Luka Rocco Magnotta, a former adult film actor, is alleged to have brutally killed a man in Montreal and shipped at least two body parts to political parties in Canada. He is now the subject of an international manhunt. Thursday morning, INTERPOL issued an international arrest warrant for Magnotta, who may have fled overseas, with France as one possible destination. He is still at large as of this report. Luka Rocco Magnotta News Report The global bulletin follows a Canada-wide warrant issued by Montreal police hours after officers first entered the 29-year-old suspect’s blood-soaked apartment. It was the scene of one of the most gruesome killings in Montreal in recent memory. Investigators found a torso left in a suitcase, while a hand and foot were mailed to the Ottawa offices of the Liberal and Conservative parties. Police have obtained a video allegedly depicting the crime, and are taking steps to have it removed from a website where it was posted. As authorities search for Magnotta, the young man’s past has come under the microscope and Canadians are trying to come to terms with what kind of person might have committed such gruesome acts. Who is Luka Rocco Magnotta? Born in Scarborough, Ontario, in 1982 as Eric Clinton Newman, he changed his name to Rocco Magnotta in 2006. He has also used the alias Vladimir Romanov. According to a neighbor, Magnotta moved to Montreal four months ago. Magnotta is a self-described male model who launched his bisexual porn acting career “doing webcam shows” in Los Angeles when he was 20 years old. Photographs of him – often shirtless, his lips rouged and set in a model pout – are all over the Internet. Magnotta is featured in a number of online interviews about the porn industry and has often professed his love for cosmetic surgery. According to the Montreal Gazette , animal-rights activists worldwide have been after Magnotta since 2010, after a video surfaced that allegedly showed him placing two kittens in a plastic bag and then vacuuming the air out, suffocating them. Two more videos, also depicting the torture and killing of cats, also have been linked to Magnotta. A $5,000 reward was offered to bring him to justice. Police say Magnotta was romantically linked to Karla Homolka, the former wife of convicted killer Paul Bernado. Homolka was convicted of manslaughter in the 1991-92 rape-murders of three young women, including Karla’s sister Tammy Homolka.
A week after Charlie Sheen’s troubled ex-wife said she was happy to put “this chapter of her life behind her,” Brooke Mueller is back in rehab once again. TMZ reported and her camp confirmed to E! News that the mother of two has relapsed and is seeking treatment . She actually started a few weeks ago. Brooke Mueller, who was officially sentenced to probation last week for felony drug possession, is currently at an undisclosed, in-treatment facility. Interestingly, Sheen of all people played a role in her getting help. Brooke recently came to his L.A. home and seemed out of it, so much so that Charlie felt she needed to be checked out by an addiction specialist. She left before Charlie could convince her to be examined by a professional, but Brooke later decided to seek substance abuse treatment on her own. Brooke previously entered rehab earlier this year following her December cocaine arrest in Aspen, Colo., for which she was sentenced to probation. Biebs ran into a glass wall in between songs and felt a little disoriented. He finished the concert fine, then passed out briefly in his dressing room afterward. On Friday, boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. begins a three-month jail sentence in Las Vegas, Nev., for his recent domestic violence conviction. The undefeated boxer’s legal and ring advisers weren’t immediately commenting about Mayweather’s scheduled Friday morning surrender in court. Mayweather’s conviction stems from a hair-pulling, arm-twisting attack on Josie Harris , the mother of three of his children, in September 2010. Mayweather, whose arrest wasn’t his last, pleaded guilty last December to reduced charges in the altercation with Josie Harris while their two sons watched. In January, Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa agreed to let Mayweather remain free long enough to fight Miguel Cotto on May 5 at the MGM Grand hotel. Mayweather won the bout. Harris’ lawyer isn’t commenting on Mayweather’s scheduled surrender . Harris and the children now live in Southern California. Having effectively won through attrition weeks ago, Mitt Romney officially wrapped up the Republican nomination for president last night with a win in the Texas primary. Romney’s win put an end to the GOP primary as the former Massachusetts Governor began to ramp up his general election message against President Obama. Just after 9 p.m., he Tweeted: “#1144. Thank You. Whatever challenges lie ahead, we will settle for nothing less than getting America back on the path to prosperity.” Despite surpassing the 1,144 delegate threshold, it was just a token evening for the presumptive nominee, whose rivals exited one by one over a month ago. Only Ron Paul is still fighting for delegates. With the White House out of reach, he seeks a prominent role at the party’s convention and in shaping its future. Romney didn’t make a speech last night, but the win was nonetheless symbolic, making him the first Mormon to be a major-party candidate for the presidency. The timing couldn’t have been better, as he is now being treated as an equal to Obama by the national media in what is sure to be a very close 2012 election. He’s pulled almost even with the president in voter surveys, currently trailing by just two percentage points in aggregated national polls, 45.6 to 43.6 percent. Romney probably has a 50-50 chance of being the 45th President of the United States. He’ll distance himself from Donald Trump if he’s smart. Just saying. Dancing With the Stars’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy was photographed kissing fellow pro dancer co-star Peta Murgatroyd this weekend, sparking rumors of romance. On Saturday at the Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, Maksim was there celebrating with Peta, who won Dancing With the Stars with Donald Driver last week. That wasn’t the only time the hard-bodied pair and rumored couple were spotted together in Sin City. Witnesses have seen them together all over Vegas. And, at the opening of Chmerkovskiy’s new dance studio in Connecticut on May 23, the pair stood arm-in-arm while he whispered in her ear.
