Christina El Moussa has given herself an early Christmas present… … it’s a brand new husband! The HGTV host took fans by surprise on Saturday by announcing that she has tied the knot with long-time boyfriend Ant Anstead. The wedding, described by People Magazine as a “winter wonderland,” took place at the couple’s home in Newport Beach, California. The couple shocked even the 70 or so loved ones in attendance by initially asking them over to charter a bus that would transport the group to watch the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. But then… SURPRISE! It was time for a wedding ceremony instead. “We wanted to make it about the kids,” said Anstead to People Magazine . “It’s the six of us. We’re a blended family so it was really important for them to be a part of it.” El Moussa shares daughter Taylor, 8, and son Brayden, 3, with ex-husband Tarek. The two shot to fame as the co-hosts of the home renovation and real estate sale series Flip or Flop. Anstead, meanwhile, has a daughter named Amelie, 15, and son named Archie, 12, from a previous marriage. The two started dating in November of 2017, an occasion El Moussa marked last month via an emotional Instagram post. “@ant_anstead you have showed me what real unconditional love is,” Christina wrote after detailing their first, lengthy phone call. “You take me for what I am, flawed and a bit crazy,” she added at the time Fast forward a few weeks and… bam! The stars are husband and wife. “We wanted it to be rustic romance,” explained El Moussa to People of her second wedding, telling the outlet that she wore a lace dress by designer Ines Di Santo. Christina also noted that she’ll be taking her new husband’s last name. “It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?” she asked People. “Christina Anstead. We couldn’t be any happier.” Christina and Tarek divorced back in 2016, following reports that they got into an argument and then Tarek stormed off into the woods with a gun . Tarek admitted to doing so many weeks later, but explained that he was simply afraid of wild animals at the time. Yes, he was angry at Christina. No, he was not suicidal. The pair actually still host Flip or Flop together and have only said kind things about each other in public. This has long seemed like a legitimately amicable break-up for all involved. “Tarek is happy for Christina,” a source tells Us Weekly. “He’s moved on but still cares about her deeply.” As for her new man and new life? Christina says she’s just glad that the secret is finally out. “Every day we were checking the internet to see if anyone found out,” she told People. “Then the day we went to get our marriage license, the guy working was like hyperventilating, excited. We had to tell him this is a huge secret. No one knows.” Did everything go smoothly in the end? Yes, she concludes: “It was just perfect for us. Everything we wanted.”
