Rita Ora, Drake, Cardi B, Janelle Monae, Beyonce and Jay Z, and Ella Mae are just a few of the nominees who will battle it out to take home a trophy this time around. Andy Cohen is already getting backlash for his parenting skills. Which he has had approximately two weeks to perfect. According to opinionated trolls on social media, that is more than enough time. The 50-year-old Watch What Happens Live host welcomed his first son , Benjamin Allen Cohen, via surrogate on February 4. And on Friday, what started as a funny Instagram story quickly turned South. Cohen shared a comical video of his dog, Wacha, destroying the baby’s new stuffed Torah, a gift from a Rabbi. “Did you just eat my son’s stuffed Torah that the Rabbi gave him Wacha? And now you’re exhausted? That was my son’s Torah. Did you want to explain to my son what you did?… And what do I tell the Rabbi? Wacha? Wacha!” Cohen jokingly teased his pet. Immediately the first-time father was flooded with DMs about his “big problem” on his hands with “jealous” Wacha. The parent shamers scolded the host for the way he handled the situation. And some even suggested that he shouldn’t have the pooch at all. Dad shaming is bad enough, but dog shaming is NOT acceptable. The ridiculous messages provoked Cohen to explain to the haters that he did not, in fact, have a big problem on his hands. He made it clear that Wacha is not jealous, as well as that he has two loves in his life now. “Wacha didn’t know that the Torah toy, we’re talking about a Torah toy, belonged to the baby. He just had his eye on a purple toy, and he wanted to rip it apart. It’s not that deep. Stand Down. Everything’s fine in the West Village,” one message read. In another video, he tells Wacha, who licks him, “Hey, I’ve been a dad for 12 days. People are judgy as f–k. We gotta be careful, ok?” And “sometimes a Torah toy is just a Torah toy, everybody!” he added. Now that the TV personality has successfully passed his first ‘dealing with annoying people’s opinions’ test, we think he will be an excellent father. To both of his children! Folks, we really didn’t think it was possible, but somehow, Meghan Markle’s awful family got even messier this week. And just when we were convinced the situation couldn’t get any more ridiculous, the Markles went ahead and dragged George Clooney into it. To be fair, Clooney willingly waded into this swamp when he compared Meghan to Princess Diana . But he probably never imagined his stern warning to the British press would lead to such a harsh rebuke from Meghan’s loser father and half-sister. First, Samantha Markle lashed out at Clooney : “Hey Looney Clooney! Your lawyer wife should have taught you not to make statements without full facts,” she tweeted. “I doubt #GeorgeClooney would ghost his mother for no legitimate reason. Be quiet Georgie.” Now, it’s Thomas’ turn, and as you may have guessed, his remarks are just as asinine. Speaking with TMZ, Tom blasted George’s comments as “frustrating” and “irresponsible.” The site reports that Thomas took Clooney’s remarks “as a dig” and encouraged the actor to “do a little research before he talks about Meghan and her father.” It seems the part of Clooney’s comments that really got under Thomas’ skin had to do with a letter the elder Markle received from Meghan, As you may have heard, Thomas sold Meghan’s letter to a tabloid, and the whole world wound up reading the Duchess of Sussex’s private comments. “I can’t tell you how frustrating that is, just seeing them broadcast a letter from a daughter to a father,” Clooney said during a recent press conference to promote his new series, Catch-22 . “She’s getting a raw deal there, and I think it’s irresponsible and I’m surprised by that.” As TMZ points out, it seems that George’s comments are aimed more at the press than at the Markles. Still, Thomas is the one that made the letter public, so it’s not hard to see how he might interpret the comment as shade. Along with his wife, Amal, Clooney attended Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry back in May. Sources say the couples are close, and Amal has helped Meghan acclimate to life in London. So it’s no surprise to see George sticking up for Meghan. Of course, you don’t need to be her BFF to know that Meg’s family sucks. Despite finding her footing as a track and field athlete, Franklin fell into a deep depression. after she suffered through a domestic violence incident with her ex-boyfriend. She failed her classes and it tremendously affected her competing skills. She finished her senior year without a sponsorship or financial support. But a move to Chicago would provide a breath of fresh air and new opportunities. Franklin found a couch and with the support of her family, landed a Nike sponsorship. “Through affirmation things just slowly got better,” Franklin revealed in a candid chat as she reflected on childhood times that were reminiscent of the incident she faced in college. “In my childhood that had happened a lot from people who clearly didn’t care about me. I felt like I had a good enough relationship with [my ex] that he would never do anything to violate me in that way.” The shock of the incident left Franklin crying for months. “I realized I couldn’t live my life that way.” Source: Tori Franklin / Tori Franklin Franklin’s athletic career began at a young age. “I’ve always been an active child,” she explained. “Jumping around on the jungle gym, I did karate to dance classes, basketball, track and field, cross country for a little bit.” In high school, she found out just how far sports could take her. “I was told that I could pursue this in college and it would pay for my education and I was like, I’ll stick with this.” But she didn’t realize her own star potential until her freshman year in college. “I was able to qualify for nationals. I didn’t even know what nationals meant.” Franklin joked. She might not have know what the competition was, but she placed third and “it just went up from there.” She set her eyes on making it to the Olympics. “That became my goal. I wrote Olympics 2016 on everything. You might think that royal life is all high tea and beheadings, but it turns out there’s real work involved, and the penalty for choosing not to participate is a stern finger-wagging from the peasants. Okay, so it’s not as severe as the consequences you would face if you decided to stop showing up for work, but the idea of being nationally shamed for your laziness would probably be enough to get your arse off the throne from time to time. Obviously, we kid the Royals only because our forefathers fought a very fancy war with drums and ponytails to secure that right for us. Anyway, we’re sure quite a few of them take real pride in their community outreach work and are motivated by more than just the fear of a withering glare from the Queen during the traditional St. Reginald Day feast of blood pudding and silence. Meghan Markle, for example, has reportedly thrown herself into her work in a way that few royals in recent history could match. Her devotion to bettering the lives of the most marginalized Brits has earned comparisons to Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles Camilla is widely admired for her willingness to take on less photo-op-friendly causes, such as mental health, addiction treatment, and racial justice. Now, it seems Meg is following in her mum-in-law’s footsteps by reaching out to at-risk communities that many might prefer to ignore. Meghan Markle: Bananas For Prostitutes That’s Meghan writing inspirational slogans on bananas at One25 — an organization that reaches out to sex workers in the Bristol region. “I saw this project this woman had started somewhere in the States on a school lunch program,” Meghan told reporters. “On each of the bananas she wrote an affirmation, to make the kids feel really, like, empowered. It was the most incredible idea – this small gesture.” In the video above, Meg can be heard to remark: “I am in charge of the banana messaging.” She proceeded to adorn each nanner with a special message such as: “You are special,” “You are strong,” “You are brave” and “You are loved.” Each one was reportedly adorned with “a tiny heart.” “That really touched me — and I’m not even a royalist,” One25 CEO Anna Smith told reporters. “She had clearly listened and heard what we are all about — that we don’t judge, we simply offer the service and unconditional love. She totally got it.” You’re not alone, Anna. Our cynical American hearts are touched AF over here. The official statement from Kensington Palace describes the organization thusly: “One25 in Bristol – a charity that helps women break free from street sex work, addiction and other life-controlling issues, through practical and emotional support.” So while the situation is rife with potential for cheap jokes about bananas and prostitutes, Meghan’s work with One25 is actually quite admirable. After all, charity work isn’t all homeless puppies and bake sales. Hopefully, Meghan’s example will serve to remind millions that addicts and sex workers are human beings, too. And hopefully, the British tabloid press will be inspired to focus more on Meghan’s charity work and less on her feud with Kate Middleton . We kid, of course — that will never happen. For months now, the British tabloid press has been repeating the same refrain: The Royal Family just doesn’t like Meghan Markle. The reasons for this alleged feud vary wildly from one account to the next. Some say Meghan is just too American for the Brits and their ultra-formal ways. (Depending on who you ask, “American” here might be code for either “Hollywood” or “black.”) Others claim Meghan is a bit of a diva , and she’s rubbed some high-ranking royal officials the wrong way with her persistent need to be in charge. Whatever the case, Meg is not particularly beloved by the palace dwellers these days. And now, it seems there’s a fear that she’s being a bad influence on Prince Harry. Yes, you might think that as a grown-ass man who’s also a freakin’ prince, Harry would be more or less capable of making up his own mind on most issues. But according to British gossip rags, you would be wrong. Royal watchers have particularly taken issue with the manner in which Harry and Meghan shut the press out during their recent tour, just as they have throughout much of Meghan’s pregnancy, “They basically blanked the media on this tour, which is very short-sighted,” says The Sun’s Duncan Larcombe. They may not sound so bad, but apparently, there’s also been a marked change in the way that Harry related to his staff. “All of Harry’s staff have always thought he was fantastic, but the two of them [together] are high maintenance,” says Larcombe of the royal couple, He adds that Harry has become “quite grumpy and aloof from his own inner circle of staff. Harry was always very pally with [them], so this is very unlike him.” Larcombe says that Harry is a changed man these days — and many of those closest to him prefer the old Harry. “What people love about Harry is that he wears his heart on his sleeve,” Larcombe says. “He’s down to earth, a normal guy trapped in the royal world, and he doesn’t take himself very seriously. But now he is.” Of course, Meghan’s influence on Harry hasn’t been entirely negative. According to new report from Vanity Fair , Harry has transformed into a regular health nut. He’s given up smoking and caffeine, and he’s even (temporarily) quit smoking out of solidarity with his pregnant wife. “We never thought Harry would be raving about yoga, but he loves it,” one of his friends says. “He looks great, he’s lost weight, he’s super healthy, and I think he’s really happy although I’m sure he does miss going out with some of his old mates for the occasional pint. “Harry used to love lying in, but he’s up super early with Meghan and the first thing he says he does is a workout, then he has a green juice,” the friend adds. “Meghan is definitely behind his new regimen. They both see a nutritionist and are into their supplements.” Personally, we think all of the dislike for Meghan is absurd. But if she really did convince Harry to exchange Guinness pints for kale smoothies, we may be forced to revise our opinion.
