Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Rapper Pled Guilty To Menacing Emily B & Her Father Earlier This Year Fabolous has been quietly working to satisfy the terms of his plea deal in connection with allegedly pummeling and threatening reality starlet partner Emily B. The “Throw It In The Bag” rapper has been working to satisfy the terms of his year-long pre-trial intervention program after he pleaded guilty to one count of harassment and copped to threatening Emily and her father with a pair of scissors outside of their northern New Jersey home. Things are going so well, that the judge on the case has not asked Fab, 41, to come back to court to review his progress, and he doesn’t have a court date pending, a court official confirmed to BOSSIP. If he successfully completes the diversion program, his charges will be thrown out and his criminal record wiped clean. Fab initially faced up to 20 years in state prison after prosecutors accused him of punching Emily B so hard that her front teeth had to be removed. Days later, a video emerged of the father of two brandishing a sharp object at his partner and her father and threatening to kill them. We’ve reached out to Fab’s lawyer, Brian Neary, for comment.

Source: Prince Williams / Getty Michael Shareef Williams Accused Of Shooting Angela Simmons’ Ex-Fiancee The Atlanta-area man charged with gunning down Angela Simmons’ former fiancee Sutton Tennyson has filed court papers to throw out evidence against him and seal the details of a violent arrest involving children, BOSSIP has learned. Michael Shareef Williams filed motions asking a judge to toss evidence of a cache of weapons cops found during a raid on his house. He also asked a judge suppress details about at least one previous arrest for battery and cruelty to children in the third degree, his court papers state. Williams said law enforcement violated his Constitutional rights when they detained him without linking him to a crime, “conducted a suggestively administered photo identification,” and searched his house with a warrant that lacked probable cause, according to documents obtained by BOSSIP. A judge will rule on Williams’ motion in a hearing next month. Prosecutors believe Williams shot Tennyson more than a dozen times in the driveway of his own home late last year after a dispute “escalated.” In February, a Grand Jury indicted Williams on eight felony charges, including murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Williams, who court papers state was unemployed, has been held without bail at the Fulton County Jail for the last six months while his case is pending. We reached out to the Fulton County DA as well as Williams’ lawyer for comment.

Blige has scored a victory in a case accusing her of not paying the mortgage on her $2 million mortgage on her New Jersey mansion, BOSSIP has learned. Apex Bank has abruptly abandoned a foreclosure suit against the “No More Drama” singer after accusing her of not paying the house’s bills in months. Last year, we exclusively revealed that the bank sued Blige and her now ex-husband, Kendu Isaacs, alleging that they defaulted on a $2 million mortgage. Blige bought that home back in 2001, and the 6,100 square foot home has six bedrooms, a master suite on its own private floor and sits on an acre lot. On May 17, the court clerk threw the case out because Apex Bank refused to move forward with litigating it, court records obtained by BOSSIP show. The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning that the bank can refile the suit against Blige in the future. It’s the second time in less than a year that Blige has been let off the hook in a foreclosure case against her, according to court records. Last year, the bank sued her and Isaacs for not paying the mortgage on her $12 million estate a few towns over, but dropped that case as well. Although Blige can put those cases behind her, she is still having to deal with legal woes stemming from her alleged housing choices. We exclusively revealed that a judge has allowed a Beverly Hills landlord’s case against her and Isaacs to continue in order to recover nearly $60,000 in back rent and fees.

Kodak Black Says Cops & Media Violated His Constitutional Rights By Publishing Photo Of Rapper In Shackles (Exclusive)

Source: Thaddaeus McAdams / Getty Kodak Black Facing Federal Weapons Charges Following Miami Arrest Last Week Kodak Black has blasted the media and the feds for allegedly releasing a picture of him after last week’s gun bust in order to gloat about nabbing a big name. That’s according to new legal docs from the troubled rapper, who is coming out swinging against his recent gun arrest at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami. Using his new legal name, Bill K. Kapri, the “Tunnel Vision” rapper filed court docs claiming that the media and law enforcement violated his constitutional rights when they disseminated a photo of him in shackles and street clothes at the Miami-Dade police station. Kodak said there was no reason for the cops and media to snap and distribute the pic – other than to create a “news spectacle” and for law enforcement to brag about catching such a big fish. The photo was released “for the purpose of creating a news spectacle in showcasing a Grammy-nominated artist shackled and in custody for all to see,” Kodak’s motion, which was obtained by BOSSIP, states. “Quite simply, there was no law enforcement or security rationale, and this was nothing more than a personal frolic for law enforcement to posture.” Source: Atlantic Records The feds raided Kodak’s tour bus May 11 while he was en route to perform at the festival. The photo in question is of a handcuffed Kodak waiting to be transported to federal detention, his court docs state. Kodak wants the police and the media to be barred from distributing any photos of him without a legit law enforcement or security purpose. The news comes as the prosecutor in his South Carolina rape case asked a judge to revoke his $100,000 bond because of his repeated arrests. A high school girl accused Kodak of sexually assaulting her following a concert in Columbia in 2016. A judge has yet to rule on either motion.

Gone are the fur coats, gowns and jewelry that typified the gospel and soul singer’s larger than life persona in recent years for the new film “Amazing Grace.” Instead, the then afro-sporting 29-year-old is stripped back and lets her voice do most of the talking. “This Aretha Franklin is a little bit different,” “Amazing Grace” producer Tirrell Whitley told BOSSIP. “She was just coming out of the 60s Black Power Movement, she’s wearing her afro….The experience of Aretha Franklin at the age of 29 at the peak of her power.” Franklin recorded the live performance in 1972 over two nights in a South Central L.A. church in front of an audience that included her father the Rev. C.L. Franklin, gospel greats Clara Ward and Mother Ward, the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts. Source: Courtesy of NEON / Courtesy of NEON Her resulting album, “Amazing Grace,” went double platinum, won a Grammy, and went on to be the Frankin’s best selling album of her career, Whitley said. Because the footage was shot out of sync, it sat in a vault for almost 40 years before a film company was able to sync the footage with the audio. Although the movie does have imperfections like out of focus shots, Whitley said that it was Franklin who pulls everything together. “The great thing is that the film had excellence in the making and her voice carries it through,” he said, adding that Franklin gave the film her blessing before she passed away last year aged 76. Whitley said the film is ideal for sororities, churches and other groups to screen. “This film takes you to church and it ministers to you in a unique way,” he said. “Amazing Grace” is now in theaters nationwide.

Teen Producer Sues French Montana For Stealing Beat For “Ain’t Worried About Nothin’” (Exclusive)

Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty Producer Said French Montana Coopted His Beat For Rapper’s Hit Song An Illinois producer claims that French Montana straight up stole his beat and used it for the song “Ain’t Worried About Nothin’” when he was still a teenager. Eddie Lee Richardson aka “Hotwire The Producer,” sued French Montana for copyright infringement and more earlier this month, alleging the rapper used his work without permission or payment. Richardson said back in 2012 when he was just 16, he made a song called “Hood Pushin’ Weight,” and registered the song with the U.S. Copyright Office. He said he uploaded the song to site SoundClick, a music sharing website and distribution platform. The plaintiff said French then took the song from the site, and the following year, released “Ain’t Worried About Nothin.’” He said the songs were identical, save for the lyrics and vocals. The producer believes French banked more than $5 million from the song, and he wants money damages that equal the amount of profit grossed from the single. It’s not the first time that French Montana has been in hot water over accusations that he stole music. We exclusively revealed that another producer sued him for the very same thing. In 2017 Morocco-born producer Assil Youssef sued him for using his beat for “Lockjaw” (featuring Kodak Black) without his permission. That case was later dismissed.

Source: ENT / Splash News Chrissy Metz Talks To BOSSIP About Joyce Smith Role Last month we were moved to tears while watching an early screening of ‘Breakthrough’ — a new film in theaters today, which was produced by DeVon Franklin and Stephen Curry and stars “This Is Us” actress Chrissy Metz. Metz plays Joyce Smith, a Missouri woman whose adopted son and two of his friends fell through ice while playing. Two of the boys were quickly rescued, but Joyce’s son John remained under water for some 15 minutes before being rescued. Paramedics couldn’t find a pulse for Smith for a full hour before his mother was called to the hospital to say her final goodbyes. What happens next is truly miraculous — and this is a film based on a TRUE STORY! The film also stars Josh Lucas as Joyce’s husband Brian, Topher Grace as the family’s pastor Jason Noble, Mike Colbert as the paramedic who ultimately rescued John from the lake and Dennis Haysbert and Sam Trammell who played roles as the two doctors who were vital to Smith’s survival.
