We loved these two as a couple , but now even more so as a married couple: It’s true! Monica and Shannon quietly tied the knot on November 22nd at their home in Los Angeles and only HipHollywood spoke with the singing superstar to get the details. In an exclusive statement, Monica cleared up all the confusion and admitted that indeed, Shannon is her HUSBAND. “This is a very special time in my life. I am blessed to have married the man that God sent me, he’s loving, compassionate, strong and supportive of my children, family and career. I look forward to our lives together.” News of the couples alleged engagement began to spread in mid-october after Monica tweeted a photo of the massive diamond that Shannon put on her finger. Monica and Shannon originally met on the set of her video “Love All Over Me”, and she talked about her man, when HipHollywood spoke with her at the LA stop of her Passion, Pain and Pleasure tour, late last year. The couple still plans to hold a ceremony this summer, when the world will be able to see them exchange vows. They Hate Your Guts

Down in the swampy streets of Washington, Along the river in the noonday sun they meet, And they don’t even feel the heat. They’re bought and paid for like a high class whore Completely rotten to the very core, it’s true, That they don’t ever think of you. They look into your bedroom drawer, They look into your mail, They listen to your telephone calls, And maybe put you into jail, They pour the water down your throat, They beat you' til you squeal, And they be telling all your friends, That none of it is real, I gotta say they really hate your guts, They really laughin’ in your face and you just smile, You're watchin TV all the while, Why can’t you see they really hate your guts? You just a slave inside a pretty colored cell, I thought you’d recognize the smell. They look into your bedroom drawer, They look into your mail, They listen to your telephone calls, And then they put you into jail, They pour the water down your throat, They beat you 'til you squeal, And they be telling all your friends, That none of it is real, Down in the swampy streets of Washington, They do their planning for the businesses they run, And you don’t own a single one, You’re bought and paid for like a rich man’s dog, Maybe you’re happy like a well fed hog, okay, But all your freedom’s yesterday. They hate your guts, you know they hate your guts. added by: Progresshiv

Targeting TARGET

Liberal groups push to exploit Target backlash ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Protesters have been rallying outside Target Corp. or its stores almost daily since the retailer angered gay rights supporters and progressives by giving money to help a conservative Republican gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota. Liberal groups are pushing to make an example of the company, hoping its woes will deter other businesses from putting their corporate funds into elections. A national gay rights group is negotiating with Target officials, demanding that the firm balance the scale by making comparable donations to benefit candidates it favors. Meanwhile, the controversy is threatening to complicate Target's business plans in other urban markets. Several city officials in San Francisco, one of the cities where Target hopes to expand, have begun criticizing the company. “Target is receiving criticism and frustration from their customers because they are doing something wrong, and that should serve absolutely as an example for other companies,” said Ilyse Hogue, director of political advocacy for the liberal group MoveOn.org, which is pressing Target to formally renounce involvement in election campaigns. But conservative organizations are likely to react harshly if Target makes significant concessions to the left-leaning groups. The flap has revealed new implications of a recent Supreme Court ruling that appeared to benefit corporations by clearing the way for them to spend company funds directly in elections. Newsweek Mocks ‘Poor Little CEO’s,’ Attacks Private Sector

The news media love to bash businesses and support regulation, so Newsweek’s mockery of the CEO class and claims that they accomplished nothing between 2001 and 2009 shouldn’t be a surprise. In his July 20 ” Poor Little CEO’s ” story, Newsweek’s Daniel Gross, known for his ” tea bagging ” comments and staunch defense of Obama , derided a July 12 “Jobs for America” summit held by the U.S Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable, and the National Federation of Independent Business. Gross mocked the jobs summit saying it was “a little like BP holding a deepwater-drilling safety summit.” He also blamed corporate America for a “lost decade” that ended with “the deepest recession since the Great Depression.” “Between 2001 and 2009, corporate America designed the playing field to its specifications – easy money from the Federal Reserve; lower taxes on capital gains, dividends, and income; an administration that let industry essentially write its own regulations,” Gross claimed. On the contrary, the Bush administration passed the Sarbanes-Oxley Act which policed mark-to-market accounting with criminal penalties, hardly a regulation “designed” to corporate America’s “specifications.” As for the “lost decade,” the Bush Administration oversaw 52 months of job creation in a decade despite constant media assault. Gross criticized both the Bush and Obama administrations for being “remarkably solicitous” to big business and for their regulatory policies not going far enough: “What’s more, many of the policies recently put in place are quite friendly to big business.” As an example he cited one company, General Electric, ignoring the many other businesses threatened by Obama’s policies. Friendly? A financial reform bill that includes a consumer financial protection bureau and the Volcker Rule is not “friendly.” Additionally, President Obama has hardly been “friendly” to businesses, from forcing the ouster of General Motors’ CEO to his constant anti-business rhetoric .

ABC News Prominently Features ‘Gay-Friendly’ McDonald’s Ad Airing In France

Is ABC News trying to position itself as the go to place for gay rights advocacy amongst the broadcast network websites? Ten days after featuring a video of a gay prom king and queen, the website prominently displayed a gay-themed McDonald’s ad. The video first appeared Monday with the title “McDonald’s Ad You Won’t See in the U.S: A fast-food commercial with a gay-friendly story is only airing in France.”  The website followed this up Tuesday with a piece headlined “Gay Group: Don’t Trust McDonald’s Commercial” (video follows with quotes from article and commentary): A gay business advocacy group is charging McDonald’s with hypocrisy after the global fast food giant aired a gay-themed commercial in France.  “They were looking to portray themselves as an advocate of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community or an ally … when it was completely counter to what their actions here in the U.S. were,” said Justin Nelson, the president and co-founder of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. “It’s completely hypocritical.”   Contrary to some online reports, Nelson said the NGLCC isn’t offended that the commercial won’t be broadcast on U.S. airwaves — it’s frustrated that it was broadcast at all, given McDonald’s recent history with the NGLCC.  For McDonald’s to “continue to distance themselves (from the gay community) here in the states and run an ad like that in another country — it just seemed to be a double standard or double speak,” he said. This, combined with the French commercial, led the chamber to send an angry letter, dated June 3, to McDonald’s vice chairman and CEO James Skinner. The letter dismissed the ad as “blatant geographic pandering” and called on McDonald’s to “show suppport for LGBT people, our families and our businesses — not just where it is politcally expedient, but around the globe.”  What is ABCNews.com telling us with all this gay rights activism?
