Glory Johnson Blindsided By Brittney Griner Ending Marriage Brittney Griner’s wife Glory says she was completely caught off guard by Brittney’s decision to file for annulment . Despite Brittney’s statement to the contrary, Glory says the two never discussed a split, and this is coming out of nowhere for her. Via TMZ : Glory Johnson says she was “blindsided” by Brittney Griner’s decision to file for an annulment today — telling TMZ Sports she’s “extremely hurt” by Brittney’s actions. We spoke with Johnson’s sports marketing agent, D.J. Fisher, who tells us “Glory was unaware of the filing and still loves and cares for Brittney.” TMZ Sports broke the story … Griner filed the court docs Friday — saying Johnson essentially threatened her into getting married … and claims the whole thing was a fraud. Griner issued a statement saying, “Last Wednesday, Glory and I agreed to either legally separate, get divorced, or annul our marriage. In the week prior to the wedding, I attempted to postpone the wedding several times until I completed counseling, but I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mistake.” But Johnson’s camp says Brittney’s full of crap — saying they NEVER agreed to annul the marriage. Johnson’s rep adds, “Glory loves Brittney and made a huge sacrifice to carry a child, put her career on hold, to invest in their relationship and their future. As a result she won’t be playing this season.” “Glory wouldn’t intentionally do anything to hurt Brittney and has tried her best to protect her and their marriage. Obviously this marriage was about them starting their life together. Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban Says He Would Draft Brittney Griner Via ESPN Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would be willing to give Baylor women’s star Brittney Griner the opportunity to prove she could play in the NBA. Cuban said he would consider selecting Griner, a 6-foot-8 three-time All-American and Big 12 player of the year, in the second round of the NBA draft. If the Mavs don’t draft her, Cuban said he would have “no problem whatsoever” inviting Griner to try out for a spot on Dallas’ summer league team. “If she is the best on the board, I will take her,” Cuban said before the Mavs’ Tuesday night game against the Los Angeles Lakers. “I’ve thought about it. I’ve thought about it already. Would I do it? Right now, I’d lean toward yes, just to see if she can do it. You never know unless you give somebody a chance, and it’s not like the likelihood of any late-50s draft pick has a good chance of making it.” Griner dominated women’s college basketball with her size and athleticism, scoring 3,283 points and blocking 748 shots in her career. She also had 18 dunks, including 11 her senior season. Griner would love the opportunity. “I would hold my own! Lets do it.” she wrote on Twitter on Tuesday night in response to Cuban. A woman trying out for an NBA team is not unprecedented. Former UCLA star Ann Meyers tried out for the Indiana Pacers in 1979. Cuban said it’s difficult to evaluate whether Griner could play in the NBA because of the caliber of her competition, comparing it to scouting players from small schools. However, Cuban said he was absolutely serious about at least extending an invitation for Griner to try out this summer. “She’d still have to make the team,” Cuban said. “I’m not going to carry her just to carry her. I don’t think, anyways. But I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to giving her the opportunity.” Never one to ignore the bottom line of a business venture, when it was mentioned that Brittney’s presence in the league would be very, VERY profitable Cuban added: “It would, wouldn’t it? See how she could do?” Cuban said. “That’d sell out a few games.” Even in a social experiment, money is a still a major issue. Put your money where your mouth is Mark! My name is Brittney and I still cant believe this is real. I have looked up to Justin since late 2009. As soon as I heard about Bieberfever.com I joined. Later I found out that if you were a member, you could enter a contest to meet Justin. I thought there was no way possible I would win. I was wrong. The day of the concert which was July 13th 2010 at 7:21am I received an email saying “Congratulations Justin Bieber fan.” I was FREAKING OUT and nobody believed me. I remember telling my mom and she couldn’t believe it. I was really hoping it wasn’t a joke and I couldn’t wait for it to be time to leave to go to the concert. Once we got there we were waiting in the M&G line waiting for someone to come get us. After hours of waiting someone came and got us and I was shaking. My mom got to meet him too which was really cool . We then had to wait in a long line once we got inside. We say Kenny and then Justin! Once it was our turn I didn’t know what to do. I really thought I was dreaming. I WAS MEETING JUSTIN BIEBER. I walked in and stood next to him on his left and he didn’t say anything but it was okay because I know I would have stuttered. I gave the present that I got him to Kenny who was really nice. After the picture was over I couldn’t stop thinking about meeting him but I still had the concert to look forward to! At the time I was 14 and he was 16. A few months later for my 15th birthday I was surprised by my grandparents and they flew me to California (Ontario) to see him perform again. WHAT!? Now this was really insane. I couldn’t contain my excitement. After two months of waiting for October 24th to arrive I was preparing myself to not be able to meet him again, I didn’t want to get my hopes up. Then the morning of the concert I kept refreshing my email hoping for an email that I won. It wasn’t coming and then IT CAME! I won again and I was getting to meet JUSTIN AGAIN!! I still thought it wasn’t going to happen but I started freaking out even more and started telling everyone and everyone was in TOTAL SHOCK. My grandma was going with me and she was excited to meet him to and was telling all of her friends. I wanted to make sure we weren’t late so we arrived at the venue at 1:00 and the M&G wasn’t until 5:00. We were the second people to get there and we saw Justin’s bus pulled in and kind of stalked him. My grandma was driving and I pushed her knee down to drive faster (which probably wasn’t a good idea) but we got really close and I saw Kenny! His bus pulled into where I couldn’t go so we got out and went to wait in line for the M&G. IT WAS TIME TO GO IN! We met a couple people in the line and decided we would be in the same picture. Me on his left and another girl on his right. The first time I didn’t really stand close to him, then the second time I put my arm around him. Once I did that I was like shaking and couldn’t believe I actually put my arm around him. We walked in the room and he said “Hey guys, how are you doing?” Of course I said “jwubribfrgv” my words weren’t coming out right. HAHA! At least I can laugh about it now. I really wanted to ask him for a hug but I chickened out. We took our picture and left. I didn’t think I was going to be nervous meeting him a second time but I was. Then I heard him announce his BELIEVE tour and I was really hoping he was coming back to Washington. Then I saw: Tacoma Washington, October 9th 2012. AHHHHH. My idol was coming back! I thought I would try my luck again and enter the bieberfever.com contest. The day before the concert I was sitting in class and got the email. I was totally flipping out and had leave class and call everyone and tell them. Everyone thought I was dying I was freaking out so much! I am so blessed to have gotten this opportunity once, let alone 3 times. The third time was the best experience for me. I was with my friends and I hugged him this time! Best 5 seconds of my life! The funny thing is the first time I met him we were the same height, then he was a little taller, and now he is towering over me.
