Britney Spears has brought countless gifts in the world. While most of those are in the form of her music, she also gave birth to her sons , Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline. And while their mother is one of the most famous and talented people on the planet, at the moment, it’s their father who’s making waves. According to this report, Kevin Federline is attempting to get more child support money out of Britney. Britney Spears is an absolute legend who walks among us. While we can all take a moment each day to be thankful that, of all of the years of human history, we were lucky enough to live in the same time period as Britney Spears, the vast majority were not actually married to her. But Kevin Federline was, from 2004 until 2007. Though their union was clearly not meant to last, they’ll forever be linked by their precious sons — Sean Preston and Jayden James. And, of course, by the accompanying child support payments. As one can imagine, it’s Britney who pays Kevin and not the other way around. Apparently, she currently sends baby daddy Kevin $20,000 per month for child-support. For normal people, that’s a huge amount of money. Even if Sean Preston and Jayden spent every single day with their father, and they do not, it’s unlikely that the two of them would be costing $666 dollars every single day. (Of course, for celebrities, there are concerns like security and often private schools and transportation, so we can see how the added expenses add up … even to nearly a quarter of a million dollars per year) However, that payout was determined a decade ago, when the couple split. At the time, Britney was dealing with personal mental health issues and wasn’t really performing full-time. Compare that and how her finances must have looked to now, when she just finished her Vegas residency and is about to go on tour. And now a report from The Blast claims that Kevin Federline is requesting more money in the form of child support. Apparently, an attorney acting on Kevin’s behalf filed papers to that effect. Though there’s no actual mention of how much money he’s looking for, he wants, well, more. In part, people may assume that this is a money-grab. At the same time, child support is determined in part, not just by how much time the children spend with each parent, but also based upon a percentage of the parent’s income. Considering that Britney reportedly made something in the neighborhood of $15 million per year during her Vegas residency (and nearly twice what she pays Kevin Federline annually at each individual show), some would say that Kevin Federline is due for an upgrade. Apparently, he’s not looking for a nasty public battle or even a drawn out one. And it’s possible that, if his requests are reasonable, he’ll get what he’s asking for. Britney Spears famously adores her sons. Years ago, she knew that she didn’t want to repeat the mistakes that her own parents made, and resolved to be the best possible mother to her boys. (She took match classes herself so that she could help her sons with their homework — most parents would have just hired a tutor for the boys) Britney is a woman with one of the most powerful social media platforms on the planet. Do you know what she uses it for? Often, to praise her sons. Recently, she’s been showcasing their Dragon Ball Z art and praising their technique. (They’re genuinely skilled young artists who are really getting the hang of things like perspective) It wouldn’t be surprising if Kevin Federline gets what he’s asking for, largely because it could mean that her sons can live in more opulence when they’re spending time with their father. Anna Duggar … well, it’s safe to say that her life has been a little complicated for the past few years. Ever since it was revealed that her husband, Josh Duggar, had molested five young girls when he was a teenager, things haven’t been easy for her. Which, you know, makes sense. Back in 2015, the news about Josh came out , and it was an absolute mess, to say the least. Michelle and Jim Bob tried to make the situation seem not as bad as it was, which absolutely didn’t work, and 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. A few months after that we learned that Josh had also had an Ashley Madison account , and that he’d been cheating on Anna, or at least trying to cheat on her. In a statement about that part, Josh also admitted to being addicted to porn, so that’s another fun little tidbit. After that, Anna essentially went into hiding. She didn’t appear much on Counting On or any of the family’s social media accounts, not to mention her own. She got a whole lot of backlash for staying with Josh after the Ashley Madison thing, and for potentially endangering her children. Not leaving him was a way of supporting him, even after everything had come out, and many people didn’t like that. And that’s basically why she hasn’t made a post on her Instagram account in two years. Until this weekend, that is. Up until yesterday, her last post was in February of 2016, but then she posted this cute photo of two of her kids playing: “Usually my boys are playing with blocks, hot wheels, and nerf guns,” she captioned the picture. “Sometimes they decide to get creative ‘toys’ — stack ’em and then snack ’em! #creativity” So that’s pretty harmless, right? Not so much. Some people took issue with the fact that the boys are on the counter — one person wrote “I love you and all, but why would you let your kids play on top of a counter top like that?” Others were upset that Anna didn’t post any pictures of her daughters, and one of her followers even asked if the girls were “allowed” to play like the boys. But, of course, the main issue wasn’t with this particular picture, but with Josh. “I don’t see your little girls in the picture,” someone told her. “I hope someone besides your cheating, molesting husband is watching them.” “Please keep a careful, watchful eye on your kids both boys and girls,” another instructed. One particularly passionate person commented with “Have you finally realized that there is no hope for cheaters and especially molesters???” “Incestuous molestation at that..glad you have your children..but please move on and don’t bring anymore into the world with your sick hopefully soon to be Ex husband. HE TRIED TO RUIN YOU.” Then, on a bonus photo Anna posted, one of adorable little Mason , she got more criticism. “You continue to have babies with that cheating incest molesting husband of yours,” someone began over in that comment section. “Smh …. what did he say 3 hali Mary’s and u turned around and forgave him all willy nilly……” “Set an example to your daughters for peets sake to be a strong woman…your families females being subservient to the man makes you ladies look weak which is something the movement is fight against…” Whatever movement this person is talking about surely isn’t of interest to the Duggar clan, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a point. It is kind of bizarre how Anna is still pretending everything is fine after what Josh has done — or at least it would be in a normal marriage. The Dillards have gone and done it again! And by “it,” of course we mean make offensive, horrific statements like it’s totally normal and not at all a problem. It’s like they’re making a career out of being awful, which is convenient, considering that Derick caused the family their sweet, sweet reality show gig with his bizarre habit of making bigoted remarks about a teenage girl . In addition to Derick’s continued harassment of Jazz Jennings, he’s been making hateful comments about the transgender community in general. He’s also still begging Duggar fans for money , and then there’s more general weirdness, like the way he tried to announce that he hadn’t been fired from Counting On a month after the news broke that he had in fact been fired. It’s all bad. Very bad. And with this new update he and Jill shared on their blog … well, they’re not making things better. The blog was a little update on their family, just in time for Christmas. They opened things up with “We have had the privilege over the last few months to have many interactions with international students and their families!” If you’re familiar with these people, you can probably tell where this is going already. They wrote that they helped their church organize a “Thanksgiving dinner in an American home” event where different families welcomed a student from the University of Arkansas into their homes — the students were from “mostly Muslim families.” “One of the Ph.D students from an Arab country brought her husband and child,” they recounted. “Her husband seems very open to the gospel and even said if they were going to be in the area he would’ve loved to visit our church!’ “We are praying for him as Derick and others continue to befriend him that God will save his soul.” But Derick isn’t the only one working on converting the Muslim masses — “Jill and the boys have been able to be part of a weekly Arab ladies English class, with Muslim ladies from several different countries.” “Every week the ladies meet at a friend’s home where they learn to make an American dish, eat together, then read a Bible story and discuss the English language.” Sounds super. Their adventures aren’t over yet though — they also wrote that while shopping on Black Friday, they “saw a couple ladies wearing burkas, so Jill stopped to ask them where they were from and invited them to the Bible study.” “They came that week, and one of the ladies brought some traditional tea and treats to share. When asked if they had ever read a story from the Bible, both ladies said they had not.” “We are praying that they will return to more Bible studies.” As always, Jill promoted the blog post on her Instagram, and judging by the comments, the post was not well received. “Wonderful,” one person commented. “I’m sure you’ve welcomed your new Muslim friends to share the Quran with you.” “That comment about the Muslim families seems like more of a ‘look we are accepting people please donate ‘ comment than a comment about loving everyone and accepting people from different faiths,” another speculated. “People don’t need to be saved,” a commenter explained, “they need their beliefs to be respected. Approaching people while they are living their daily lives to try to convert them is deeply wrong.” “Respect is a two way thing, Jill, and asking someone who is wearing a burka about the Bible is not respect and showing understanding, it’s moral imperialism.” Someone called it “disgusting” that they “can’t just do a nice thing for people,” they “have to use it as an opportunity to convert them,” and another person told them “No one needs to be ‘saved’ but you two.” And those are all very, very valid points. Prince William is typically known for one of two things: 1. His dashing good looks. 2. His beautiful and pretty much perfect wife. The Royal hunk isn’t normally applauded for his sense of humor, although that may need to change in the wake to his latest response to Prince Harry’s engagement. Yes, in case you somehow missed it, Prince Harry is now engaged to Meghan Markle . The couple made the news official this week via a statement, a joint photo shoot and an adorable joint interview. When the announcement was initially made, William and Kate Middleton issued a formal response through Kensington Palace that read as follows: “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.” Short. Simple. Undoubtedly truthful. For also…. boooooring! On the first day of his visit to Finland on Wednesday, however, William was asked by reporters about this exciting piece of family news… … and he responded in a far funnier manner. “We’re very excited, delighted for them both. We’re wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time,” he said, adding: “Personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge and will stop scrounging my food, which he’s done for the last few years!” HA! There you go. There’s a sign of humanity from the often-buttoned-up Royal family member. During a special briefing at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, officials revealed that the Harry and Markle will get married May of next year at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. No exact date has been announced yet. But Middleton is due to give birth to her and William’s third child in April, meaning Great Britain may very well explode in happiness next spring. We’ll need to keep a close eye on our dear allies. Markle, meanwhile, has given up her acting career and will be living in London full-time. We’re sure Middleton has talked to her and will continue to talk to her about the overwhelming changes she’s about to encounter over the following days, weeks, months and years. Thankfully, Markle has the ideal role model to assist her along the way, as no one could have handled these sorts of changes as well as Middleton has since she married William. Markle, however, already seems up to the task. Riverdale is one of the most visually stunning shows around and Riverdale Season 2 Episode 7 amped that up to another level by changing up the way the story was told. It resulted in one of the most engaging episodes of this sophomore sensation yet and set the wheels in motion for a killer midseason finale. Watch Riverdale Season 2 Episode 7 Online The Black Hood killer said that he had cleansed the town and if there were no more sinners, he would stop his reign of terror. Let’s run down what happened for all of the characters Jughead Pays Back a Debt Remember when Penny Peabody said that Jughead would have to return the favor to her for helping his father? Well, she gave him a call to do a job for her, and it involved transporting drugs from Riverdale to Greendale. The villainous lawyer revealed that the Ghoulies roughed up FP in prison because of the person who made the phone call. If you watch Riverdale online, you will know that Archie was the one who called the cops. Jughead brought Archie in on the plan because he was instrumental in his father getting attacked. Archie borrowed Fred’s truck, and the two boys picked up the “pancake mix” and kicked off their mission. The scary thing was that the crate with all the drugs was huge and it was evident what they were doing from the get-go. All seemed to be going well … until the tire on the truck gave way. With no spare, they wondered who they could call for assistance, and they both agreed that bringing Betty and Veronica into it would be a bad idea. Here’s the thing that sucks with Archie: He did not worry about getting V to retrieve a gun from the school for him. The kid is filled with bad decisions to the point that it’s difficult to look at him as the main character. He’s like the dull side character who wants to be front and center. Before they could call Kevin, a creepy old man appeared in a truck that may or may not have had a dead body in the back. He said he had room for one of them and took Jughead’s final $18. Archie was left to wait for AAA to come and fix the tire while Jughead got into the truck with the creepy man, and it was evident he had made a mistake. The man told Jug about someone called the Reaper who got rid of all the villains in the past. Jughead could not help but take a look under the tarp and found a dead animal. The man then forced Jug to go to the diner with him, and then the deluded old being tried to take off with the crate, saying that the town deserved all the bad stuff coming to it. Archie appeared in the nick of time, and the boys completed their journey to Greendale. But the drug dealers made it clear it would be the first of many deliveries from Jug. Penny threatened Jughead with footage of him and Archie, saying that it was time she got revenge on his father for not keeping a promise to her from back in the day. This is going to be interesting! Josie vs. The Secret Admirer We picked up with Josie in the school in the dead of night. She was practicing without her band members. This was because Cheryl took her under her wing and said that she knew someone who could help her, but she would need to be a solo act. Josie did not want the others to find out, so she kept it quiet. Her mother was mad that she was staying out later and revealed she wanted her home earlier because the killer was threatening both of them. Josie had a secret admirer at the school, and the person kept putting things in her locker. It all came to a head when a Pig’s heart was delivered to her along with a drawing of the singer with the message “If I can’t have you, nobody can.” Cheryl and Josie immediately blamed Reggie, and he was sent to Weatherbee’s office, but Keller later told Mayor McCoy that there was no evidence to suggest it was him. We then got to witness Cheryl drawing a picture the same way as the drawing of Josie. Are we to assume Cheryl is orchestrating this to make friends with the pussycat? If so, she needs help. Betty and Veronica Track a Suspect Betty was ready to track the killer, but she could not shake the feeling that Sheriff Keller was part of the whole thing. Kevin had opened up about Keller going out in the dead of night and not returning until the wee hours. Veronica tried to get Kevin back to being great again and did some digging when she had a sleepover with him. Keller was working out in the middle of the night, and they had an awkward chat. Keller let Betty see all of his files on the killer, but she crossed the line by hitting up his office and breaking into the evidence. Keller realized Betty wanted to find out the truth and something tells me he knows the department is struggling. Later, Betty and Veronica followed the cop and found him having sex with Mayor McCoy in a seedy motel. So, he’s not the killer; he’s just boning the Mayor! Sinners Continue Sinning The big finish found the killer calling the diner to let everyone know that the town is still sinning and that he will continue killing everyone. So, there’s no end in sight. We can all agree the Insecure , HBO’s hit comedy series from the brilliant Issa Rae, is absolutely everything! It’s relevant, relatable and offers a hilarious and heartbreaking look at modern love and relationships. With its second season recently ending and work already being done on the third, Insecure is already a pop culture phenomenon. However, while the character of Issa Dee is hilariously awkward in her quest to navigate the tricky waters of love, friendships and career, let’s not forget those classic TV characters who paved the way. Long before there was Insecure , there were the classic black TV characters from the plethora of black TV shows from the 80s, 90s and early 00s. Classic sitcoms like Living Single , Girlfriends and A Different World are just a few of the shows featuring female characters that strived to have it all…even if circumstances or themselves kept getting in the way. Let’s take a look at some of the most iconic TV characters who made it possible for Insecure ’s Issa Dee to be so beloved! Khadijah James – Living Single : Before there was Sex and the City , before there was Friends , there was this iconic 90s sitcom about four friends living in a NYC brownstone (well Max didn’t technically live there) and trying to make their dreams come true. Of the four ladies (including Regine, Sinclair and Maxine) Khadijah James, played by the always amazing Queen Latifah, was the ultimate girl boss of all. She was fiercely independent, often refusing help as she ran her own magazine Flavor , was loyal to her friends, but wouldn’t hesitate to dish out tough love, she often acted as the voice of reason and had just as many problems in her love life as her three best friends. Khadijah James was the perfect example that even those who appear to have it all together, still fall down occasionally as they navigate this thing called life, often with a combination of laughter and tears. Joan Clayton – Girlfriends : If you were really paying attention during the very first episode of Insecure , then you noticed the cute homage that was paid to the classic series Girlfriends , which Issa Rae has said was a big inspiration for the show. Like Living Single , Girlfriends was also about four friends, but with a more modern millennium take, as the show premiered in 2000. Of all the girlfriends, none were more career-orientated, awkward, neurotic, frustrating, lovable and funny than Joan Clayton, played beautifully by Tracee Ellis Ross. Joan wanted nothing more than to have the fairytale relationship, perfect career and be the ideal friend to everyone—too bad she continued to get in her own way at every turn, ensuring her outcome would be the opposite of what she intended. No matter how many times Joan came up short she always dusted herself off and went full speed ahead into her next adventure…exactly how Issa operates on Insecure . Whitley Gilbert, Freddie Brooks, Kimberly Reese – A Different World : This trio of ladies from the still relevant and forever iconic TV show A Different World , represented practically all of the emotional, professional and financial ups and downs you face as you become an adult. Whitley, Freddie and Kim were all very different personality-wise, but their awkward, hilarious and at times touching struggles, as college students who eventually graduate and truly begin to face life’s obstacles, were quite similar. Whitley realized that she had to grow up in order to find her Prince Charming, her dream job and have long-lasting friendships. Kim had to learn to make room for her fierce dedication, education, love life and friends to all coexist in the same space. Freddie had to understand that being different and following your own path doesn’t mean that you have to alienate yourself from others and that true friends will accept all your eccentricities. These all are rites of passage that most of us have dealt with at some point, which is why these classic characters will always have relevancy. Pamela James – Martin : Sure, Gina was the female lead on the legendary FOX sitcom Martin , but she was in a relationship for the entire series, meaning viewers never got to see her as a single girl. This is why her best friend Pam was the one to look to, as she had the most romantic rollercoaster ride of any of the cast members. She was constantly teased about not having a man, but Pam rarely let Martin and his boys get her down for long. Pam was sexy, stylish, sassy and she refused to settle for anything less, which was such a strong testament to 90s female TV characters. Viewers may not have gotten to see Pam get married, although we did get to see her boo’d up with Tommy for a bit, but she didn’t need to be because she was the single representation of two girlfriends while Gina was the committed half—that’s what you call the perfect balance. Teri Joseph – Soul Food (TV series): Where to begin with Soul Food ’s Teri Joseph. She was the classic overachieving, Type-A personality that was the first one to call when you were in trouble, but had the worst track record with love. Twice divorced, but finding unexpected love with a man who was younger and initially worked as a courier, attorney Teri faced multiple obstacles in her relationship—watching closely as her married, younger sisters faced their own troubles. Teri didn’t need anyone and because she was so used to being everyone’s savior it was hard for her to open up and let someone else take care of her. This is a situation that many modern career women face, and although Issa’s Insecure character hasn’t directly faced this issue, her best friend Molly likely has or will soon. Melanie Barnett – The Game : When it comes to modern TV romances, few characters had as many messy situations, false starts and stops and non-stop drama as The Game ’s Melanie “Med School” Barnett. The show’s long-running romantic saga of Melanie and her professional NFL boyfriend Derwin was the most dramatic and addictive part of the series. Melanie made so many mistakes that we all fall victim to in our 20s, but as hilarious and painful as it was to watch, it proved to be so relatable because of its imperfections. From moving cross-country to follow her boyfriend and ultimately finding him cheating with someone else to having a “hoe phase” like Issa and finally marrying her soulmate, Melanie navigated through it all through tears, laughter, her girlfriends and finally learning to stand on her own two feet. Olivia Pope – Scandal : It may not be a comedy like the other shows, but ABC’s Scandal has enough relationship drama to last a lifetime. Let’s just get it out of the way, Olivia Pope is a boss in every sense of the word (she practically runs Washington,) but her personal life is often in shambles. It once again proves that love is that often tricky area of life where even the most poised and polished of women have trouble. Issa cheated on her boyfriend with an old classmate, while Olivia was having a long-standing affair with the then-married POTUS. Their worlds may be miles apart, but their relationship issues are perhaps more similar than one would imagine. With Scandal nearing the end of its runs, fans are eagerly wondering if everyone’s favorite fixer will get her happy ending. Mary Jane Paul – Being Mary Jane : While only on the air a few years longer than Insecure , it’s hard not to notice how Mary Jane Paul and Issa Dee both have a lock on who can find themselves in the messiest romance scenarios. Mary Jane may not share Issa awkwardness, but she definitely shares her insecurities of not feeling good enough…in work or in love. Also like Issa, just when you think Mary Jane is finally about to get her rainbow at the end of her storm, the other shoe drops and she’s right back at square one. DON’T MISS: Stork Alert!
