Jerry Sandusky pleaded not guilty inside of a Pennsylvania courtroom today, waiving his right to a preliminary hearing in the process and avoiding any testimony from those who have accused him of child abuse. For now at least. The disgraced ex-defensive coordinator at Penn State subsequently appeared on the courtroom steps alongside his lawyer, Joseph Amendola, who told the press: “There will be no plea negotiations. This is a fight to the death.” Amendola added that his client also waived his appearance at the January 11 arraignment and asked for a jury trial. A handful of alleged victims were present at the court house this morning and prepared to make their claims public , a step they will now take instead some time in 2012. Said Howard Janet, an attorney for one of the boys who has said he showered with Sandusky : “It would have been apparent from watching those boys and their demeanor that they were telling the truth.” Amendola, of course, says otherwise, telling reporters: “We’re pursuing a financial motivation. Finances and money are great motivators.” Late last week, Sandusky’s wife spoke out in support of her husband. She said the former coach only tried to ” help and care ” for the children that came through Second Mile, a charity he founded in the late 1970s, from which many believe he culled his young prey.
Stacy Keibler is wearing a tight black dress and showing off her legs George Clooney wants us to believe he wears as a scarf, because there is a strong chance he is more into scarfs for fashion purposes, you know to accent his outfit while singing show tunes with his boys in his Italian Villa….you know all gay like that….cuz only gay guys wear scarfs for fashion…I mean unless it is cold outside then it is every man for his own….you versus the elements and sexuality doesn’t come into play…and the real issue is why I’m not focusing on Keibler wrestling legs….maybe I’m the kind of guy who needs a scarf for fashion if you know what I mean…
Farrelly brothers bring the Stooges into present day but leave their classic comedy style intact. By Kara Warner Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos and Sean Hayes in “The Three Stooges” Photo: 20th Century Fox The Farrelly brothers have finally unleashed the first trailer for their “Three Stooges” movie, and if you’re a fan of Larry, Moe and Curly’s classic slapstick, consider it an early Christmas gift. The nearly two-minute spot opens at the Sisters of Mercy Orphanage, where a burlap sack containing the baby Stooges is dropped at the doorstep, complete with the first eye-poke gag. The rest of the trailer features a smorgasbord of classic “Three Stooges” quotes, gags and slapstick, with a couple of modern twists thrown in. There’s the familiar “spread out!” shout when the boys prep for a fight, Curly’s panting and dog barks when he spots a beautiful woman (one of whom is played by “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara) and their “Mind your P’s and Q’s” gag. There are lobsters stuck to faces and dropped in pants, plus countless objects thrown at our main characters. In one scene, the guys are introduced to the iPhone, which Curly puts up to his eye to try and blink-talk with someone. The final shot of the trailer features some very familiar faces: JWoww and Snooki from our very own “Jersey Shore.” “Hiya, Snook, I gotcha a present,” Larry says, holding out a cardboard box to an unsuspecting Snooki. “Go on, open it.” Snooki opens the top and a hand jumps out and pokes her in the eye. “Owww!” she yells, and the trailer fades to black. After years of false starts and attempts to reboot the classic eye-poking, head-bonking comedy franchise with stars such as Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro and Jim Carrey , the movie now is being headlined by the trio of Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamontopoulos. Although the film is not yet rated, when MTV News caught up with the Farrellys earlier this year, they promised to keep things PG. “The Stooges, by the way, are just naturally and organically PG,” Peter Farrelly said. “That’s what it is. We wouldn’t want it to be what it isn’t. It’s like ‘Napoleon Dynamite,’ as funny as that was, that was a PG movie, not PG-13. It’s just natural, and this is what the Stooges is. “They are Moe, Larry, Curly as you remember them,” he added when asked if the co-directors had plans to modernize the characters at all. “It’s not a biopic. It’s the episodes just as you saw but we rewrote, we have all new episodes. We have three episodes. Technically, each episode picks up where the last one left off. Each one begins with its own theme, so it’s about an hour and 25 minutes. Three episodes, fun, old-fashioned, but it takes place present-day, and they look, dress and sound like the Three Stooges.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Three Stooges.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
Here is my favorite latina super MILF Sofia Vergara strutting her stuff at the premiere of that annoying movie, New Year’s Eve , that all the girls are going to force their boyfriends to go see and then want to recreate some cheesy scene on december 31st instead of just letting them go out and get hammered with their boys. These kinds of movies make having a girlfriend a pain in the ass. Anyhow, Sofia would never do that to me, she’s perfect. Although I don’t think I’d like to see her angry, those latinas are fiery.
Swift performs Speak Now track ‘Ours,’ as the Band Perry and ‘Voice’ coach Blake Shelton are also honored Wednesday night. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Swift accepts award for Entertainer of the Year at the 2011 CMA Awards Photo: Rick Diamond/ Getty Images Taylor Swift nabbed her second Entertainer of the Year award at the 2011 CMA Awards on Wednesday night in Nashville, Tennessee. She beat out all the boys, including fellow country music superstars Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban. The singer also took the stage in a pink sweater to perform her Speak Now track “Ours,” a simple ballad about love. Swift kept the performance simple, sitting on a big, comfy couch, strumming her guitar. She recently teased on Twitter that she shot a music video for one of the songs off her chart-topping album, with the performance leading to speculation that she was referring to “Ours.” Swift’s win and performance wasn’t the only headline of the night. Nashville’s latest crossover darlings the Band Perry — who recently appeared on Justin Bieber’s holiday album, Under the Mistletoe — were also big CMA winners , nabbing a number of awards including New Artist of the Year as well as Song of the Year and Single of the Year for ” If I Die Young .” “The Voice” coach Blake Shelton won the male vocalist award, while his wife, Miranda Lambert, won for best female vocalist. Sugarland nabbed the prize for vocal duo, and Lady Antebellum took Vocal Group of the Year. He likes to help them dunk and they [the kids] think they’re doing it on their own.” The devoted mother of two spoke about balancing motherhood and the music business. Noting that her children always come first she shared, “I do what they need, so I can do what I can. Black Hollywood represented on the red carpet at the 24th annual Thurgood Marshall College Fund Anniversary Dinner, held at the Sheraton Hotel in New York City. Blair Underwood, Cuba Gooding Jr., Lamman Rucker (“Meet The Browns”), Russell Simmons, and Rockmond Dunbar were among the celebrity attendees lending their star power to the annual event. Cuba Gooding Jr., who stars as Lt. Emmanuelle Stance in the upcoming George Lucas produced Red Tails shared his experiences visiting prisons throughout the country. “We need to understand we have worth as black people, especially our black men.” Gooding also pointed out that a lack of black history in the American education system deprives young black children of positive role models, like The Tuskegee Airmen. When asked about taking on the iconic role of Stanley Kowalski (made famous by Marlon Brando) in next year’s Broadway revival of “A Streetcar Named Desire”, Blair Underwood replied ” The key is not to copy Brando, but in reading the script and finding your own truth.” Rockmond Dunbar, who just wrapped up Season 4 of the F/X hit drama “Sons of Anarchy” shared his excitement about playing shady Sheriff Eli Roosevelt. “It’s a great character, very 3 dimensional–great nemesis for the boys.” The Thurgood Marshall College Fund, founded by Dr. N. Joyce Payne, raises funds for students wishing to attend one of the 38 historically black public colleges and universities.
Teen star’s Under the Mistletoe tracks ‘All I Want for Christmas’ and ‘Little Drummer Boy’ drop in advance of album’s release. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber in his “Mistletoe” video Photo: Island/Def Jam Hey Beliebers, you can celebrate the holidays early this year! Just days before he officially releases Under the Mistletoe , Justin Bieber is gifting fans with the early release of two high-profile duets off the November 1 album. First off, his highly anticipated Mariah Carey collabo, an updated mix of her Christmas classic “All I Want for Christmas,” made its way online. The song, posted on Rap-Up.com , opens with Bieber and Carey exchanging vocal runs. Mariah’s verse, which sounds very much like the original, goes first. Then Bieber, singing in a deeper register than usual, joins in for the second verse. The sound of Carey’s original track is pretty much all there, with Bieber adding some new shine on the always-glittering holiday standard. “Mariah Carey is doing it with me! It’s incredible. So excited,” he told MTV News recently. “We wanted Mariah from the beginning, but we kind of thought it was really hard, so we didn’t really push the idea. But she’s on my label, so we reached out to some people, she got in contact with us, and Randy Jackson was actually at the studio with us, and I was like, ‘Yo, you think you can help get Mariah on the Christmas album?’ And he was like, ‘I’m actually going to see her in New York on Monday,’ and I was like ‘Yo, go do that!’ ” On Bieber’s collaboration with Busta Rhymes on the classic “Little Drummer Boy,” which was posted on Hitfix.com , the boys threw some club beats and synths over the old-school Christmas track. The song gets a bit of an edge when Bieber, a skilled drummer himself, appears as his rapper alter ego Shawty Mane . He raps lines like “Yeah, I’m on the drum/ I’m on the snare drum/ Yeah, I’m on the beat/ ‘Cause the beat goes dum/ I only spare heat ’cause I’m playing for the son/ Playing for king/ Playing for the title/ I’m surprised you didn’t hear it in the Bible,” while also singing the traditional lyrics from the song in between verses. Busta comes in halfway through the song, spitting family-friendly lines in his signature rapid-fire style. “Bieber hit me back and said let’s make it hot up in the winter,” he raps. “I said, cool/ You know I’m gonna deliver/ Let’s collaborate and make the holiday a little bigger.” “If you really think about it, it’s genius, because it’s rapping on a Christmas album … and, like, I’m rapping on it. And then it’s singing,” he explained. “It’s cool. [Busta’s] got, like, a percussive voice to him [and] the beat was so crazy. I’m actually playing drums on that song, playing the snare.” The album will also include appearances by Usher , Boyz II Men and the Band Perry, as well as a number of songs featuring Bieber all on his own, including the album’s lead single, “Mistletoe.” Related Videos MTV First: Justin Bieber Related Artists Justin Bieber Busta Rhymes Mariah Carey
New stars name Ariel’s red boots, Ren’s VW Beetle and Willard’s dance montage as their favorite call-outs to 1984 original. By Kara Warner Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough in “Footloose” Photo: Paramount Pictures For the “Footloose” purists out there who are worried about how the Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough-starring remake pays homage to the Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer-led original, fear not: There are more than enough nods to the 1984 dance classic in director Craig Brewer’s 2011 version. When MTV News caught up with the cast and Brewer, who have also assured us that their film stands on its own , we asked them to reveal their favorite scenes that were directly inspired by the original film. “My red boots,” Hough said, speaking to the fancy footwear that both she and Singer’s versions of the character Ariel wear. “The Bug,” Wormald said of his and Bacon’s characters owning a beat-up Volkswagen Beetle. “And the ‘angry dance.’ Yeah, and everything. All the nods I think were appropriate.” “I love the flick of the drivers’ license from the police,” Hough added about the moment when Ren is harassed by local law enforcement that was lifted from the first film and repurposed in the second. “And Willard [Miles Teller] doing the kick-step right through the lockers,” Wormald said of the boys’ “Let’s Hear It for the Boy”-backed dance montage. “That was shot-for-shot, so that’s incredible.” Brewer explained why those moments were “must-haves” for him. “We had to have the ‘angry dance.’ We had to have the ‘teaching Willard how to dance’ montage,” he said. “And I’m very proud to say it’s set to Deniece Williams’ original ‘Let’s Hear It for the Boy.’ There’s this moment where, like, all these guys are sitting around trying to teach him the gangster walk bounce, and it’s set to Deniece Williams’ ‘Let’s Hear It for the Boy.’ Where else are you going to see that but in my version of ‘Footloose’?” He said with a smile. “Then, of course, the VW Bug. If you see ‘Hustle & Flow,’ you’ll see I have a love for junky cars. I think they’re the most beautiful American statement of ‘I don’t have a lot, but we’re going to do a lot with it,’ and the VW Bug, I think, was one of the first of those badass junky cars.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Footloose.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Solange on Beyonce as a mother : [Beyonce took Solange’s son Daniel, 7, on a week-long trip to Paris alone.] “It was so cute. He was so happy. She took him to Disneyland and to toy stores and carnival rides. She did the whole entire experience with him; she’s so incredibly patient. She’s going to be a phenomenal mother, there’s no question about it. She has always—since I was a baby—been such a nurturer and caretaker and so protective of me. Beyonce on her new “eye” for fashion and her style inspirations: I’ve had so much fun with fashion over the months. I have been pregnant through every event I’ve done, from the Billboard Awards to Glastonbury. All I see now are clothes that are flattering on a pregnant woman. It’s been so exciting for me! I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant. Flowy fabrics are always flattering, but I still rock my stilettos. I love Kate Moss. I think she has great style. And I always admire Victoria Beckham and Gisele [Bündchen]. Their style is modern but always classic. I spend too much money shopping on the Internet! Beyonce on marriage: We focused three years on our marriage and found that it brought us an even stronger bond and connection. But like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice. It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want. The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your fears and insecurities. There’s someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you.
