-star Mackenzie Foy, who plays Edward and Bella’s daughter, Renesmee. “The great thing with Mackenzie is she is the nicest girl,” he said. “She’s so outgoing. Everybody on that set loved her. She’s really talented. I can’t wait for everyone to see her; she’s not until the second one, though,” he pointed out. In regard to which scene he’s most looking forward to seeing in the finished film, Lautner echoed the sentiments of plenty of fans before him. “I’m excited to see the honeymoon stuff — come on,” he said with a smile. “There’s a lot of good stuff.” He added, “I’m super proud of the movie. I think everybody’s really happy with it. It’s great to be back at Comic-Con because we weren’t here for ‘Eclipse,’ so it’s been a little while, so I can’t wait to see all the fans again.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Harry Potter’ Fans Consider Life Post-Potter

‘For those who have been so involved and grown up with the series, it feels like a chapter of your life has closed,’ one expert says. By Josh Wigler Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Photo: Warner Bros. Pictures “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” has been in theaters for a week, kicking magical tail at the box office and basking in the glow of rave reviews from critics. All good things, to be sure, except for one not-so-tiny wound: “Harry Potter” is officially over. “Wait … there’s no ‘Part 3’?” joked a wistful Micah Tannenbaum of MuggleNet , commenting to MTV News on the fact that the “Potter” series is finally ending. “It’s a bittersweet feeling. For those who have been so involved and grown up with the series, it feels like a chapter of your life has closed, but at the same time, you’re eager to see what’s next. J.K. Rowling always has something up her sleeve.” MTV’s very own “Potter” expert Terri Schwartz, who was one of our main commentators during the “Harry Potter” World Cup , is one such reader to have grown up alongside the Boy Who Lived, giving her a unique perspective on the cinematic ending of Jo Rowling’s magical franchise. “It is fair to say that I grew up with ‘Harry Potter,’ so now that the movie series is over, there is an overriding sense of finality to the era that wasn’t there when the last book came out,” she said. “I definitely feel like I will never experience another pop-culture phenomenon quite like this again in my lifetime.” Indeed, it’s a popular sentiment. For many fans, the end of “Potter” marks not just the end of a franchise, but the completion of a massive zeitgeist-defining tale the likes of which won’t be repeated anytime soon. There’s a sense of pride among “Potter” fans for having been around to witness such a narrative gift, but it doesn’t come without a bittersweet cost. “I think the fans are experiencing mixed emotions,” Tannenbaum said. “It’s a bit different than when ‘Deathly Hallows’ the book was released in 2007, because you still had several movies to look forward to. Now what?” Thankfully, there is a place to turn: Pottermore , Ms. Rowling’s online haven where muggles across the world can rediscover the majesty of “Potter” all over again. “It’s a good thing [she] decided to announce Pottermore just before the last film hit theaters,” Tannenbaum said. “I have a feeling it will cure any lingering post-Potter depression and provide fans the ultimate online experience. With all the books being re-released over time with new content, fans can experience the series all over again.” Pottermore is still several months away, of course, but fans aren’t without options: “Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ is still in theaters, of course, and judging by last weekend’s record-breaking box-office numbers, it’s a sure bet that many Potterheads will be heading back to Hogwarts this weekend. ” ‘Part 2’ is definitely the strongest of the ‘Potter’ films, so it is exciting to see that this last movie is holding steady to be the strongest of the bunch,” Schwartz said. “It just solidifies the fact that this is the most successful movie franchise in cinematic history, which is a title it well-deserves.” “The box-office results are impressive,” Tannenbaum added. “I think the fact that ‘Part 2′ shattered midnight, opening-day and opening-weekend records here in the U.S. as well as records overseas shows the series’ reach. It’s the fastest film ever to the half-billion mark, and it has only been in theaters for a week! Plus, it just passed ‘Star Wars’ as the highest-grossing franchise of all-time. Definitely going out with a bang.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Can Listening To Music Improve Your Health?

Visit link:

If you are an avid music lover like myself, you most likely woke up this morning with a song floating around in your mind. That song followed you through your daily routines, rolling around in your head like the apple in your lunch bag, causing you to hum along and maybe even dance a bit while accomplishing your goals for the day. While not everyone has the same song that they consider “pump up music” in their life, the idea that music can improve your mood and be a catalyst for people in their daily lives is important to acknowledge. According to an article on NPR about a new book called The Power of Music , the author Elena Mannes “sees so much potential in music’s power to change the brain and affect the way it works.” From that perspective, music can be anything from a life-changer for stroke victims to a daily remedy for the average person suffering a bad day. The sounds of singing and instruments, no matter the genre, have the effect of medicine on an ailing brain in times of need. The tunes can range from slow jams to fast-paced anthems or classical pieces, but it ends up being the general melody and placement of lyrics that triggers memories and feelings associated with emotional growth. The knowledge of sounds, whether they be the natural rhythms of the heart or the pounding beat of an r&b song, can be detected as early as in the womb. Music is ingrained in our lives even prior to our birth, which gives strong validation to the idea that listening to the sounds around us is good for our health! 5 Ways To Find Inspiration From Within While this book is mostly associated with the affects of music therapy on patients with serious ailments, people with every day problems in love, family, or work can relate to music bringing uplift and restorative properties into their lives. After a long day caring for the children or sitting in an office cubicle, listening to a popular song from the radio or turning on your iPod to your favorite song can be a therapeutic and often leave more positive feelings in its wake. From personal experience, music has been both the optimistic friend that cheers you up and the “Debbie Downer” that helps me revel in my negative emotions. Both of these uses can be have a purposeful outcome in that when you need that emotional release, sad music can be a good coping mechanism, but when positivity is in order, there is always a crutch for that arm. It depends on what you are looking for from the music that you are listening to, as different moods bring varying degrees of needs. The improvement of health from putting on your headphones and feeling free from the strains of every day life is one of the strongest unifying properties of the listening experience, as people from all walks of life can experience the strong emotional value of music. Music is powerful in that with its melodic and healing properties, health can improve based on immersing oneself in your favorite song on your iPod or waking up to a song floating around in your head. The musical experience surpasses cultural or generational boundaries, therefore, it already has strong effects on the way people live. The instruments, lyrics, and voices of the performers are all very ingrained in human connection, therefore, bringing music therapy to light as having a strong effect on health is a powerful step in the right direction. As health becomes a main concern in the aging process, music can have the power to uplift, add passion, and center your life.
