It’s official. Following a change in ascension rules , boy or girl, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be the next heir to the British throne. The leaders of the 16 governments with Queen Elizabeth II as their head of state have unanimously agreed to change the laws in their realms to allow this. Under current laws, the immediate heir is the first-born son of the monarch. Going forward, the immediate heir will be the first-born child of the monarch. That means if Prince William and Kate Middleton have a girl as their first child, she will be the future queen, regardless of whether one or more sons follow. British Prime Minister David Cameron said, “Put simply, if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were to have a little girl, that girl would one day be our queen.” Cameron personally applauded the move, adding that the UK stresses gender equality in all facets of life, making this a logical change to their traditions. Queen Elizabeth II’s son, Prince Charles, is next in line for the throne, followed by Will. The royal hunk will be the king of more than a dozen countries. Those nations are Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Papua New Guinea, St. Christopher & Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tuvalu, Barbados, Grenada, Solomon Islands, St. Lucia and the Bahamas. Adele’s vocal cords are in bad shape. After a year plagued with canceled tour dates and serious bouts of laryngitis, the British singer is on the shelf for the remainder of 2011 after throat surgery. Her record company announced the news with “deep regret,” confirming that all Adele’s concert dates and promotional appearances are cancelled until 2012. Adele’s label said in a statement : “She is to undergo surgery to alleviate the current issues with her throat and a full recovery is expected. As a result, doctors have ordered her to rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments.” It’s unclear when the 23-year-old – whose 21 is currently the bestselling album of the year – is expected to return, but the surgery will not impact her voice. No 2012 appearances have yet been set, but the Grammys are set for February 12. That would seem like an appropriate time and place for a comeback. Unlike the reaction of most Red Sox fans when they heard John Lackey will miss all of 2012 with Tommy John Surgery, here’s hoping Adele returns ASAP!
Congratulations are in order for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart! They’re married! Sort of! At a press conference in Stockholm, Sweden today, the actor – who is touring Europe alongside Ashley Greene in order to promote Breaking Dawn – joked with reporters about that film’s wildly-anticipated wedding ceremony . “The wedding scene’s funny because we used a real priest,” Rob said. “So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony.” Wow. That was fast. Stewart only first confirmed the relationship this month. After Edward and Bella exchange vows, of course, they get it on via a sex scene that was so raunchy, the film was initially given an R rating. Was the scene as hot to fil as it will undoubtedly look? Not exactly, Pattinson said. “The set was crazy and you have about 20 people in the room and someone saying things like: ‘No, Bella would not have made that noise. Can we do it again?'” Robert adds that Bella initiates the intercourse, and wonders about the theme of sex overall in the Saga: “I’ve never been able to relate to that fear of sex or sexuality. It’s funny that all three movies portray sex as something scary and then, when they have sex in the fourth movie, they have a child with really rather devastating consequences. I’m not sure what they are trying to say… never have sex with anyone ever?” [Photo: WENN.com]

Maksim Chmerkovskiy sort of backed off his comments Monday about Dancing With the Stars being “his” show, but is still plenty pissed at the judges. Chmerkovskiy laid into Len Goodman , Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli after what he believed were scathing, personal critiques of his routine with Hope Solo. Lacey Schwimmer and Chaz Bono , who were eliminated Tuesday night, felt similarly and supported Maksim, but Ricki Lake’s partner Derek Hough took the judges’ side. That drew a stinging rebuke from Chmerkovskiy … “Derek Hough has been very supportive of his personal career on the show,” Maksim said in an interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America . “With all due respect, if I had Nicole Scherzinger followed by Jennifer Grey followed by Ricki Lake, I probably would not be upset with the judges either.” Maksim wishes he hadn’t said in the heat of the moment that DWTS is “his” show and he is the reason for its success, acknowledging it’s a team effort. But he won’t praise the judges, either. “I had a long conversation with my dad and I don’t regret anything,” he reflected on GMA . “That’s why I think I’m misunderstood in this situation.” “Everyone is waiting for me to bow my head and plead for forgiveness. I have nothing to apologize for. I’m in the business because I love it.” “The one thing I’m not going to embrace is pointing fingers and disrespectful remarks,” he explained. “Why are judges allowed to compare us to animals and point their fingers and then we can’t say our side and show our opinion?” “I can’t really lose with remarks like this.” Whose side are you on?
The new Breaking Dawn sneak peek , which features Edward carrying Bella into their honeymoon suite? Hot. But the fashion taste of the new Mrs. Cullen, who we can only assume picked out the dresses donned by her bridesmaids for her wedding to Edward? You tell us. Summit Entertainment has released a photo from the big day. It features Ashley Green as Alice Cullen (joined by Jasper Hale and parents Carlisle and Esme Cullen) and she’s wearing a purple frock that Greene tells People was partly based on her character’s past.” See it you yourself now and then vote on the outfit: What do you think of Bella Swan’s fashion sense?

Kris Humphries allegedly wants to yell KUT ! Insiders tell Life & Style – who latest issues screams that Kris and Kim Kardashian are headed for a split – that the power forward “wants out of filming” every waking moment of his existence. “They’ve had no time without a camera. He knows he signed up for this, but I think it’s weighed on him,” the source claims . And Humphries is stuck with Kim and her kamera krew more than he previously believed would happen, considering his employer (the NBA) has canceled the first four weeks of its regular season as the result of a labor dispute. Humphries makes $20,000 per episode, the tabloid says, and recently threatened his wife with the warning: “I’ll only be your little TV husband for a few more weeks.” This, of course, confused Kim to no end: she doesn’t understand the difference between TV and real life.
