Beyoncé is taking matters into her own hands with a still-to-be-titled feature-length documentary set for HBO. The premium network will broadcast the singer/actress extraordinaire’s film February 16th, which she shot in part from a laptop. The on and offstage look into the star’s life will span glimpses of her childhood to prepping for performances, running her business empire and life with Jay-Z and the birth of her daughter. “Everybody knows Beyoncé’s music, but few know Beyoncé the person,” HBO programming president Michael Lombardo is quoted via Deadline . “Along with electrifying footage of Beyoncé onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamor to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman.” Beyoncé is also an executive producer on the feature. On October 8th 2012, I was fortunate enough to be able to meet the one and only Justin Bieber! I had bought the tickets for my best friend a while back last year, which included, meet and greet passes, and row 3 seats. My best friend ended up not being able to go with me so I just took one of my little neighbors to go meet Justin with me because she liked him a lot also! After all of the rushing to the Rose Garden and getting thrown back from place to place, we finally ended up at the check in for the meet and greet. We got in line and stood there waiting to meet Justin. While we were waiting, a man came up to us explaining the rules and let us know that Justin was going to be late. We had to have been waiting for at least 45 minutes before the line of people started to move. During those 45 minutes we saw Dan Kanter. He was really nice and talked to everyone and it was super awesome! Then we finally got to the front of the line and we were next to go into the little tent where Justin was. I saw Kenny open up the curtains and call for the next people to come in. When I came in and I saw Justin, I was star struck. It didn’t hit me until then and there that I was actually meeting him. I quickly went over to him and made to sure to get my arm around him as quick as possible, which then he put his arm around my waist. He turned to me and introduced himself, shaking my hand and then shaking my little neighbors hand. While she was in the process of moving to the other side of him, he turned to me and winked, my day couldn’t have gotten any better . We then posed for the picture, said our goodbyes, and we were off. Later during the show, Justin touched my hand three times . It was an amazing concert and I had beyond amazing seats. 3rd row, right by the cat walk, I COULD TOUCH THE STAGE. Basically all I have to say is if you have the chance to go to one of his shows or to go and meet him, jump on the chance. Justin is probably one of the sweetest, most genuine people I have ever met. You can really tell that he’s in this business for the right reasons and that he really DOES LOVE US , he’s not just saying it! A homophobic remark about Rachel Maddow earned Fox anchor Tricia Macke a brief suspension, after which she apologized to the political commentator and the public. Macke, a reporter with Fox 19 Cincinnati, was removed from the air Sunday after calling MSNBC’s Maddow “such an angry young man” in a Facebook post. Maddow is openly gay. After taking heat from some of her followers, Macke only upped the ante, writing, “I am sorry. I should have said antagonistic.” Macke subsequently took down the Facebook posts, but not before GLAAD took a screen shot of them, called the station and demanded that she apologize. “Referring to Maddow as a ‘man’ because she is a gay woman is completely unacceptable for someone in the business of journalism,” stated the gay rights group. After Fox 19 handed Macke a two-day suspension and apologized “to anyone who may have been offended by her comments,” the journalist followed suit. “I recently posted comments on my personal Facebook page regarding cable news anchor Rachel Maddow which were insensitive and inappropriate,” Macke said. “I apologize to Ms. Maddow and any others who may have been offended by my comments, as they do not reflect my firm beliefs in individual and equal rights.” “They certainly do not represent the opinions or position of my employer WXIX-TV.” Macke has since resumed her duties anchoring Fox 19’s 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. news.
