Lil Wayne Retirement: One Album Away?

Lil Wayne just turned 30, but he’s been in the game since he was a teen and has recorded a mammoth number of hits. For that reason, he’s already talking retirement. Plus, 30 years old for a rapper is like 55 for the average human. The hip-hop superstar told MTV News that after he releases his upcoming Tha Carter V . “I know ya’ll want me around for a little bit and Carter V is my last album,” Weezy said. While the rapper is serious about giving up music , he has other professional ambitions. Skateboarding. “I’ve been rapping since I was eight years old. That’s a long time,” said Wayne. “When I like to do something, I end up loving to do it real quick. When I love to do something, I’m fully focused on it and it only. Music is sometimes not that it .” “I’d be a skater or sports analyst” he said. “My day job will probably be sports analyst and I’ll skate all night instead of being in the studio all night.” Fortunately (or unfortunately), the days of Lil Wayne providing NBA color commentary (maybe then he wouldn’t be denied entry by the Thunder ) are a ways off. Before Tha Carter V , Weezy is set to release, I Am Not a Human Being II on February 19.

Gabriel Aubry: Olivier Martinez Started It! Threatened to Kill Me!

Gabriel Aubry is telling a very different story than the one that’s been reported regarding his brawl and arrest for battery on Thanksgiving. With Halle Berry looking to get a restraining order against him, Aubry has already also obtained one against the actress’ fiancee, Olivier Martinez, saying in court documents that the French actor brutally beat him on Thursday after threatening him the day before. According to the Canadian model in a sworn declaration, this is what led to the Gabriel Aubry assault charges: At a school event on Wednesday, Martinez approached Aubry and told him – in French – that he wished he could “beat the sh-t out of him.” Fast forward to Thanksgiving around 10 a.m. and Aubry alleges that Martinez – as opposed to the nanny, which had been customary – met his enemy at the front door when Aubry dropped Nahla off to spend the day with her mother. From there, Martinez leaped off the stairs and went all Chris Brown on Aubry, beating him and yelling that Aubry cost him $3 million in his and Berry’s failed attempt to move Nahla to Paris . He slammed Aubry’s head against the driveway and eventually told him: “We called the cops… you’re going to tell them that you’re the one who attacked me, or I’m going to kill you.” Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that Aubry did not mention this threat when they initially talked to him at the scene. Berry’s side, of course, says that Aubry initiated the brawl, going “nuts” soon after dropping Nahla off for the day, according to the first report filed after this story broke. So it’s your basic case of He Said/He Said/This All Sucks for the Toddler Stuck in the Middle of It. Whose side are you on?   Team Aubry Team Martinez View Poll »

Chris Brown/ Drake Bar Brawl: Meek Mill Speaks Out

‘I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle, and I was there,’ MMG rapper tells XXL of last week’s club fight. By Nadeska Alexis Meek Mill Photo: Chris Brown’s and Drake’s reps have issued statements about the NYC brawl between their entourages last week, but so far, the only direct words from the artists themselves have been via Twitter. Brown and MMG rapper Meek Mill have both tweeted about the incident in the past few days, but now Meek is finally speaking up about what he saw in the club that night as he stood next to Drake. In an interview with XXL, Meek was asked if he threw a bottle during the melee, which left Chris Brown, his bodyguard and several club patrons wounded. “F— no,” the Philly rapper responded, adding that Drake and Brown didn’t either. “Chris and Drake, them two was there, but it’s other people that be around that take sh– to the next level,” he said. “Things just happen in the club. I seen girls in there throwing bottles, all types of sh–. All types of people. I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle, and I was there.” In the hours following the brawl, Meek’s brief tweets didn’t add any clarity to the situation. He began with the coy line, “It wasn’t me…. (shaggy voice) lol,” and later responded to messages from Roscoe Dash, who blasted him along with Drake and Brown for fighting. Meek snapped back, “You gotta chill b4 you b tweeting my name in some sh– i wasn’t even really in! Stay in ya lane!” Later in the day, Brown — who had already deleted his initial tweets and the photo of his injury, which he posted right after the brawl — sent a follow up message, writing, “Me and @MeekMill ain’t on that bullsh–. Real respect Real….” Although the statement seemed odd, right after reports that Meek had played a role in instigating the fight, Meek confirmed to XXL that things were all good between him and Brown. “What [Brown] tweeted was just that me and Meek Mill ain’t got no problem,” he said. “I talked to him immediately after that, on the phone afterwards, like immediately. There’s nothing there, this-that-and-the-third. Chris Brown be in clubs. He be around situations like this. Things get out of hand. That don’t mean it’s out of hand with me and him or whoever, not even him and Drake.” Drake made his first public appearance since the brawl at his Club Paradise Tour stop in New York on Saturday night, bringing Meek along with him, but he made no real statement on what went down last week. Instead, he told fans that he’d had a rough couple of days but was in a much better mood by the time he hit the stage. Details from that night are still being revealed. The nightclub where the incident took place was shuttered this weekend, and clubgoers present at the time are reporting injuries from the brawl . Related Artists Meek Mill Chris Brown Drake

No Drake Arrest Planned For Tonight, NYPD Confirm

But authorities are reportedly calling for extra security at the NY show following Drizzy’s nightclub brawl with Chris Brown. By Rob Markman Drake Photo: Despite numerous reports to the contrary, the NYPD confirmed to MTV News there are no plans to arrest Drake before his show in Long Island, New York, tonight and the investigation into the YMCMB star’s nightclub brawl with Chris Brown is still ongoing. But that doesn’t mean authorities are taking things lightly before tonight’s concert: TMZ is reporting that New York State Police are calling for extra security at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre following the Thursday morning scuffle between Brown’s and Drizzy’s entourages in a New York City club. Reps for Drake have maintained that the Toronto MC did nothing wrong . On Friday night, Cash Money CEO Birdman weighed in on the incident. “To me, Drizzy ain’t did nothin’ wrong, he ain’t done nothin’ wrong to nobody. He’s just doin’ great music,” he told MTV News exclusively. “He’s not a reckless guy out there just wildin’ out; he’s a humble kid makin’ great music.” There has been a ton of finger-pointing following the brawl, which reportedly involved members of both Drake’s and Breezy’s respective crews. Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos has been very vocal in implicating Drake as the main culprit in the incident. “I have turned over evidence that it was Drake who instigated this,” he told the New York Post. “The evidence makes it clear that Chris is the victim of all this. “I believe the police are building a case against Drake and his thugs,” he continued. The police did confirm with MTV News that the case was ongoing but would not confirm that they were ready to arrest the Take Care MC or anyone in connection to the brawl. Coincidently, the manager of the W.I.P. nightclub (where the incident occurred) was arrested Friday due to existing warrants unrelated to the incident. Drake has big plans for tonight’s concert, which is a scheduled part of his critically acclaimed Club Paradise Tour. During an interview with DJ Scoob Doo’s BreadOverBed.com, Drizzy said he plans to outdo Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert. After a radio DJ insulted Nicki Minaj just hours before she was scheduled to perform at the June 3 concert in New Jersey, YMCMB boss Lil Wayne pulled the plug on his label’s all-star performance. “I’ve got everyone you would want to see, plus people that you wouldn’t expect to see,” Drake said. ‘Hunger Games’ Meets Robert Pattinson In Movie Brawl Finals

RPattz’s indie ‘Cosmopolis’ takes on the fresh franchise in MTV Movie Brawl 2012 — vote now! By Eric Ditzian Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate It started three weeks ago with a simple question: What is truly the must-see movie of 2012? Everyone’s got an opinion. Maybe you’re a “Hobbit” guy who can’t believe that, after years of delay, Peter Jackson is set to deliver the first part of his series in December. Or perhaps you’re a “Dark Knight Rises” gal with an insatiable itch to see how Christopher Nolan wraps up his Batman trilogy. Or, hey, possibly you’re thinking, “Screw all these studio-driven tentpoles! I can’t wait for indies like ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ to hit and show us Emma Watson in her first post-‘Harry Potter’ role!” But we got to wondering: What’s the consensus pick? What’s the collective viewpoint across the globe? So we launched MTV Movie Brawl 2012 , a fan-driven tournament to determine the year’s most-anticipated film. Millions of votes have been cast thus far. The debate has echoed from the pages of MTV News to the updates of the Twitterverse and beyond. Now just two movies remain: “The Hunger Games” and “Cosmopolis.” One is a fresh franchise with a huge fanbase. The other is an indie drama featuring one of the biggest stars on the planet. And less than one day into the action — with hundreds of thousands of votes already cast — it’s anybody’s guess what is going to happen. And we couldn’t be more psyched about it. As of this writing ,”Hunger Games” is up by less than 2 percent over Robert Pattinson’s “Cosmopolis.” It’s been an unlikely run for RPattz’s cerebral drama, having entered the Brawl bracket as a #4 seed after an impressive run in the play-in round. From there, “Cosmopolis” dispatched another Pattinson flick in “Bel Ami,” then shockingly dispatched his own “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” “The Dark Knight Rises” proved to be no match for “Cosmopolis,” as well, and so the movie came to face “Hunger Games.” Jennifer Lawrence’s film, which hits theaters in March, was a front-runner from the beginning, and it has not disappointed. Both “John Carter” and Daniel Radcliffe’s “Woman in Black” could not trip up the win-at-all-costs run of “Hunger Games.” So we wonder: Can Pattinson accomplish what no other star has so far in the Brawl? Can he fell the mighty “Hunger Games”? All will become clear when the polls close Monday at 5 p.m. Until then, the vote totals are being closely guarded. It’s up to the fans to keep voting for their fave flick and to make sure their must-see movie is crowned the champion of MTV Movie Brawl 2012. Vote For Your Favorite Upcoming Flick In MTV’s Movie Brawl 2012! What are you waiting for? “Hunger Games” and “Cosmopolis” need your support. It’s time to show character, poise and heart. Jeremy Renner Escapes Crazy Thailand Stabbing Brawl Without Using Bourne Skills

According to the Phuket Gazette, Bourne Legacy star Jeremy Renner was maybe-sorta (okay not really) involved in an insane-sounding bar brawl this week in Thailand in which an associate was attacked and stabbed by a host of bar employees. Oh, I’m sorry: Bar employees wielding knives and a freaking homemade battle axe . But fear not! It seems Renner, most recently seen in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and currently in Thailand shooting his Bourne flick, hightailed it out and escaped unscathed . Wish we could say the same about his reported acquaintance, one Vorasit Issara, who took injuries to his stomach and neck in the melee. [ Phuket Gazette , ETonline ]
