GOP Candidate Harley Brown Defends Mocking People Of Other Races An Idaho GOP candidate definitely stirred the pot with his comments during his most recent debate. Republican candidate Harley Brown is apparently known for his publicly outspoken demeanor and sometimes offensive statements , but this one in particular is causing quite an uproar. via USA Today By most accounts, the Idaho race to watch is the one between Gov. Butch Otter and state Sen. Russ Fulcher for the Republican nomination. But what happens when you let perennial candidates Harley Brown — a Harley-driving biker — and Walt Bayes — with a white, Santa-like beard — take part in a televised debate with Otter and Fulcher? You get a discussion of the economy, the Affordable Care Act and federal lands alongside a heavy dose of conspiracy theories, biblical interpretations and one man’s fight against political correctness. Brown’s campaign website contains a warning label and Harleyisms, and he explained very colorfully why his platform seeks freedom from political correctness. “You might find it offensive, but I hit everybody — Jews, Irish people, black jokes and religious jokes,” Brown said at the debate. “I don’t like political correctness. It sucks. It’s bondage. I’m going for the vote the real people.” Do you find Harley’s logic and reasoning racist ?
The 2014 update of Godzilla opens theaters Friday May 16th. Actor Richard T. Jones Talks To BOSSIP About “Godzilla” Movie BOSSIP had the pleasure of talking to actor Richard T. Jones about his role in the film. Check out our exclusive interview below: BOSSIP: Tell us about your role in the film. Richard T. Jones: I play Captain Russell Hampton, I’m the commander of the Navy vessel that we’re using to track the Mutos to see where they’re going, to figure out what they’re doing, why they’re here, what’s their plan. We’re trying to figure out how to defeat them and prevent further casualties. Is it safe to assume the black guy doesn’t die first this time? I don’t die at all actually. It’s one of those movies where Godzilla is the lead. It’s a Godzilla movie and we’re all riding his back but they hold it down, but Aaron [Taylor-Johnson] and Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe really hold down most of the meat. I just get the good fortune of working with them. As far as sci-fi you previously did “Super 8,” how did the two films compare? Very different, definitely one is more typical sci-fi with the aliens in that sense and JJ Abrams is a monster, so I love him. And with Gareth [Edwards], Gareth is amazing too. They’re similar in bigness and similar in styles, very relaxed and cool and collaborative. Real low egos. You’d expect more ego in these guys, but they have none. Other than that, very big movies, grand in scale, so they’re similar in that sense, but I think they’re very different movies. And very different characters. I was a bad guy in “Super 8″ and I like to think I’m a good guy in this. For people who are fans of the cult classic “Godzilla,” how do you think this will measure up? I think they’ll be ecstatic about this. This is so true to the original but it brings a new element to it I think they’ll be thrilled. The way Gareth introduces Godzilla, the way he shows his heroic side. I think it’s amazing. I think they’re going to flip. What are the challenges as an actor when you’re working with a lot of special effects? After working in “Super 8″ it made it a lot easier to do that. I always tell people it’s kinda like going back to when you were a kid and playing in your room and you can imagine anything. I have kids now and I see them do it all the time, so when I do these types of movies that’s what it reminds me of. You almost have to just try to play, you almost have to do it over the top the first few times and get out of your head. You gotta kinda make fun of yourself and that makes it easier. Have your kids seen the movie? My kids saw it with me yesterday and they loved it. What did you take away from the film? Every time I do a project it’s always about the encounters with the people. I spent a lot of time with Ken [Watanabe] and David [Strathairn] and Sally [Hawkins]. Just sweet individuals. I always take away the experience of working with the different actors and crew members. It’s always good to see the same faces when you do something totally different. When I did “Super 8″ we had the same army instructor, so when I went out to Vancouver he was out there. It’s good to reunite with people. So what do you think? Are you going to see “Godzilla?”
19-year-old Chicago rapper Lil Bibby is probably the most buzzed about young rapper in the game right now. Thanks largely to the success of his song “Water” off his ‘Free Crack’ mixtape he’s currently on the receiving end of tons of media attention, something he’s struggling to get used to. BOSSIP caught up with him at his Atlanta mixtape release party at Treesound Studios and he opened up about how his newfound success has changed him and how, like the refrain of his popular song, he’s striving to keep his head above water. “I’m kind of forced to talk a lot now with the rapper stuff,” Bibby tells BOSSIP at his Atlanta mixtape release party. “So I’m kind of getting out of that.” As for any pressure he might feel over being dubbed the next to blow, for now he says it’s only made him more focused. “I can’t put out no more regular records, just playing around,” Bibby admits.”I gotta get in the studio and pick up, since the pressure is there to work on them classic-type records.” Whether he’s talking or rapping, the accolades over his voice, which has a particularly deep timbre for such a young man, keep pouring in. There’s also been a lot of discussion about what he looks like. When he’s introduced onstage by Treesound owner/manager Groove Chambers, he’s ribbed about his light skin, light eyes and curly hair — a combination that likely has record execs drooling over his potential to sell to girls in much the same way that certain other rappers have before him. Asked about steering clear of the “lightskinned ni**a” stereotypes, Bibby laughs, “What is the stereotype?” We tell him he’s got the potential to be billed as a sex symbol, that he may be expected to craft music that women will like. “No, I’ma talk about selling drugs,” Bibby laughs. “That’s what I’ma talk about. The girls – man, they like it. I don’t know if they like the music or me. I don’t know what it is, but they like it.” He’s in good company too. While he may be steering clear of light skin stereotypes he has already forged a good relationship with Toronto’s very own sex symbol, Drake and speaks of an upcoming collaboration that could be just what he needs. “Me and Drake may be working in the future,” he confirms. “I talk to him a lot, but you know he be busy. He just got off tour, so hopefully it’ll be soon.” While Lil Bibby has previously worked with fellow Chi-town rappers Chief Keef and Lil Reese, when we ask him how he’ll avoid running into some of the same legal issues that have plagued some of his counterparts he tells us he doesn’t smoke or drink and quickly dismisses any concerns. “I don’t move like that anyway. I try to keep everything legal,” Lil Bibby tells BOSSIP. “I try to dodge those problems so you probably won’t see me on the news doing anything.” At times he seems years older than the baby faced teenager he is, a quality he attributes to his work ethic. “A lot of people say I’m more mature, but I don’t know. I’m kind of a boring person,” Bibby says. “I don’t like to have fun like that. That’s probably why people call me mature, because I just like to work. I’m just working on a single. That’s what I think I need. I need a big single, a breakout single.” It’s definitely coming. Will you be listening???
Bossip Visits Celebrity Sew Ins And Chats With Tasha Marbury Early on in this season of Basketball Wives, viewers got a glimpse into the world of new comer Tasha Marbury and her journey in preparation for the opening of her latest venture “Celebrity Sew Ins,” a weave bar located in the Brownsville area of Brooklyn, NY. The January 2013 soft-opening of the weave bar was all but deemed a failure on the BBW episode itself, so BOSSIP decided to pay a visit to Celebrity Sew Ins to see what’s really going on with the salon and how they’re holding up almost 8 months after the episode was filmed during a recent “Champagne & Sew Ins” meet & greet event with Tasha herself. Upon entering the shop, which officially opened 2 months ago, it was evident that what was shown on the episode did it little justice. The space was tastefully draped in pink and white decor with a hanging chandelier above the welcome area and an all-white bar-like seating area with salon chairs and stylists at various stations ready to get busy. Customers were invited to walk the “pink carpet” before being escorted to the first station of the weave bar where they found a logo-bearing pamphlet featuring detailed information about available services, pricing and photos of celebrity-inspired style choices. Alongside the pamphlets were a variety of extensions to choose from provided by Glam Luxe hair company. After selecting hair, customers were then seated at the first station along the weave bar to get braided before heading over to the the second station for installation and styling. The basic time length for each service was 30 minutes, which you know is pretty impressive if you’re familiar with how long it normally takes to have a weave done. After satisfied customers finished getting styled, they were escorted to pose in front of the CSI pink carpet backdrop. Quite the one of a kind experience, we must admit. Of course you know we couldn’t leave without getting the 411 from Tasha about what really happened with “soft opening” shown on the show, whether or not she and Tami will actually be doing business together, what she thinks of her cast members at present, and more. Hit the flip to peep our chat with Tasha and more pics from her meet & greet, along with a pic of the first celebrity CSI customer, who you’ll probably recognize. Continue reading →
Everyone’s favorite cousin Candice “Dice” Dixon had a moment to sit down with BOSSIP and chat about juggling life in the spotlight with education, her sexual orientation, dressing “like a woman,” and to dish on the infamous “Honey Nut Cheerios” comment made about her cousin LaLa Anthony earlier this year. BOSSIP: First, let’s talk Full Court Life. People always describe you all as “the positive Black show” on Vh1. Do you see that as a double-edged sword, since people tend to be more entertained by the hot messes? Absolutely. It is great that people see us as a “breath of fresh air” so to speak after watching several of the other shows. A lot of people come up to me and tell me “I watch this show with my kids. I can watch this show with my mother.” So it’s great that our show can reach all age groups since we are so family oriented and not focused on drama. But on the flip side, that [drama] is what people do want to see. They want to see the Love & Hip-Hops and the Basketball Wives and all the fighting. But luckily, we’ve been blessed enough for people to embrace our show and we can continue to be ourselves. What’s more, LaLa told Vh1 from jump that her show was not going to follow the “ratchet reality” trend the network is known so well for. When they approached my cousin she told them, “I’ll never have a show like that, because that’s not my life.” I’m a part of her life, Po is, and you see our dynamic, so her show will never be what the other shows are. And it’s great, because the network is able to give you diversity… My cousin [has creative control], because she’s executive producer. But pretty much, what you see is what you get with our show. We really show who we are. What about you? Do you think LaLa’s show is a much needed break from the all the table-shaking and drink-tossing that takes place on other Vh1 shows? Peep the rest of the interview after the flip.

Fawk a gossiping azz rapper thug for real! Over the weekend The-Game , aka Jayceon Taylor unleashed a tirade of histrionics toward his former nanny Karen Monroe – she’s since sought legal representation from Manu J. Elloie. who says he’s already reached out to The Game and his legal representation to resolve their issues.
