The last time Karen Allen was onscreen, according to IMDB.com, was back in 2010 in White Irish Drinkers , and, if like me, you miss her soulful presence at the cineplex, it’s time to start planning a trip to New York City in October. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long announced on Monday that Allen will star in the American premiere of Norwegian playwright Jon Fosse’s Summer Day this fall. Sarah Cameron Sunde will translate and direct the play. In its announcement, Rattlestick described Fosse’s play as a “deep meditation on the nature of loss” that is set in two time periods in the same idyllic house. According to the theater company, “a visit to an old friend sparks the memory of a similar visit years earlier.” Allen, who stole hearts and scenes with her wide-eyed performances in Animal House and Raiders of the Lost Ark made her Broadway debut in the early 1980s where she played Helen Keller in William Gibson’s Monday After The Miracle . Katie Holmes has lined up her first acting gig PTC. Post Tom Cruise . According to The New York Times , the actress will take on a role in a Broadway production of Dead Accounts , coming on board the play as a woman residing with her parents in Cincinnati and trying to get her life together. The comedy is penned by Smash creator Theresa Rebeck and stars a total of five characters. No word on the other actors yet. Holmes, who also appeared on Broadway in 2008, is expected to make her Great White Way return some time this fall. While she’s advancing her professional life, new reports claim Katie’s ex is working on his personal life; i.e. finding a new soulmate. You may be up, Yolanda Pecoraro !
Do you know what to-day iisss… Carmelo And LaLa Anthony Celebrate Their 2 Year Wedding Anniversary Reality television star and TV personality LaLa Anthony and her baller-boo hubby Carmelo Anthony celebrated two years of blissful matrimonydom earlier this week with a romantic helicopter ride and some much needed alone time. LaLa took to her blog to publicly express her love for her boo-thang, as well as offer up some advice on how she and Melo plan to continue to keep things on and poppin for the long haul. Carmelo and I just celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary, but this summer it will be nine years that we’ve been together. One thing I get asked all the time is, How do you do it? How do you keep your relationship fresh and fun and going strong after nine years? Well I can’t claim to be an expert, but Melo and I do have a couple tips that have kept our relationship strong over the past decade, and I’m more than happy to share them with you. Number 1 is communication. Communication is key. As long as you’re open and honest with each other, you’ll be able to work through your problems together. Number 2 is don’t overcrowd your significant other. Allow each other to have space and do your own thing, and then the time you spend together will be even more precious. 9 years might seem like a long time, but it’s only the beginning. ‘It was pretty surreal jamming out with Tom singing ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn,’ ‘ Diego Boneta tells MTV News of their joint guitar lessons. Pictures For his breakout role in the movie adaptation of the Broadway hit ” Rock of Ages ,” Diego Boneta could not have asked for a bigger — or better — co-star than Hollywood vet Tom Cruise . “He’s the hardest-working guy we’ve ever met in our lives,” Boneta said, speaking for himself and co-star Julianne Hough. “He’s so humble. I think that combination is something that really stuck with me. This is my first movie; this is Tom’s, like, 50th movie. That is a rare and very special combination.” In the film, Boneta plays aspiring musician Drew Boley, a barback at the Sunset Strip’s Bourbon Room, where Cruise’s rock god Stacee Jaxx is set to perform his band’s final show before embarking on a solo career. The role took months of preparation for the 21-year-old and his seasoned co-star, and despite their varied experience in the industry, both had to start at the beginning when it came to mastering the fundamentals of rock and roll. “Tom and I were taking guitar classes together because we both had to learn how to play guitar, and it was pretty surreal jamming out with Tom singing ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn,’ ” Boneta recalled. “He was playing the solo, and I was playing all the chords and stuff.” Though this is Boneta’s first film role, he may be familiar to TV audiences from appearances on teen favorites “90210” and “Pretty Little Liars.” Next up, the actor will star in the new MTV series “Underemployed.” “Rock of Ages,” which also stars Russell Brand, Malin Akerman and Catherine Zeta-Jones, hits theaters June 15. Jonas Brother and co-star Michael Urie, who end their Broadway run Sunday, tell MTV News the fans ‘say some pretty wild things.’ By Jocelyn Vena Nick Jonas Photo: MTV News Nick Jonas will end his run in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” when the Broadway show closes Sunday. The singer, along with his co-star Michael Urie, will no longer play business rivals on the Great White Way, but do continue to hold fond memories of their time in the show. When MTV News caught up with the actors recently, they recalled some of their favorite fan encounters during their tenure in “How to Succeed.” “The craziest fan encounter? The great thing about the fans is that they are polite during the show,” Jonas said. “At the beginning of the show, they have an opportunity get excited, and then throughout the show, they are very polite.” Everyone’s polite — at least, until Jonas got his smooch on. “Occasionally, they’ll have little outbursts of craziness,” he remembered. “It usually comes for me during the kissing moment during the show. They can say some pretty wild things I can hear out of the corner of my ear. It’s fun.” Urie joked, “I actually stand offstage during the kiss and scream things like, ‘Nick, Nick, oh Nick,’ with about that [deep] inflection.” All joking aside, Urie did have some warm, fuzzy encounters with the show’s fans before every performance. “Before the show, it’s fun to come into the theater every night, because there are people waiting. Sometimes there are people camped out waiting that aren’t even there to see the show,” he said. “They’ve already seen the show or they’re seeing the show in the future, and they’ll be like, ‘Hey Michael, good show.’ And they’re very cool and easygoing.” Both Jonas and Urie joined the show in January. Their run was expected to go until July 1, but they’re closing a bit early. With the show ending Sunday, Jonas will now devote more time to recording a new album with his brothers.
