Sophia Bush has been divorced from Chad Michael Murray for well over a decade. The former One Tree Hill co-stars got married in April of 2005 and split up just five months later, shattering the hopes and dreams of all who watched and adored their WB drama. This all played out a very long time ago, yet Bush stopped by Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM radio show this week and dredged up the ancient and awkward past. In an interview with the Bravo executive, Bush actually said she didn’t even marry Murray out of love. She agreed to the legal union due to pressure from those associated with One Tree Hill. “It was like the second season, but everyone’s been 22 and stupid,” Bush said of the relationship, adding that marriage “was not a thing I actually really wanted to do” and later explaining: “Ladies have to learn how to take up space in the way that men are taught that they are entitled to.” Interesting, huh? And very layered and sort of vague and confusing, right? “If you didn’t want to get married, how do you get to the point of being talked into it?” asked Cohen. “How do you let everybody down?” the actress responded, continuing: “And how do you – what’s the fight and when you have bosses telling you that you’re the only person who gets a person to work on time and 200 people either get to see their kids at night or they don’t because our days start on time?” So… Bush was talked into being with Murray because she could control him on set? “Life is always loaded,” she told Cohen. “What the public knows ever is never – it’s not the tip of the iceberg. “Hilarie [Burton] and I used to laugh and we were like, ‘If we had a behind-the-scenes show, the drama would be so much f-cking better than the drama that the writers write.'” Shortly after her interview with viral, Bush tried to walk back her apparent criticism of Murray. She Tweeted that she was making fun of herself, not her former co-star and husband. “When you’re taking the piss out of yourself – b/c people can’t let the past go & you really wish they would – & gossip rags try to turn it into inappropriate drama rather than self-deprication,” she wrote. “Don’t twist people’s words, y’all. If it wasn’t clear, I was making fun of MYSELF.” Murray, however, was among those who took offense to Bush bringing up their marriage all this time later. Especially when she did absolutely say that the romance had as much to do with her professional obligations as how she actually felt about Murray. “This story is ludicrous,” a rep for the actor said in a response statement, adding: “Chad conducts himself in a completely professional manner and would never marry for any reason but love. “Thirteen years since his divorce from Sophia, he has a very happy family life with his wife and children. “He has completely moved on and doesn’t feel the need to engage in this type of behavior.” View Slideshow: 19 Best Shows in CW History: Ranked!
Cardi B pulls A Jerry on Jerry Seinfeld . If you remember a few years back Jerry infamously ignored Kesha’s request for a hug during an interview. Well on the latest episode of Between Two Ferns with Zack Galifianakis , Jerry stops by the show only to be replaced for a better guest, Cardi B. Two thirds through the interview the Bodak Yellow singer comes out and Zack makes Jerry sit on a milk crate to have some delightful banter with Cardi B event giving her a gift for her new baby. After some small talk they end the interview, Cardi gives Zack a hug, as Jerry waits with his arm out, but Cardi walks right by him without so much as a glance in Jerry’s direction. With perfect comedic timing Jerry says, “That was the opposite of what happened with Kesha,” Seinfeld said, referring to the time the singer asked him for a hug on the red carpet but he declined. In December, Jax Taylor’s father died following a cancer battle . Cancer is the actual worst, folks. Months later, on his late father’s birthday, Jax has taken to social media to share his thoughts on his dearly departed dad. Jax was clearly able to be emotionally honest, because you can tell that he wrote this from the heart. Jax Taylor’s father, Ronald Cauchi, is gone but not forgotten by his son. On Tuesday, June 12, Jax posted a tribute to his father on Instagram. “Happy birthday to my angel in the sky,” Jax writes. “I love you so much dad and I miss you more and more each day.” Losing a loved one can get easier over time, but … not in just a few months. “Since you have left you have changed me in so many ways,” Jax writes. Recent stories about Jax have made it sound like he’s really thinking about what sort of person he wants to be. Jax then adds: “Thank you for being my father.” There is no good time to lose a loved one. “My new goal in life,” Jax announces. “Is to be exactly the man you are to your family.” He makes it clear that he is not the only one who thinks that his father was a good person. Jax continues: “Jenny and I are still getting messages from your friends on what an incredible man you are…” He adds elipses there at the end, showing that he is pausing to find the words. This is an emotional message. “I am so f–king proud to be your son dad,” Jax writes. That is so sweet. His father is going to miss on some major life milestones. “My only wish is that you could see me and Brittany on our wedding day,” Jax laments.”And meet your grandchildren.” Jax and Brittany Cartwright are actually engaged . Like we said, it seems like he’s really stepping up. Jax takes comfort in one thing: “But I know you will be with me in spirit and help guide me the rest of my life.” That is so heartwarming to read. “I love you dad…” Jax trails off again. Even in print, sometimes deep and powerful emotions can be difficult to express. “Until we see each other again, keep the fireball ready and the redwing game on.” Jax ends his post on a seemingly alarming note. “I’ll see you soon,” he writes. “Cheers pop.” Despite his phrasing, we absolutely do not believe that Jax is expressing the expectation that he will die any time soon. We think that he instead means that, in comparison to the vastness of eternity, the rest of his long and hopefully happy life will seem relatively short. This is a sweet and tender message and shows how sensitive Jax can be as a person. Not only was Jax’s father’s birthday this week, but Father’s Day is coming up right around the corner. You know that this holiday celebration is going to be emotionally challenging for Jax. Perhaps even surprisingly so. When you are grieving a loved one for that first year, sometimes you don’t always anticipate which days are going to have the strongest emotional impact. Father’s Day is not one of the subtle ones.
