DaBaby is really coming up in the world, as he should be. Just a few months after dropping his debut studio album Baby on Baby , the rapper from the Tar Heel State released his sophomore effort Kirk this past Friday (Sep. 27). With his latest album on track to hit number 1 on the Billboard charts with 130K to 150K equivalent album units being moved (those new Soundscan rules are still hella weird), DaBaby took to the stage of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and with The Roots providing the beats and Stunna 4 Vegas hitting him with an assist, DaBaby proceeded to rock the crowd in New York City. Pumping out verses from some of his standout cuts from Kirk including “Intro,” “Really,” and “Bop,” the iced out rapper gave The Tonight Show crowd a performance they’d soon not forget. Source: ALASTAIR PIKE / Getty Twitter Rolls Out Anti-Abuse Feature for Direct Messages Twitter has just announced that it is releasing a spam and abuse filter for direct messages , which, for some, is a much-needed feature for the sometimes-toxic social media platform. This new filter will be available on Twitter’s iOS, Android, and Web apps, according to reports from TechCrunch . The company also announced that it had started testing the feature about a month and a half ago. This anti-abuse filter works by adding a new view to the “additional messages” inbox, where DMs from people you don’t follow are sent. If you go and click it, messages that possibly include graphic content also have hidden previews, with the new choice to delete the message without having to read it first. If you’re wondering who would be the target audience for this addition, the new DM feature is beneficial for people who like to keep their direct messages open but don’t want to receive the offensive messages that may come with that. This feature from Twitter definitely feels overdue since abusive content is so common that third-party developers have already created their own filtering tools for similar situations. This is just the latest attempt for the platform to make Twitter a safer, less crazy place. In the beginning of September, Twitter rolled out its “hide replies” feature in the U.S. and Canada. This allows users to have the option of picking which replies to hide without completely deleting them. Are you feeling all of these new Twitter features? We tested, and turns out filters help you cut through the noise to find gems. Who knew. So we’re rolling out this filter to everyone on iOS, Android, and web! — Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) September 30, 2019
Source: VH1 / VH1 K. Michelle Under Fire We all thought that this week would be all about the cat fight between Apryl and Moniece . However, that feud ended without much fireworks as the two, ahem, singers seemed to bury the hatchet so they could tour together in a not-at-all convoluted storyline. No, the story coming out of Monday’s episode was K. Michelle . K. Michelle did an interview on the show and went all the way in on Moniece and Apryl’s singing voices and their struggling careers. The problem is that Moniece has been K. Michelle’s best friend and supporter on the show since day one. For K. Michelle to throw her under the bus is quite the stab in the back and Twitter has definitely noticed… If people don't realize K. Michelle is nobody's friend and is toxic & miserable af, I don't know when they'll get it. She's a trash ass friend, period. Elle Varner, Jonathan, and now Moniece. There's a common denominator and pattern, her BS. #LHHHollywood #LHHH — LastKnightnParis (@lastknightnpari) October 1, 2019 Peep the backlash…
Source: Pool / Getty Disgraced Singer Has Been Locked Up For More Than Two Months On Child Sex Abuse Charges He’s been locked up for more than two months, and R. Kelly has complained that his life is nothing short of hell. The “Pied Piper” revealed that he’s suffering from a host of health ailments, can’t see his two young gal pals at the same time and doesn’t have enough phone time while he remains behind bars and without bail on federal sex abuse charges. In a letter to the judge, the lawyer for the “Step In The Name Of Love” singer said his health has rapidly deteriorated since he was jailed on July 16 . Steve Greenberg said his client is now dealing with acute anxiety, numbness in his hand and untreated hernia – and isn’t getting proper medical care. Source: Chicago Tribune / Getty And to add insult to injury, Greenberg said Kelly can only visit with one of the girlfriends at once, and had to wait an entire 90 days in order to see the other. Greenberg wrote the letter to try to persuade the judge to release the disgraced singer on bail. The lawyer pointed out that Kelly is broke – so he doesn’t have the means to pay off witnesses or to skip town. He said that the feds had confiscated his passport, so there’s no way that he could leave the country, and he reiterated that Kelly didn’t have a criminal record and didn’t run away during his first child sex trial more than 10 years ago. The judge has yet to rule on the motion.
