Just when you thought the bar could never be lowered for idiocy, Patricia Krentcil allegedly went and put her 5-year-old daughter in a tanning booth. The 44-year-old from New Jersey (there’s a shocker) told NBC’s local New York affiliate that she took her daughter with her to a local tanning salon. Krentcil, who puts Snooki to shame with her “tan” complexion, maintains that her kid was actually not exposed to any of the booth’s synthetic UV rays. Patricia Krentcil Tanning Arrest “I tan, she doesn’t tan,” Krentcil said , insisting that this whole story is merely a big misunderstanding. “I’m in the booth, she’s in the room. That’s all there is to it.” Krentcil, of Nutley, N.J., was arrested and charged with felony child endangerment last week. She was released on $25,000 bond and is due back in court today. “It’s nothing different than taking your daughter to go food shopping,” Krentcil said, incredulously. “There’s tons of moms that bring their children in.” Police, though, say Krentcil put her daughter in an upright tanning booth. New Jersey state law prohibits children under the age of 14 from tanning booths, while children between the ages of 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Police were alerted by school officials, who said that at school, the girl had what looked like a sunburn, but told friends she “went tanning with Mommy.” Rich Krentcil, the girl’s father, said it was in fact a sunburn. “This whole big thing happened, and everyone got involved,” he said. “It was 85 degrees outside, she got sunburned. That’s it. That’s all that happened.” Maybe so, but just look at that woman. Just look at her.
Kenny Burns tells MTV News that Diddy’s anger was directed at someone in his booth. By Rob Markman Diddy Photo: John Shearer/ WireImage Diddy said he’s sorry , T.I. said he meant no disrespect , and radio personality Kenny Burns said there is no beef. Things may have gotten a little heated in Atlanta club Compound this weekend when Diddy chastised a clubgoer for drinking Grey Goose vodka instead of the Puff-endorsed Ciroc, but it’s all good now, according to Burns, who can be seen arguing with Diddy in a video of the incident. “Puff and I got a long history of knowing each other and it’s really nothing we can’t talk out, because we done been through a lot,” Burns told MTV News. In the clip, Diddy — who was hosting a BET Hip Hop Awards afterparty on Saturday alongside T.I. — was on the microphone hyping up the crowd. At one point, the music stopped and the Bad Boy CEO barked at a patron for drinking his rival Grey Goose. “Bitch-ass n—a, put that sh– down,” he yelled into the mic before appearing to throw a piece of ice. After Diddy’s tirade, T.I., who was just released from prison and is currently on probation, grabbed the mic to reason with his collaborator and friend to let the people drink what they want. V-103 radio host Kenny Burns is also seen on the tape, and to some, it appeared that Diddy’s anger was directed at him. Not the case, said Burns, who has an endorsement deal with Grey Goose. “The only truth to that is that I’m an ambassador for Grey Goose and that he is an ambassador for Ciroc,” he said. “At the end of the day, no, he was not talking to me. He was actually going at somebody in my booth. He made a mention in a song, ‘Everybody put your bottles up,’ and my table happened to be in front of his, and we were all drinking Grey Goose.” Burns insists that he was trying to play peacemaker, helping protect Puff’s image and his friend as well. “I thought I’d jump in it and put my man back where he was supposed to be so he wasn’t in harm’s way and then climb up on the ledge and holla at Puff,” he said. “At the end of the day, he’s an icon of our generation. He don’t need that look.” During a Wild 105.7 interview in Atlanta, T.I. clarified that he wasn’t disrespecting Diddy but simply trying to “defuse the situation.” Diddy has since taken to Twitter to apologize for his actions, and Kenny Burns said it has all been resolved. “Immediately after the club, myself and him went behind the cars and talked like men,” he said. “We talked it out.” Related Artists Diddy
We get it, we get it…nobody writes their lyrics down anymore it all just magically comes off the top of the dome. So you should expect a rapper’s bars to have a few errors here and there, right? In some cases, but in others, it is a low down dirty shame how rappers sometimes slander simple facts in their rhymes. The sadder fact is that the monstrous mistakes make it all the way from the booth to a CD. Read More At HipHopWired.com
‘Scotty is a genuinely nice kid, a good Southern boy,’ one classmate tells MTV News. By Gil Kaufman, with reporting by Tami Katzoff Scotty McCreery performs during his hometown visit in Garner, North Carolina Photo: Steve Exum/Getty Images There are so many unusual things about “American Idol” finalist Scotty McCreery: his signature microphone technique, his preternatural ease onstage and, oh yeah, the fact that’s he’s both a kick-ass baseball pitcher for his high school team, the Garner Trojans, and one of the key members of Garner Magnet High School’s vocal ensemble, Die Meistersingers. Alec Hulmes, 17, has known McCreery since preschool, and they’ve lived in the same neighborhood and played baseball together their whole lives. On the eve of Scotty’s top-three performance, he told MTV News that ever since they were in elementary school, he remembers McCreery singing Elvis tunes on the bus while doing that “little eye thing.” And while they were amused, Hulmes said they often complain, “Dude, Scotty, shut up for one second! Just shut up! Stop singing!” But since McCreery’s epic run on “Idol,” things have changed. “Now every time he sings, it’s like, ‘Go ahead, Scotty, keep going, keep going!’ ” Hulmes laughed. The school’s “blue crew” started out as a student cheering section for football and basketball games, but over the past few months, it has transformed into an all-Scotty cheering section. The town of 27,000 just outside Raleigh, North Carolina, has also gotten fully behind their favorite son, with billboards, signs, banners and viewing parties. Garner Magnet High School student Jay Booth, 17, who has known Scotty since freshman year, said that these days, you can’t walk 15 feet in town or at their school without seeing some McCreery-boosting paraphernalia. There’s a packed-to-the-rafters viewing party in the school gym every Thursday night and announcements throughout the week reminding students to vote for Scotty. Check out Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina ‘s hometown visits! “I think Scotty is a genuinely nice kid, a good Southern boy,” Booth said. “He always cares about everyone else and is respectful to others.” Before he was picked for the show, Scotty had talked to his pals about maybe doing “Idol” one day. “We didn’t think anything of it, because it seemed like such a farfetched idea,” Booth admitted. Once McCreery did try out and made the show, his teammates saw the huge reaction and realized that it could turn into a very big deal. Yes, there’s the fame and the TV love and the potential recording contract. But preschool friend Kyle Tobin, 18, said there’s another fringe benefit that would warm the heart of any 17-year-old boy. “He used to joke about not being able to pull women,” Tobin said. “But [ when he came home last weekend ], all you could hear was women’s voices.” He might seem like a quiet, unassuming Southern boy on the show, but Booth said during football and basketball games, Scotty was always the loudest fan, yelling his support for the home team and ripping off his shirt even in cold weather. “He’s normally a pretty quiet kid if you don’t know him very well,” Booth said. “So whenever you see him at a football game screaming at the other team, it’s pretty funny.” Considering that he’s already heard some original compositions that were “far beyond” Scotty’s 17 years, Booth predicted that if his buddy wins (actually, when he wins), McCreery will make a true roots country record that would stick to the style he’s fostered on “Idol.” Don’t miss “Idol Party Live” every Thursday at noon on MTV.com for analysis, celebrity guests and even some karaoke — get in the conversation by tweeting with the hashtag #idolparty! ‘To be honest, we weren’t ready,’ Diddy tells MTV News of December 14 LP. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Ricky Louis Diddy-Dirty Money Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images The train is almost here! After a series of delays, Diddy-Dirty Money are finally set to release their album Last Train to Paris on December 14. The Bad Boy Records CEO apologized for the number of setbacks, but said the project is finally ready. The album’s various release dates go as far back as September 2009, but the mogul says there was a reason for the changes. “The wait is over,” Diddy told MTV News. “We pushed our album back a bunch of times because we felt, to be honest, we weren’t ready. I think a lot of times artists make that mistake. They get locked into a date and they’re like, ‘Well, I told everybody my date was this.’ “And it’s not fair to change your date four times like we did,” he continued. “We’re sorry. But at the same time, we had to get to know each other better. We had more work to do to jell. We had to do different things on the album to make it more balanced and really finish the story the right way, not the selfish way. We feel comfortable now that we’re telling the story in the way it’s supposed to be told.” Currently, Diddy and company are enjoying success with two tracks, the Drake-assisted “Loving You No More” and “Coming Home,” which the group performed over the weekend on “Saturday Night Live.” Formerly of Danity Kane, Dirty Money singer Dawn Richard talked about the long-delayed project that includes a range of stars from Justin Timberlake and Lil Wayne to Chris Brown.

By Rahman Dukes, with reporting by James “FLX” Smith Drumma Boy and Young Buck Photo: MTV News Main Pick Street King : Young Buck Holding It Down For : Memphis Mixtape : Back on My Buck Sh–, Vol. 2 Real Spit : Young Buck doesn’t concern himself with media reports detailing his troubles with the tax man or contractual disputes with G-Unit pitbull 50 Cent. Instead, the Tennessee native deals with his issues in the booth. And on the Drumma Boy-helmed Back on My Buck Sh–, Vol. 2, street-album fans will get some of Buck’s most heartfelt rhymes yet. “I just been going in the booth and giving it to you,” the ex-G-Unit MC told Mixtape Daily when we met up at the Drumma Boy compound. “Life is real like that, ya’ll know that. … But I’m good, my music speaks for itself … I’m speaking through the music.” Buck said his latest sessions with Drumma happened naturally. “Honestly, he’ll tell you man, I just walked in the booth and gave it to the world exactly how it is, and that’s how I really been doing a lot of my music lately.” The producer said fans can expect Buck stray from his usual fare on B.O.M.B. S. 2. (Drumma Boy was actually doing double duty during the Mixtape Daily interview, tending to another Memphis heavyweight, 8Ball, who was going through tracks.) “The sound of the project is basically a whole mix, it’s like a gumbo,” Drumma explained. “You gon’ hear a little bit of rock influence, you gon’ hear a little bit of soul influence, a little bit of Marvin Gaye influence, with the “AM/FM” — shout-out to Lupe, coming through, you know, blazing us.” He continued, “I can’t say too much. You gotta listen to it and really capture the moment.” Joint to Check For :
