Starkeema Greenidge, 28, alleges she contracted the virus when a representative of MAC Cosmetics applied a used tube of RiRi Woo to her smackers. “I wasn’t able to work for two weeks. It cost me a lot of money,” Greenidge, a waitress, told the Daily News on Wednesday. She said she slapped MAC with the suit in Manhattan Supreme Court in hopes of forcing the company to be more sanitary in the future. Greenidge also said the company should train its employees to use disposable tubes or swabs to apply the lipstick. Sounds like this woman is about to making it rain RiRi Woo money very soon. Dad Shoots Son Then Himself According to The NY Daily News A Louisiana dad shot dead his teen football star son and stayed with his corpse for several days before killing himself, police believe. Cops found the bodies of Matthew Tarto, 16, and his 52-year-old father Mark in their River Ridge home on Friday. Both died from gunshot wounds to the head. Detectives think Tarto murdered the boy as he slept in his bed before turning the firearm on himself, in his living room, several days later. “This has all the earmarks of an apparent murder-suicide, and the autopsy supports that finding,” said Col. John Fortunato from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. Cops were called to search the home after Tarto’s ex-wife Lisa started to worry about not hearing from her son. The victim, Matthew Tarto, 16, in a photo with his mother, Lisa Tarto. Matthew’s teachers at John Curtis Christian School — where he was backup offensive lineman on the 2012 Class 2A state championship football team — also reported his absence to authorities. They had been unable to contact him for 10 days. Investigations are still ongoing, but it has emerged that the elder Tarto was once alleged to have abused his ex-wife. The Advocate reports that she filed for divorce in 2008 and said he repeatedly accused her of infidelity, interrogated her friends and stayed up all night arguing with her. She said he became “cruel” and “obsessive” and threatened and belittled her in front of their son. She eventually scrapped the proceedings and the couple got back together. But in 2010 he filed for divorce himself where he demanded custody and alimony. The divorce was granted in October 2011 and the couple finalized a custody settlement in January. Man Shot 25 Times By Police According to News One For those who might wonder why a Black honor student would carry a gun, Carlos Ball eloquently explained the dual realities that exist for many Black men and women in this country while speaking with the local CBS affiliate in St. Louis, “The way St. Louis streets work, we’re afraid out here. We’re afraid of the police. We’re afraid of other youth who may want to pull a gun and fire on you. So, sometimes people have guns just to protect themselves, [but] not with the intentions to do a criminal act with it.” Tragically, now Ball has a more personal anecdote to this rationale: His brother, 25-year-old Cary Ball Jr. (pictured far left), was shot and killed by police on April 24th near the Edward Jones Dome. Despite Ball Jr. placing his gun on the ground, police shot him 25 times. St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson says the three officers involved in the shooting are suspended pending an investigation: We’ve invited the family and the witnesses to provide statements to us,” Dotson said, “Some of them have. Some of them haven’t. I encourage anybody who has information, we’re certainly looking into the matter.” Police report Ball had crashed his car after a high-speed chase, ran away on foot, and then pointed a gun at officers and ignored them when they ordered him to drop his weapon. Dotson says they have found no surveillance video from the area that shows what happened. The officers were put on administrative leave pending further investigation. Wednesday marked the second protest at police headquarters. Organizer Zaki Baruti says: “We are making every effort to, first, inform the public as well as mobilize the public to put an end to this kind of police violence. The police ought to be protecting and serving the community but we do have almost like vigilante kinds of officers on the force that need to be removed immediately.” Of that shooting, Carlos Ball said, “They looked at the gun on the ground and fired. He never fired. They never fired, until the gun was nowhere near him.” Baruti noted, “There are several credible witnesses not knowing each other who observed what had taken place.” There will be more demonstrations next week. At the time of his death, Ball was reportedly a Human Services major at Forest Park Community College. The campus newspaper, The Scene, reported Ball said he had a 3.86 grade point average and in the past was honored as an “emerging scholar.” WPOX went on to also reveal that the firm representing the Ball family in a pending suit is “involved in pending litigation against the city, claiming jail guards encouraged inmates to fight each other ‘gladiator style’ for the guard’s amusement.” We hope his family gets some justice.

Man Stages Kidnapping And Kills Teen According to The NY Post A man used a fake Facebook account to lure a teenage girl out of her house in an attempt to stage her kidnapping and rescue so he could look like a hero but ended up killing her, a police affidavit released Wednesday said. Kyle Dube was indicted Wednesday on charges of murder and kidnapping in the death of 15-year-old Nichole Cable, whose body was found in a wooded area of Old Town this month a week after she went missing. Dube, of Orono, had intended to kidnap and hide Nichole and later find her and “be the hero,” the affidavit said. But she died in the back of his pickup truck after he duct-taped her while wearing a ski mask, it said. Dube’s lawyer had wanted the affidavit to stay impounded, citing concerns over his right to a fair trial. The Associated Press and the Portland Press Herald had fought to unseal it. Lawyer Sigmund Schutz, representing the AP and the Portland Press Herald, had argued that the affidavit explaining why the 20-year-old Dube was charged in Nichole’s death should be made public on First Amendment grounds. Defense lawyer Stephen Smith had cited threats against Dube and concerns about the privacy of family members. An innocent girl is dead because he wanted to be a hero. SMH. AP

The 7-year-old died in Busan, South Korea on Wednesday evening after being crushed by her neighbor who’d leapt from his 10th-floor apartment. The 40-year-old man, identified only as Mr. Jang, was declared dead at the scene. His unsuspecting victim was taken to hospital but died shortly after. Dad Fatally Shot In Park According to C And G News What prompted the May 5 fatal shooting of a 24-year-old Clinton Township man was not clear at press time, but what is for sure is that the man was fatally shot in the chest on the basketball court at Clinton Township’s Prince Drewry Park. According to one longtime family friend of the deceased, the alleged shooter and victim believed to be involved in the incident used to be friends. “They were going back and forth about an incident that had occurred last year,” said Yolanda McCoy, a longtime family friend of the decedent’s mother. “They started out as friends.” McCoy, a Roseville resident, said she did not know the specifics of the argument, but said she had known both men as children. Clinton Township investigators allege that Terry Lamont Wilson Jr., 20, of Clinton Township, shot Willie Dion Clark, 24, of Clinton Township, once in the chest around 6:50 p.m. on the park’s basketball court. Prince Drewry Park is located next to Robbie Hall Parker Elementary School on Quinn Road, east of Gratiot. Clinton Township Det. Capt. Richard Maierle said his department and U.S. Marshals Service tracked Wilson down and, with assistance from the Battle Creek police, arrested him around 8:45 p.m. May 8 at a housing complex in Battle Creek, where he was staying with a cousin. Wilson was denied bond during a May 9 arraignment in 41-B District Court, according to the court. A preliminary examination is scheduled for May 22. Two others were arrested for harboring a fugitive, Maierle said. Maierle said police interviews revealed varying accounts as to what ultimately prompted the shooting. But whatever the case, an argument reportedly ensued that evening and Wilson allegedly shot Clark once in the chest before fleeing the scene. After the shooting, Clark’s brothers took him to McLaren Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Maierle said. There were reportedly about 20 to 30 other people in the park at the time, including Clark’s 2-year-old child and two brothers. Clark was one of 10 children, McCoy said. McCoy said the 24-year-old Clark had lived his entire life in the neighborhood surrounding the Quinn Road park, even attending Robbie Hall Parker during his elementary school days, she said. Clark had two children, ages 5 and 2, she added. The evening following the shooting, on May 6, friends and family held a candlelight vigil for Clark at the park. Wayne County Circuit Court records show that Wilson was released from a two-year probation term in July 2012 for a 2010 charge of breaking and entering a vehicle, with damage to the vehicle. Wilson already had one warrant out at the time of the shooting for an alleged probation violation, Maierle said. This is first shooting-related death in Clinton Township since December 2011, when a 23-year-old Highland Park man was lured to an apartment complex and shot in a robbery gone wrong. SMH. 23-Year-Old Man Raped And Tortured To Death According to Raw Story A 23-year-old man has been tortured to death in Russia in an apparent homophobic attack, investigators said Sunday, amid growing fears by rights groups that anti-gay sentiments are on the rise in the country. The victim’s battered and naked body was found in the courtyard of an apartment building in the southern city of Volgograd on Friday morning, said a spokeswoman for regional investigators. The young man had suffered numerous injuries, including to the genitalia, and had been sexually assaulted with several beer bottles. “He was raped with beer bottles and had his skull smashed with a stone,” Natalia Kunitskaya, a spokeswoman for the Volgograd region branch of the Investigative Committee, told AFP. She confirmed the attack was believed to have been a hate crime, in a rare admission from Russian law enforcement agencies on the sensitive issue of homophobia in the country. Two men aged 22 and 27 have been detained in connection with the attack, the Moscow-based Investigative Committee said in a statement on Saturday. One of the suspects has a criminal history, investigators said. The victim was said to have been drinking with the two men, apparently while celebrating Victory Day which Russia marks on May 9. Regional investigator Andrei Gapchenko told Echo of Moscow radio on Saturday that two men started beating the victim after he told them he was gay. The Investigative Committee’s tersely-worded statement said investigators had opened a murder probe, without commenting on possible motives for the killing. Russia decriminalized homosexuality in 1993 and officially removed it from the list of psychiatric disorders in 1999. But homophobia remains widespread and socially acceptable, and almost no public figures have come out as gay. Several Russian regions have outraged rights campaigners by approving local laws banning “gay propaganda” among minors, in legislation which is now being discussed at the federal parliament. President Vladimir Putin, who prides himself on his macho image, has repeatedly denied that Russia was violating gay rights. But he recently warned that Russia could change agreements for the adoption of Russian children with Western countries that are legalising gay marriage, such as France. Nikolai Alexeyev, the head of Gay Russia, a group working to raise the profile of gay rights, expressed concern that the Kremlin’s official rhetoric and recent legislative initiatives could be fuelling intolerance. “Homophobic hysteria is being increasingly promoted in Russia,” he told AFP. Female Enforcer Strangles Woman to Death According to Mail Online It is a murder mystery straight out of Hollywood – a young actress and model strangled to death allegedly by the female enforcer of a shady businessman who has fled the country. This Monday, jury selection will begin in the long awaited murder trial of Kelly Soo Park, 47, who prosecutors in Southern California believe killed Juliana Redding, 21, with her bare hands in March 2008. Prosecutors say that Park worked as ‘muscle’ – described as a James Bond-style figure for Dr. Munir Uwaydah, who sent her to ‘intimidate and threaten’ the aspiring actress at her Santa Monica apartment. Redding, originally from Tucson, Arizona, appeared in low-budget films and also modeled for Maxim magazine and was found beaten to death in her home on March 17th, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney Office records. Building their case, prosecutors claim that Uwaydah dated Redding and was also in the midst of planning a pharmaceutical business with her father, Greg Redding. However, the plans for this fell apart five days before Juliana’s death according to the Los Angeles Times because Redding doubted his business partners legitimacy. While Uwaydah has since left the United States following Redding’s death, he has not been charged in the murder. Prosecutors allege though, that Park and her boyfriend worked as ‘debt collectors’ for the spinal surgeon and California businessman on at least two occasions The doctor referred to Park as ‘James Bond,’ according to court documents – Park currently remains free on $3.5 million bail. According to documents seen by the Los Angeles Times, Park was officially employed as Uwaydah’s real estate broker, but was paid hundreds of thousands of extra dollars to collect debts for him. Court documents show prosecutors allege Park received a $250,000 payment from Uwaydah just weeks before Redding was killed Investigators in the case have said that Park has been linked to the crime by DNA evidence found on Redding’s neck, however, defense attorney’s argue that the real killer is Redding’s boyfriend at the time, John Gilmore. Gilmore was cleared as a suspect in the immediate aftermath of the murder, insisting that he had several people who could offer him an alibi according to CBS News. ‘They’re trying to point the finger at Gilmore, saying he had, at one time, allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend,’ ABC News legal analyst Dana Cole said. The defense alleges that Gilmore’s assault of his fianceé Melissa Ayala casts doubt on the guilt of Park. They allege that Ayala told a defense attorney that Gilmore choked her saying, ‘that he was going to make her feel what Juliana felt. More and more people show their disregard for human life.

Navy Officer Arrested For Pimping Girl According to Raw Story A Navy Petty Officer stationed in Lemoore, California is charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl and forcing her to have sex with multiple men. According to the Fresno Bee, Charles Ray Benavidez, 32, was arrested April 17, but police are coming forward now to solicit help from the public in their investigation. A Porterville Police Department spokesperson told the Bee that Benavidez met the teenager on a social networking site and, knowing that she was underage, traveled to Porterville, California to have sex with her. He made a second visit for similar purposes and on a third, forced the girl to have sex with a second man. Benavidez later transported the girl to his home in Lemoore where she was forced to perform sexual acts with multiple men. Benavidez reportedly filmed and distributed via the Internet. On April 17, a tipster alerted police about the crimes against the girl. Having secured a warrant, Porterville Police teamed up with Lemoore Police, a child sex crime specialist from the Tulare County, California and representatives of the Department of Homeland Security. The multi-agency squad searched Benavidez’ house, then proceeded to his place of work on the Navy Base and arrested him with help from the Navy Criminal Investigative Services. The Bee reported that Benavidez was booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of pimping a minor over 16, possession of child pornography, using a minor for sex acts, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and possession of marijuana for sale, police said. The detectives heading the case are meeting with the California U.S. Attorney’s office to determine whether Benavidez can be charged with sexual trafficking of a child. Meanwhile, forensic investigators are analyzing the video and computer traffic in search other the other men who had sex with the underage girl.
