Lauren Scruggs feels lucky to be alive – even blessed. This, after she accidentally walked into a propeller and lost her left hand and eye. Her mental state is just as astounding as her physical recovery. “It’s kind of weird to say, but I wouldn’t trade it,” the 24-year-old model and blogger says. ” I’ve seen it as a miracle . I’ve been through a lot but I’m living.” Scruggs tells People that she’s adjusting to her prosthetic eye and several different prosthetic arms, plus re-learning how to tie her shoes and drive. It’s hard, but she’s coping. Make that thriving. “Sometimes it’s easy to dwell on the fact that I don’t look the same,” says Scruggs, who is releasing a memoir written with her family this week. “But every day I’m feeling better and better.” Says her father, Jeff: “You don’t take life for granted anymore.” Inspiring story and individual, triumphing over adversity.

According to Us Weekly, the singer and X Factor judge’s ” constant demands ” that her fiance “check in with her” have him fuming and are a main cause of strife. He supposedly “puts her on speakerphone so friends can hear her nagging.” Also, “The romance is gone” for the couple, says the insider. A rep for Spears denies this, while another insider insists that everything is fine, and Jason Trawick wouldn’t pull something like that even if if wasn’t. “That’s not Jason’s style. They’re happy,” said the source. Kris and Bruce Jenner are on the rocks, according to a new report alleging that Bruce is “seriously considering” ending his 21-year marriage to Kris. The reason? The Olympic great “can’t handle her Kardashian empire obsession and inappropriate relationships with other men,” according to a supposed insider. Friends say Bruce has complained to lawyer acquaintances and pals about the strife in their marriage and what it would take to get out from under it. They have supposedly helped him asses their combined wealth, theoretical division of assets and a possible custody arrangements for Kylie and Kendall Jenner . For Bruce, enough is enough (allegedly). “He absolutely hates it when all the cronies at the Country Club jokingly call him Bruce Kardashian,” said an insider close to the male Jenner. “Kris is continually perceived as the moneymaker and the one who wears the pants in the family, and he’s sick and tired of all the humiliation.” As evidenced by anyone who watches Keeping Up With The Kardashians , Kris seems more on par with her daughters than “old fart” Bruce. “This started off as a family show,” Bruce lamented last month. “I don’t want to be involved in a show that talks about penises and sex and all this crap.” There’s also the Todd Waterman situation and Kris’ propensity for inappropriate relationships – to varying degrees, depending on what you read – with other men. The Voice’s Adam Levine is up for six awards, while Justin Bieber earned five nods, including for favorite male artist and favorite pop artist. Sexiest Man Alive Channing Tatum leads men in acting nominations with four; Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence (pictured) are up for three each. Although she hasn’t officially decided on it, actress and avid Democrat Ashley Judd isn’t ruling out a run for U.S. Senate in her native Kentucky. Judd lives in Tennessee and would have to re-establish residence in neighboring Kentucky before challenging Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. The 44-year-old says she’s honored to be mentioned as a potential candidate, but sidestepped the question of whether she would actually run in 2014 . “I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul,” she said. “While I’m very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let’s focus on coming together to keep moving America’s families, and especially our kids, forward.” No Democrats have stepped forward to challenge Republican McConnell, a political powerhouse who already has $6.8 million in the bank for his re-election. In 2008, he won re-election to a fifth term and became Kentucky’s longest serving senator. McConnell spent some $20 million on his last campaign, beating Democrat Bruce Lunsford, a wealthy Kentucky businessman, by 6 percentage points. His campaign manager Jesse Benton, withheld any criticism of Judd – at least for now. “Sen. McConnell and his wife are big fans of Ashley Judd’s movies and appreciate her energy, especially when it comes to bringing young people into the political process,” he said. What do you think?
