According to The New York Times , Alitalia airlines released an advertisement on social media this week that featured an actor donning blackface in order to play President Barack Obama. The ad was one of four Italian-language clips used to promote the airline’s recently announced nonstop flight from Rome to Washington. Other videos have actors portraying Trump, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln with the hashtag #WhereIsWashington. The video quickly drew angry comments on Facebook and YouTube, mostly written in Italian. Comments on Facebook called the clip “outrageous” and many folks pointed out that blackface was “universally considered a racist practice.” A representative for the airline initially defended the ad, saying that the actor portraying Obama wasn’t White and that “makeup was applied to highlight features.” Eventually, the company came to their senses and issued an apology on Wednesday. They said they would remove the ad from all it’s social media platforms. “Alitalia deeply apologizes for the offense caused by the promotional video on our Washington route,” they tweeted out. “It has since been removed. Heartbreaking news today from two members of the Duggar family. In a lengthy and understandably emotional Instagram post, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth have alerted fans to the following: They’ve lost their baby. Along with the photo above, this is what the couple wrote on its official social media page late Wednesday night: Today marks one week since we heard these words… “So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.” Duggar and Forsyth had announced they were expecting their second child back on May 1, joining a long line of loved ones who were pregnant and looking forward to welcoming a baby later this year. “Our favorite math is addition and we are very excited to share that the Forsyth family is adding a member!” the Counting On stars said at the time, adding: “Marriage and being a mom and dad to Gideon has already far exceeded our expectations. “We are looking forward to loving another little one and seeing what special dynamic he or she brings to our family. Table for 4 sounds perfect!” The couple is already parents to a boy named Gideon. They got married in May of 2017 and Joy-Anna said this spring that she was due in 2019. Tragically, however, this is no longer the case. We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl, they revealed in this new Instagram message , continuing as follows: Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. To conclude their post, she and Austin confirmed the name of their late daughter and wrote: We named her Annabell Elise. Annabell means “God has favored me”, and Elise means “God satisfies”. All focus right now is on Joy-Anna and Austin, however. “We were so sad to hear that Joy and Austin’s baby girl passed away mid-way through their pregnancy,” Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar wrote on Instagram in response to this news, adding: “The pain of losing a child is unimaginable. However, the footage of the fight has led to the arrest of the rapper and fashion icon. TMZ reports : Law enforcement in Stockholm tell us … cops busted A$AP on suspicion of aggravated assault. TMZ broke the story … the rapper and his team got into the brawl last weekend. We posted the first video of the incident, showing Rocky and his entourage tossing a guy and punching him. Witnesses told us the fight started because the man was hounding A$AP and his team over a pair of headphones he claimed they had broken. However, AR later posted a nearly 3-minute long video which showed the man had actually broken his headphones when he smashed them on the head of A$AP’s bodyguard. Even after that clear first shot was taken … Rocky is seen on camera playing peacemaker, trying to calm the situation. According to the outlet, Rocky will be held for at least three days while authorities examine potential charges. Allison and Zeke Brown of Atlanta kindly told the gentleman that because of the flag, his services were no longer needed and sent him on his way. Yahoo! reports : Allison and Zeke Brown of Atlanta, Georgia hired the man, whose name is Michael, to replace the brakes on their golf cart. When he arrived at their home on Saturday, an enormous rebel flag was attached to his truck. “Hi, you know what, I do apologize, I know you’ve come from a very long way, but we’re going to use someone else,” Allison, 40, a radiation therapist, tells Michael, as captured in a video on her Ring app. “She’s upset with the flag,” explains Zeke, 48. “No, I’m beyond upset with the flag,” corrects Allison. Michael offers to remove the flag, but Allison says, “No, you don’t need to take it down. You can continue to believe what you need to believe, sir. But no, I cannot pay you for your services. Thank you, have a good day.” Tough break but that flag’s history when it comes to Black folks and some of the folks who love to fly it made this a rather easy call. Beth Chapman may be gone. But she is very much not forgotten. A day after the late reality star and wife of Dog the Bounty Hunter was laid to rest in Hawaii , Duane Chapman shared a new tribute to his soulmate on social media. And he announced that a second celebration of her amazing life will also take place next week. Having poured his heart out on many occasions since Beth passed away, Duane kept the caption to the above photo very simple, straightforward and factual this time around. It simply included the time, date and location of the aforementioned second memorial service: July 13, 2019 – Heritage Christian Center. 14401 E. Exposition Avenue. Aurora, Colorado 80012 – Doors open at 1:00 Service starts at 2:00. On June 26, Beth passed away at 51 years old after a long battle with throat cancer. She had been diagnosed with the disease in 2017… gone into remission… and then was forced into emergency surgery this past November after the illness returned. Wrote Duane as sad confirmation of her passing last week : “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii. This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.” The famous bounty hunter than spoke to reporters and opened up even more about the loss of his wife. “I loved her so much,” Chapman told these journalists shortly after his wife’s death, adding: “As Lazarus lay, Jesus said he’s not dead, he’s sleepeth. My final words are Beth isn’t dead, she’s sleeping… “I hope to god there is a God. I trained myself [to think] ‘What would Jesus do?’ and I hope I’m not just talking to myself. I hope there is a God and if there is, I’m gonna see my honey again. “That’s all we can do is hope.” As for other details of this upcoming memorial?
