Kim describes origin of her beef with Nicki in interview on New York’s Power 105. By Rob Markman Lil Kim Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage was very forthcoming during her interview with New York Power 105’s Breakfast Club morning show on Thursday (May 17), especially about her feud with Nicki Minaj. Before Kimmy Blanco began fielding questions from show hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee, she questioned why media outlets don’t grill Ms. Minaj like they do her. “She has a way of trying to avoid the situation, and y’all let her do it,” Kim charged before she hit on the root of their issue. According to the Queen Bee, she was on pace to sign with Cash Money, the same label that made Nicki a star. “Me and Slim were friends for four years, and we decided that we were going to go into business together,” Kim said of her plans with CM co-CEO Ronald “Slim” Williams. “I was over there with Cash Money — I was getting ready to be partners with them.” The deal didn’t go through, but Kim did record “Grinding Makin’ Money,” a track that included both Birdman and Minaj. The Notorious K.I.M. claims that the track was slated for Birdman’s 2009 album Priceless but didn’t make the final cut. “They put the record out. I guess they didn’t like the response — they saw the response and they pulled the record off, pulled it back, never put it on his album, nothing,” Kim said. In the Big Momma’s mind, the single was to be beneficial to all parties. For Nicki and Cash Money, doing a song with the female rap great would help stamp a then-budding Minaj. In addition, it would put Kim back into rotation at radio, an important step in restarting her career after she was released from federal prison in 2006. But Birdman and company went cold on the track. “If that would’ve been a big video and a big event record, that would’ve been big for both of us,” Lil’ Kim reasoned. “But I personally think they didn’t want me to stand beside her, which is stupid.” Kim went on to claim that Nicki’s new record “Automatic” is strikingly similar to an unreleased record of the same name that she recorded and played for Cash Money brass three years ago. “On her new album, she has a song called ‘Automatic,’ and the song is so similar to the song that I played for Slim,” Kim charged. “The problem with her is she was very catty with it. I never had a problem with her — I was always, always nice with her, always. She was a very obnoxious person, but I was always nice with her.” Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With Lil’ Kim Related Artists Lil’ Kim Nicki Minaj
Remake of 2008 French film finds Cyrus seeking revenge on a cheating ex-boyfriend. By Fallon Prinzivalli Miley Cyrus in “LOL” Photo: Lionsgate It’s been a long time coming for Miley Cyrus’ remake of the 2008 French film “LOL.” Since the announcement back in 2010 that the film is being distributed by Lionsgate , news on the movie has been lacking. Well, not anymore, Cyrus fans. On Tuesday, the official trailer for the film dropped, which gives fans a preview of what the movie has in store. In a generation that spends more time updating the world about their problems than their families, 17-year-old Lola’s (Cyrus) status is constantly changing. As an attempt to get back at her — now ex — boyfriend Chad for cheating on her with Ashley ( Ashley Greene ), Lola starts seeing his best friend, Kyle ( Douglas Booth ). Her life begins to spiral downward as her grades drop while she experiments with drugs and sex, and a divorce has her mom completely oblivious to it all. Soon she starts to fall for Kyle and things get even more complicated. The trailer is a great peek at the teen drama, and we have the five key scenes from it. EX -Boyfriend The trailer begins with Lola’s voice over: “Every year it’s weird going back to school, but here we are just going with the flow, trying to love and laugh out loud.” She abruptly stops laughing when she calls out Chad on not texting her throughout the summer and he admits he hooked up with Lola’s rival Ashley. She acts like she doesn’t care, but as soon as she enters her room she begins crying on her bed. This emotional scene that sets up the rest of the trailer. A New Beginning Lola quickly gets over her failed romance as she begins hanging out with Chad’s best friend Kyle. A montage begins of their new friendship as they share a lollipop, rock out on an air guitar and come this close to kissing by his car. Everything is even more wonderful when he tells her, “You’re amazing.” We imagine audiences will quickly become fans of Booth. “I can’t believe I ever dated you!” But the puppy love comes to a halt when Lola begins her sexual awakening. It seems rumors begin circulating when Chad says to Lola in the school courtyard, “Now that you’re giving it up I figured maybe I could get some.” The next scene shows Lola lashing out and pushing him into a gate screaming, “I can’t believe I ever dated you!” The trailer isn’t clear on what exactly causes the outburst, but we’re betting it’s pretty bad judging by Lola’s reaction. Trouble In Paradise? As it turns out, Chad’s comment is just the beginning of situations that spiral out of Lola’s control. The next few scenes show a fight with her mom about her grades dropping and a drunken make-out session with Kyle. Her life gets even worse as she witnesses Kyle walking with his arm around Ashley. When she confronts him about it, he denies it and she spits out, “You’re disgusting.” But we already knew Greene’s character would cause a stir when Demi Moore told MTV News “she’s really saucy.” “Status can change, but true love remains the same.” Throughout the next montage of scenes, we see “status can change, but true love remains the same” typed out across the screen as Kyle dedicates a song to Lola and she makes up with her mom. Finally, as a smiling Kyle rests his head on an equally happy Lola, the trailer leaves us with the feeling that despite the craziness of high school, everything will work out for Lola in the end. After all, she did say she just goes with the flow and high school is only the beginning. Are you planning on seeing “LOL” in theaters? Leave your comment below! ‘I don’t like anything about Drake,’ DMX tells New York’s Power 105 on Thursday. By Rob Markman DMX Photo: Jason Kempin/FilmMagic DMX never holds back, and during a Thursday morning (February 23) interview on New York’s Power 105, the Dog spoke his mind — freely. X, who is performing a homecoming concert Thursday night in New York, spoke with the Breakfast Club personalities, Angela Yee, DJ Envy and Charlamagne, opening up about his career and giving his take on some of rap’s newest stars. The Dog let loose his collaboration with MTV’s 2011 Hottest Breakthrough MC Machine Gun Kelly on “I Don’t Dance.” While Dark Man X praised MGK, saying that he was better than 80 percent of the rappers today, he wasn’t as impressed with Drake. When asked if he liked Drizzy, X responded, “No,” without any hesitation. “I don’t like anything about Drake,” he stated freely. “I don’t like his f—ing voice; I don’t like the sh– he talks about; I don’t like his face; I don’t like the way he walks. Nothing. I don’t like his haircut.” It didn’t seem that DMX had a personal problem with the Young Money standout, but Drake clearly isn’t his cup of tea. Neither is Rick Ross. “I’m just not impressed, man,” he said when asked about his opinion on Rozay’s lyrical prowess. X also went on to reveal that he turned down a deal with Ross’ Maybach Music Group. He received interest from the label while he was in prison last year, but he didn’t think MMG was a good fit. “I appreciated the offer, but I really couldn’t see it happening like that,” he said. DMX is getting ready to release his next LP, Undisputed, sometime this year, though he wouldn’t commit to the rumored March date. In his new record deal, all X says he’s looking for is the proper promotion and creative control. It’s a push that he didn’t feel he got during his last few years on Def Jam when his former Murda Inc. rhyming partner Jay-Z was the company’s president. “When he first got the job he gave me a call like, ‘Yo Dog the inmates are running the building, we good,’ ” he said of a conversation that took place between him and Jay some years ago as DMX was prepping his sixth album for the label. In DMX’s mind, his former collaborator felt threatened by the onetime rap superstar. “How do you listen to a whole album, pick a single, shoot a video, then don’t know,” X questioned about Jay’s presidential motives at the time. “OK, I see what’s really good; you’re trying to eliminate the competition.” Were DMX’s comments out of line? Trina stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning and chatted about possibly starring in “Love & Hip Hop: Miami,” (who knew?) her ex NBA baller Kenyon Martin, blind dates and what she likes in the bedroom: Do you believe a man can be in a committed relationship and not cheat? I believe a man can be in a committed relationship but they’re definitely going to slide out and do some other little stuff. It’s just natural. On a possible spinoff called “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” She didn’t deny that a show “might” be in the works but she said she would have to make a decision about whether she would do it or not. Also, she said, “Won’t nobody be throwing drinks in Trina’s face.” I know that’s right… What if the guy is perfect in every other way and takes great care of you? Yeah, that’s all good! You can buy a lot of red bottoms, breakfast in bed early in the morning like “Can I hit it in the morning?” All that is good but if they size ain’t right it’s like a waste of a situation.
