‘Catching Fire’: Wait, Is Romeo Joining The Cast?!

Romeo Miller tells MTV News he’s already met with Lionsgate about possibly appearing in one of the ‘Hunger Games’ flicks. By Kevin P. Sullivan Romeo Photo: Romeo Miller (formerly known as Lil’ Romeo) has racked up an impressive number of credits in the decade or so that he’s been acting. As the 22-year-old makes moves in his career as an adult actor, Romeo has his eyes set on one franchise in particular. One of Miller’s ideal projects would be a trip to Panem for ” The Hunger Games ,” he told MTV News during a recent interview for ” Madea’s Witness Protection .” In fact, he’s already met with Lionsgate to discuss the possibility. Although he got his start as the rap star son of Master P, Miller has been acting for years now. “A lot of people don’t know I’ve been doing this for 10 years now,” he said. “I felt that all of that was practice, leading up to the time now.” But for his next roles, Miller has his sights set on an acting career similar to Will Smith. “I want to be the next big action hero or I want to do a lot of romantic type movies, romantic comedies, a little bit of everything, but definitely the next action hero,” Miller said, and then added, “You can see me in ‘The Hunger Games’ or something like that. Just throwing that out there.” Though he admitted to not being very familiar with Suzanne Collins’ books, Miller confirmed that there has been some discussion about possibly joining “Catching Fire,” which is currently casting. “I actually just met with Lionsgate about that, so you may be seeing me in one of the ‘Hunger Games.’ That’s all I’m saying,” Miller said. “Not a particular role, we just had a meeting, seeing if it was something I was interested in. I can’t really talk too much, or they’ll kill you. You know how ‘The Hunger Games’ is.” Who should Romeo play in “Catching Fire”? Leave your comment below! The Wanted Cool Down ‘Chasing The Sun’ For ‘Ice Age’ Video

‘My dreams have come true by being in this video,’ Siva Kaneswaran tells MTV News of ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ clip. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness Photo: The Wanted chilled with vampires in their first “Chasing the Sun” video, but when it came time to film a second clip for the track, things got even chillier. In the new version, for the “Ice Age: Continental Drift” soundtrack, the guys perform on some icebergs while footage from the film plays. MTV News was on set with the British boy banders when they shot the clip, and despite the song’s more mature party theme, the idea of “Chasing the Sun” can easily be adapted into a family-friendly anthem about chasing something other than tequila shots. “I think this song, it can mean many things,” Jay McGuiness explained while shooting the clip. “To some people, it is partying all night and chasing the sun the next morning. That’s what that [first] video’s about; the girls, the teeth are there, the vampires. So we’re all there partying away. And that’s one aspect of the song. Another aspect of the song is chasing your dreams, the unattainable acorn in the distance.” The fourth film in the “Ice Age” franchise will hit theaters July 13, and several pop stars are in the cast, including Nicki Minaj, Drake and Jennifer Lopez has a part. This time around, the film’s leading men, Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary) and Sid (John Leguizamo), go off on a new adventure where they meet up with pirates while exploring a new land. “I’m the biggest fan [of these films],” Siva Kaneswaran said. “My dreams have come true by being in this video.” Nathan Sykes added: “I’d actually like to argue with you and say I’m a bigger fan than you.” McGuiness attempted to settle any band beef over by casting the entire group in the next franchise, if there should be one. “I think animated movies, in general, are great, and ‘Ice Age’ is like the cr

Gwen, who stands 6’3″ (” or 6’4 1/2 “, she says, ” depending on when you measure me “), caught Polly’s eye while working retail in Brighton, England. Polly says she walked in to the shop where Gwen worked one day “and there she was, surrounded by men, showing them some photos of herself at a recent party. I told her who I was and asked if she would be interested in me taking some photos of her, and she immediately said, “As you can see, I’m an exhibitionist, so I’d love that’.” Gwen and Polly ended up working together for nearly five years on the series, Bunny , although Polly says ” it did take me about six months to persuade her to take off her clothes .” Gwen explains that, at first, ” what I found terrifying early on was being confronted by my own nakedness,” but “after three years of drama school… I can look at the photos and think, ‘Wow, that looks great’.” See more of Gwendoline Christie nude in Polly Borland’ s Bunny series after the jump!

Katy Perry Breaks Silence On Divorce

‘There were times when what was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming,’ Perry says in a new interview. By Gil Kaufman Katy Perry on the cover of Hollywood Reporter Photo: Katy Perry has been mum on the details of her divorce
from Russell Brand. But in a new cover story in the Hollywood Reporter Perry gives a peek into the difficulty she faced in the split, as well as her plans to launch her own record label. ‘There were times when what was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eyes and not my false lashes just as I’m about to go up on that ramp and sing ‘Teenage Dream,'” she said. Speaking in advance of the release of her 3D concert documentary, “Katy Perry: Part of Me,”
the 27-year-old pop singer said it’s impossible for anyone else to know what went on inside her brief marriage to the British comedian. “Nobody knows what really happened except the two people who are in it.” Part of her vision for the movie was to document her relationship with Brand as it crumbled just as her career was launching into the stratosphere with a record-breaking string of hit singles from Teenage Dream . That kind of honesty was in keeping with her heart-on-sleeve method of writing songs and she said, “Honesty has always worked for me … so if it ain’t broke, why f—ing fix it?” After putting up $2 million of her own money to make “Part of Me” a reality, Perry and her team are expecting the movie to have an opening to rival Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” $30 million first weekend. First, though, she had to convince her nervous business manager that it was worth dropping the cash to film her November 2011 concert at Los Angeles’ Staples Center in 3D. “I was like, ‘Please trust me,'” she said she told him. “That’s kind of been the mantra I’ve said to everyone my whole life: ‘Trust me, I have a vision.'” That same vision came into play in the recently released video for “Wide Awake,” which Perry wrote for the film and which ends with a shot of her triumphantly ascending to the stage during her smash California Dreams Tour. Regardless of how the movie does, the relentlessly drive Perry has other business ventures in mind, including launching her own record imprint. Her as-yet-unnamed label will help give struggling artists a hand up in the same way that some music industry folks took a chance on Perry early on. “When it does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success,” she said. “As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?'” Check out everything we’ve got on “Katy Perry: Part of Me.”

Receipts Across the Pond: Prometheus Continues to Top While Newcomers Fizzle

Moviegoers in the U.K. continued to send Prometheus , Men in Black 3 , and Snow White and the Huntsman into the top three spots of the box office, while ’80s hair metal pic Rock of Ages , which landed at number four though its numbers actually suggested a softer opening than its U.S. equivalent , according to figures from The Guardian. Red Lights , which will not open in the U.S. until mid-July and starring Sigourney Weaver, Cillian Murphy and Robert De Niro, performed “landed limply.” With the U.S. number one release Madagascar 3 not in the mix yet in the U.K., Prometheus held supreme in the British box office, grossing £2,009,955 ($3,163,614) from 522 sites. That’s a PSA that’s roughly on par with its U.S. counterpart, though it’s been in theaters an extra week. Men in Black 3 took in £1,544M ($2.429M) from 495 sites. Snow White and the Huntsman stayed at number three, taking in £1,297M ($2.041M) at 496 locations, while Rock of Ages managed just over £1M ($1.57M) at 479 sites. Converted to dollars, its Per Screen calculates to about $3,278 compared to its opening $4,340 Stateside. Rock of Ages placed fourth on the U.K. box office. Red Lights landed sixth behind Sundance 2012 title The Pact , which will open in the U.S. on July 6th (it took in £475,936 -$749,433 – from 317 sites and has totaled just under £2 million since bowing June 8th there). Red Lights grossed £445,109 ($701,031) for a PSA around $2,434. Marvel Avengers Assemble (as it is called over there) placed 7th with £376,991 ($593,592) from 276 sites. ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’: The Early Reviews Are In!

U.K. critics are divided down the middle on Sony’s ‘Spider-Man’ reboot, starring Andrew Garfield as the friendly neighborhood hero. By Josh Wigler Andrew Garfield in “The Amazing Spider-Man” Photo: Peter Parker swings back into U.S. theaters on July 3 with “The Amazing Spider-Man,” this time played by British up-and-comer Andrew Garfield — and while Stateside critics have stayed hush-hush on their feelings about the “Amazing” reboot for now, our friends across the pond have been more outspoken with their reactions. Several U.K. news outlets including The Guardian and Empire have published their reviews of director Marc Webb’s “Spider-Man” reboot, following the film’s London premiere on Monday. The consensus is not unlike Parker’s own superhero career: rocky at points, healthy at times and flat-out “amazing” in other areas. Keep reading for the good and the bad from the early “Amazing Spider-Man” reviews! Webb & The Web-Spinner “Webb successfully treads a fine line between keeping the hardcore superhero-movie fans happy and injecting a dose of meaningful affect. Parker is generally reckoned to be the most ‘relatable’ figure in the superhero canon, but the pastel-bright synthetics of the earlier movies did little to dispel the sense that the comic-book world could only construct its characters out of clunking great blocks of melodrama. In re-engineering Parker into the introspective, uncertain male more typical of his previous film, Webb is aided by a terrific performance from Andrew Garfield, who brings a genial unflappability that allows him to negotiate the often-ludicrous demands of the superhero plotline. At the same time, Webb also shows an unarguable facility for the more traditional action elements of the story, and the 3D certainly helps: he pulls off some properly nauseating shots as Parker dives off skyscrapers, rescues kids from falling, and the like.” — Andrew Pulver, The Guardian Toning It Down “The shadow of ‘Batman Begins’ looms as ‘Amazing’ opens, the gold standard of origin-skewed reboots riskily invoked. Parker as a child plays games at home, stumbles on some destiny-sealing revelations, loses his parents on a stormy night… A dark roots movie steeped in tragedy? Some ‘untold story,’ that. Webb finds much surer footing as Parker hits high school, helped by crack casting. More confident than the last, this Parker is slick on a skateboard and not shy about standing up to Flash Thompson. The geek just got chic: who better to play him than the guy with the algorithms and rhythm from ‘The Social Network’? A young buck made testy by grief, a rebel without a comb, Garfield nails all bases here, star DNA aglow. Stare-y eyes melting, he’s winningly earnest; lithe of physique, he delivers in the dust-ups; blithely gatecrashing Gwen Stacy’s bedroom, he gives good dreamboat.” — Total Film Love For The Ladies “Then there’s his needle-sharp young girlfriend, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), who wants to get under his skin even more than that radioactive arachnid did; find out what it is that makes his Spidey-senses tingle. Amid all of the soul-searching and lip-biting, it suddenly struck me: Webb has created the first superhero movie aimed primarily at women. Ever since ‘Twilight’ tipped off Hollywood to the spending power of girls and their mothers, a range of increasingly expensive films aimed at that audience has materialised. Perhaps it was only a matter of time before a superhero suited up with them in mind, although it remains to be seen how die-hard Spider-fans will react to their hero courting a different — some would say rival — demographic.” — Robbie Collin, The Telegraph The Negative Spin “Director Marc Webb aims for a new realism, stripping away the brio of Sam Raimi’s 2002 version with Tobey Maguire. He also dispenses with much of the character and sass that always made this character fun. It’s not Garfield’s fault: he is a convincingly troubled, inarticulate Peter Parker, a springily athletic Spider-Man, and has awesome hair. His greatest enemy is the script. That, and the rather wearisome 3D.” — Nick Curtis, The London Evening Standard The Final Word “Graced with great performances from Garfield and Stone, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ is a rare comic-book flick that is better at examining relationships than superheroism. If it doesn’t approach the current benchmark of ‘Avengers Assemble,’ it still delivers a different enough, enjoyable origin story to live comfortably alongside the Raimi era.” –Ian Freer, Empire What do you think of the early “Spider-Man” reviews? Charlotte Neve, Young British Girl, Wakes Up From Coma After Hearing Adele Song

No one is crediting Adele for saving a young girl’s life … but she helped. Charlotte Neve, 7, suffered a brain hemorrhage that left her in a coma last year. Doctors had just about given up on the girl and told her family to say her goodbyes. That’s when a miracle, or the closest explainable thing to it, happened. As Adele ‘s “Rolling in the Deep” – one of Charlotte’s favorite songs – came on the radio, Neve’s mom Leila began to sing it to Charlotte … and she smiled. “I absolutely couldn’t believe it,” Neve told The Telegraph (UK). “It was the first time she had reacted to anything since the hemorrhage. The nurses were astounded and told me to keep singing, and she smiled again.” Within a few days, Charlotte, who suffered several strokes since her brain hemorrhage, was able to get out of bed. Following physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and some speech therapy, the fighter was even ready to go home. Adele Grammy Performance 2012 “It was like she was rebooting,” recalls Leila Neve. “She was allowed to come home for the weekend and the first thing she said was ‘home sweet home.'” Although the British youngster has been left with some blindness and memory loss, she has since enrolled in dance class and is attending school again. “Charlotte has been brilliant,” said the elder Neve. “She is so determined and brave. The doctors have stopped telling us what she should be able to do – because she has amazed them so much.”
