Earlier today, married Bones star David Boreanaz admitted having an affair with an unnamed woman who he claims was trying to extort him for money. Now, his wife Jamie Bergman may sue the woman he had affair with. As a Utah resident, she has grounds to file a lawsuit for “alienation of affection.” Really. Jamie believes the chick – who TMZ reports is NOT Rachel Uchitel , who Boreanaz also slept with – intended to breakup her marriage, it’s so on. The David Boreanaz affair came to light after his former mistress contacted an attorney and threatened to go to various media outlets with her story. Naturally, that attorney was Gloria Allred. Boreanaz says he refused to cough up the money she wanted so he, took the David Letterman route, outed himself and now accuses Allred of extortion. Does Jaime Bergman have a case against David Boreanaz’s mistress? Allred who also reps Uchitel and helped the most notorious of the many Tiger Woods mistresses negotiate a mammoth settlement, denies any wrongdoing on her part and puts the blame for his actions squarely on Boreanaz. Gloria claims David’s lawyer, Marty Singer, tried contacting the mistress and only then did she get involved – and says she may have other “legal claims.” Singer responded that Allred’s claim is only that Boreanaz had promised the mistress that she was “exclusive” … even though she knew he was married. The woman had a very short-term liaison with Boreanaz – 2-3 times – after which he paid her money but she allegedly kept demanding more and more. Singer says on April 23, the woman left a threatening message that she had not gotten enough coin and was going public. On Monday, he says he got a call from Allred, who said woman was looking to get paid at least six figures. She then threatened to go public unless David upped the ante, Singer says, so Boreanaz told the story publicly Monday. But Allred is ready to fight back : “My client has not told her story, but now that Mr. Boreanaz is attacking her she has decided to tell the story of the relationship. The truth will come out.” The plot thickens! Stay tuned …

By Jocelyn Vena David Boreanaz Photo: MTV News After reports began to surface that “Bones” star David Boreanaz had been unfaithful to his wife of nine years, Jaime Bergman, the actor has opened up about his infidelities. Boreanaz told People that he hopes to save his marriage. “Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities,” the actor says. “I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible.” He said that he is speaking out now because the unnamed woman with whom he had an affair allegedly contacted an attorney and threatened to go to the media with the story. “I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion,” he said. Regarding his relationship with his wife, Boreanaz said, “We’re working on our marriage. We’re working on repairing what has been damaged so badly.” TMZ reports that the actor decided to confess after the woman, whom he saw for only a short time, started demanding more and more money from the star. The mistress hired legal ace Gloria Allred, who demanded more money for her silence. Instead, Boreanaz decided to go public with the affair. Despite reports, Allred says the woman is not Rachel Uchitel, who had also been linked to tiger Woods. Boreanaz, who got his start playing the brooding vampire Angel in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and its spin-off, “Angel,” married Bergman in November 2001. The couple has an 8-year-old son, Jaden, and an 8-month-old daughter, Bardot. This is Boreanaz’s second marriage.

Before there was Tiger Woods, there was David Boreanaz. Indeed, while Rachel Uchitel has made a name – and a lot of money – for herself by sleeping with the golfing great, she actually rose to infamy in October 2009 when THG reported Uchitel boned this Fox star . Since then, Boreanaz has remained mum on the topic… until now. In a statement to People magazine this week, the Bones star writes about cheating on wife Jaime Bergman. Because he feels guilty and must repent? No. Because he wants to get out in front of an alleged blackmail scheme. He says: “Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities. I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion. “I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible. We’re working on our marriage. We’re working on repairing what has been damaged so badly.” We don’t know for a fact that Boreanaz is referring to Uchitel. But he’s had more than one affair if there’s yet another woman in his past. Consider this a Bones spoilers alert, readers: that show’s star is a dog!
