Sarah Palin Defends Bristol Reality Show as "Realistic," Slams Teen Mom

With Bristol Palin under fire for the recent word choice of son Tripp on the latest episode of her Lifetime reality show, Fox News contributor Sarah Palin has come to her daughter’s defense. “Haters are going to hate,” Palin told Salon at an NBC cocktail party on Tuesday, adding of Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp : “I think it’s clever, it’s absolutely real and I’m proud of the girls.” Despite the presence of cameras, her increased level of fame and the six-figure salary Bristol is banking from the series, Sarah Palin insists the program does not encourage young women to give birth. “Her show today I think is very positive, it’s very realistic in terms of showing what single motherhood really is,” Palin said. “It’s not like the Teen Mom

She may be off American Idol , but she isn’t taking a career break. Far from it. Jennifer Lopez is off on tour with Enrique Igelsias these days. So she may be too tired or busy to read this at the moment, but it’s worth saying anyhow: today is J. Lo’s 43rd birthday! Send in your best wishes now! Life is pretty darn good for the actress/artist at the moment. She raked in millions through Idol , she resurrected her career and she’s getting hot and heavy with a much younger dancer named Casper Smart . Far from shabby! Other stars celebrating the anniversaries of their birth today include: Anna Paquin (30), Summer Glau (31), Barry Bonds (48) and Michael Richards (63). Almost all of them have gone their entire lives without ranting racist taunts at stand-up comedy shows attendees!

Bristol Palin Reality Show: Pulled From Prime Time, Replaced By Dance Moms Re-Runs!

Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp is so unpopular, it can’t even beat a RERUN of Dance Moms on Lifetime. So it’s been pushed to 11 p.m. , according to reports. Lifetime will now be airing a new Dance Moms episode at 9 p.m. Tuesdays, followed by a repeat at 10 p.m. in Bristol’s old slot, then Palin afterward. The season premiere of Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp aired June 19 to abysmal ratings and worse reception from critics. It may be the worst show ever. It eked out a total audience of 726,000 viewers, many of whom probably hated it pretty bad, and a meager 0.2 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. The show follows the daughter of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin as she lives in an L.A. mansion and volunteers for charity. Bristol Palin also rides a mechanical bull and so forth. She brings along little Tripp, of course, her son by Levi Johnston, who turned down money to appear on the show because it’s too bad for even him. What’s more, Kyle Massey , Bristol’s former friend and DWTS co-star, is suing Lifetime claiming he created the idea and was screwed out of the project. Bristol Palin Reality Show Ratings: Terrible!

Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp was not a trip taken by many. Ratings for the premiere of Lifetime‘s new reality show were as bad as the quality on screen, drawing an underwhelming 726,000 total viewers , Deadline reports. The series starring Sarah Palin’s daughter, which aired against MTV powerhouse Teen Mom , fell dramatically from its lead-in, Dance Moms, which drew 1.8 million. Dance Moms also posted 992,000 watchers in the 18-49 age range, whereas Life’s A Tripp drew only 250,000 … on top of its universally negative reviews. The point of the show is very much unclear, but it will continue to follow Bristol Palin and her son every Tuesday until Lifetime mercifully pulls the plug. Levi Johnston probably made the right move in turning down a chance to be on this … you don’t want to lower yourself to the entertainment basement.

Snooki: Clothed, Riding on Scooter For Some Reason

Snooki has a hot new set of wheels. The Jersey Shore star, now 6-7 months pregnant, is now riding around Seaside on a motorized scooter … for reasons unknown to humankind. The 24-year-old was seen Tuesday in the electric three-wheeler cruisin’ down the boardwalk . It’s unclear if she’s hurt or just sort of felt like it. Despite the recent Snooki nude pic leak, which she (presumably) had nothing to do with, the reality star has toned down her party girl ways. Since learning she was expecting her first child with fiance Jionni LaValle, she’s nothing like the wild child who used to date that d-bag Emilio Masella . Thank goodness for her baby boy’s sake. At one point, Pauly D was seen putting his muscles to work to lift Snooki’s scooter into her new house, located next door to the gang’s cesspool. Not only did she move into her own private, quiet digs, but Snooki even exhibited more mature behavior over the weekend while out at Karma. “She was sitting the whole time. Let’s be clear: Kim Kardashian nude is not exactly an unusual sight on the Internet. Heck, we have an entire album filled with this reality star’s Playboy photos . Then, there was that time she posed naked for W … oh, and also for Harper’s Bazaar . But a Tweeted photo that has been circulating around the Web today – and appears to be just the latest example of Kardashian baring pretty much all – has now been debunked: as similar looking at the following birthday-suited woman may be, this is NOT Kim Kardashian. The Twit pic – which is actually of model Amia Miley – was originally believed to have been posted by Kanye West, but the rapper’s camp quickly shot down that rumor with a statement to E! News. “This is obviously the desperate, sad act of someone seeking to gain media exposure by exploiting Kanye’s notoriety. Kanye doesn’t even know this person, has never seen this picture, and hasn’t been on his Twitter account for a day. It’s a shame that in our media culture, the rampant spread of this kind of irresponsible ‘reporting’ occurs with such regularity and with such impunity.” Seriously. How dare Internet users think someone would Tweet an image of Kim Kardashian in the buff ? From where would they get this crazy notion?!?

Lifetime has released some promotional pictures for Bristol Palin’s new reality show, and doggone it, she looks like such a grounded, normal mom ! Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp (get it?!) premieres on June 19 with two (!) episodes. Here’s one awesome reason why you should check it out, too. Behold, Bristol riding a mechanical bull. She’s so fun! This pic was taken, of course, during the infamous incident where Bristol was asked if she rides Levi like that (hilarious) and then got all up in the face of a heckler who said some really vile things about her mom (not hilarious). Through it all, Life’s a Tripp will document the ups and downs of Sarah Palin’s daughter as she adjusts to life in L.A. with her young son, Tripp. “Giving viewers a unique look at the difficult decisions she makes for relationships and family,” Lifetime says, will testify to Palin’s resolve. Bristol Palin Reality Show Sneak Peek: I’m a Grounded, Normal Mom!

Bristol Palin insists that viewers will see a more “normal” and “grounded” side of her on Lifetime’s new reality show, Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp . “I think I have tough skin and I know that God is on my side and my faith is everything to me,” she said on Good Morning America earlier today. “It’s just the root of my life and my family’s life and I think it will do well.” Robin Roberts’ MDS revelation dominated the show, but the daughter of Sarah Palin sat down for a brief interview regarding her new program. Bristol Palin on Good Morning America Bristol Palin says people will find her a lot more normal than they think when they see the show, premiering June 19, but she’s no shrinking violet. Sarah Palin’s daughter, who gave birth to son Tripp with fake fiance Levi Johnston in 2008, says she has turned haters (like Bill Maher ) into her motivators. “When people talk poorly about me, I think it just gives me more motivation to want to do more and want to speak up even louder,” she says. “They’re just not doing themselves well by doing that.” Bristol says Sarah Palin supports the show and trusts her judgment always. Little Tripp was also open to the idea of having cameras at home. “Tripp didn’t care if cameras were there or not,” Bristol said. “He’s still going to be rowdy, still going to be a little terror, but it was a lot of fun.”
