Sink Your Teeth Into the Piranha 3DD Cast

We’ve been following the production of the upcoming boobs-n’-bloodbath Piranha 3DD closely here at Skin Central, but the one piece that was missing from our puzzle were the cast members who will be shedding their bikinis -and their limbs (hopefully in that order)- at the Big Wet Water Park . (After early reports that the park would be called Wilderness Waters, the name has been changed to the more, er, evocative Big Wet). Now that filming has begun in Wilmington, North Carolina, production company Dimension Films has released a list of the main hotties that will be battling Piranha 3DD’ s toothy terror. Danielle Panabaker of horror remakes The Crazies (2010) and Friday the 13th (2009) leads the female cast, along with former Miss California, current swimsuit model, and always tasty chocolate drop Meagan Tandy , recently seen in the runaway train thriller Unstoppable (2010). Both of the female stars are nudecomers, and if Piranha 3DD is anything like is predecessor, this could be the dawning of a nude era of boobs, bush and butt for these budding young scream queens. Not yet announced are this film’s equivalent of the cameos from porn stars Gianna Michaels, Ashlynn Brooke and Riley Steele that make Piranha 3D so mamorable. Piranha 3DD splashes into theaters November 23, 2011, but you can read all about (t)it as the nudes break right here on the Mr. Skin blog !

‘Friday’ Singer Rebecca Black Death Threats: Cyber Expert Weighs In

Cyber-security pro says teens are ‘playing crazies online as a way of acting out.’ By Gil Kaufman Rebecca Black Photo: Getty/ Jason LaVeris The Internet has brought stars closer than ever to their fans and opened up an unprecedented two-way path of communication between once-untouchable celebrities and their biggest followers. But it has also opened up a forum that deranged or attention-seeking devotees have begun exploiting as the latest and most serious form of cyber-stalking: anonymous death threats. The latest victim of such attacks is “Friday” sensation Rebecca Black, who ABC News reported has been receiving threats by e-mail and phone ever since her song became a viral sensation. Police in Anaheim, California, have begun an investigation into the actions against 13-year-old Black, and cyber-security expert Parry Aftab told MTV News that it’s important to not take such anonymous threats lightly. “The thing is: They think they can get away with it and that’s because they often do get away with it,” said Aftab, one of the leading experts on cyber-security and cyber-abuse issues. “A death threat is actionable in every state, and when someone like Justin Bieber (his girlfriend Selena Gomez ) or Rebecca Black gets them, they tend to brush them off as someone who is on the Internet and doesn’t matter, but you don’t know the difference between someone wearing Pokemon pajamas and living in their mom’s basement who is harmless and people who are really nutty enough to kill you.” Aftab warned that all the big social networks are now taking enforcement of cyber-stalking very seriously and working with law enforcement to root out the attackers. “These are people looking for attention, with nothing else to do in their lives,” she said. “They’re not mature enough to deal with society and don’t know how to get attention in good ways.” And while they may be empowered by the anonymity of the Internet and they may get the attention they seek by taking on someone with a high profile and millions of fans as a quick way to gain cyber-fame, Aftab warned that these actions are absolutely against both state and federal laws. “If you make a threat of serious bodily harm or a death threat, a true threat, the Supreme Court has ruled that that is not protected by the First Amendment,” she said. And while these actions are often the work of lonely “trolls” who are seeking attention, Aftab said even if some are posted by fellow teens who are jealous, looking for a thrill or just joking around, authorities will take them seriously. “If you’re in an airport and you’re goofing around with your friends in the security line and talk about, ‘He’s got a bomb,’ you are going to go to jail. It might be funny, but there are very clear-cut laws and this is one of them,” she said. “There are many cases where it’s a 15-year-old on the other side and they’re not crazies, but they’re playing crazies online as a way of acting out.” Friends joking around is one thing, but according to federal cyber-stalking laws, if you communicate with someone anonymously and they can’t evaluate how real the threat is and your intent is to annoy or harass, the FBI can investigate it and you can go to jail for two years. In a case like Black’s, where the singer has elicited a lot of negative response from people who are annoyed by her simplistic, insanely catchy song, Aftab chalks the death threats up to a loss of civility and people not knowing how to object to something without resorting to the most extreme words and using the secrecy of the Internet as a screen for their hate or jealously. “They think it doesn’t matter because they’re only words and they’re doing it anonymously on Facebook, but they don’t realize that it’s just as legally actionable as if you went up to [a celebrity] face to face and said, ‘I want to kill you.’ ” As for how victims of such actions can protect themselves, Aftab suggested the victim keep the communication going with the person making the threats, but not respond to them or say they’re going to report them to the authorities. In the meantime, they should contact the local authorities and, she suggested, visit a site like SpectorSoft , which offers what she called the most powerful monitoring software available, which is able to log all incoming and outgoing communications on your computers and some smartphones and trace them so authorities can find out who is behind the harassment and bring charges. “Run silent and run deep, but do not respond,” she counseled. “It only feeds this.” MTV’s ongoing project also provides stories and resources for anyone who believes they are being cyber-bullied or who is looking for ways to stop harassment by digital means. Coming To A Public School Near You: Gay Studies???

Over forty years ago, African Americans demanded public school districts and other educational institutions to reform their curriculum in order to reflect the experiences and histories of folks other than white men. Those opposed to the curriculum change argued that inclusion of the civil rights movement and notable black figures would challenge religious values and politicize the curriculum. Nevertheless, in the years that followed, other ethnic groups and women would follow suit and push schools to revise their curriculum to be more reflective of United States history. These battles over what and whom should be included in public school curricula are far from over; e.g., Texas State Board of Education approves revising textbooks to eliminate the civil rights movement, and Mississippi becomes the first state to implement a civil rights curriculum for grades K through 12. But it appears that public school curricula may undergo an entirely new makeover with the recent news that the state of California is close to becoming the first state to require the teaching of gay history. Prodigy Didn’t Want To Respond To Tupac Dis, N.O.R.E. Says

N.O.R.E. contradicts account of events in Prodigy’s autobiography. By Rob Markman Capone N Noreaga Photo: MTV News The accounts in Prodigy’s newly released book “My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy” (Simon and Schuster) has fellow Queens rapper N.O.R.E. up in arms about P’s recollection of things. On Wednesday, Noreaga spoke to MTV News and questioned why his longtime friend would bring up already-settled street beefs that eventually left two men shot. The “Super Thug” rapper is also refuting Prodigy’s claim that “L.A., L.A.” — a 1996 dis song aimed at Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound and Tupac Shakur — was originally a Mobb Deep track. Noreaga goes on to say that originally, Prodigy wanted no parts of the much-hyped East Coast/ West Coast beef. “Now, is he delusional?” Nore asked. “Have you seen the record ever been [credited as] Mobb Deep featuring Capone-N-Noreaga?” The original “L.A., L.A.” was recorded in 1996, and a remixed version later appeared on Capone-N-Noreaga’s 1997 debut album The War Report. The track was a direct response to Tha Dogg Pound’s “New York, New York” and its video, which famously featured larger-than-life versions of Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and Daz kicking over New York skyscrapers. While N.O.R.E. does admit that Prodigy originally had a verse on the C-N-N song, he says that P had his record label, Loud Records, request to have his verse removed. “Loud called us and said, ‘You have to make sure that Prodigy verse doesn’t exist,’ ” Nore said. “What happened was in between that time ‘Pac dropped [‘Hit ‘Em Up’] and said, ‘Mobb Deep, don’t one of you dudes got sickle-cell.’ ” “L.A., L.A.” provided a notable moment in the mid-’90’s East Coast/ West Coast feud, when rappers from both New York and California hurled disses at each other. The late Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur were the principal players, but rappers like Nas, Jay-Z, Mobb Deep and Snoop Dogg were also called out at one point in the coastal rivalry. In his book, Prodigy criticized Jay-Z for not standing up to ‘Pac’s slander, but Nore contends that originally Prodigy also had some apprehension in involving himself in the war of words. “So, even when he said he was mad at Jay-Z for not representing New York, he’s delusional,” he says. “[‘L.A., L.A.’ wasn’t him; that wasn’t his idea. That was a Capone-N-Noreaga, Tragedy thing.” N.O.R.E. also points out another discrepancy in the autobiography that was released earlier this week. Prodigy claimed that his Mobb Deep counterpart Havoc once punched veteran Queensbridge rapper Tragedy in the face for having an affair with his girlfriend while Nore looked on. “When he says that [Havoc] stepped to Trag and I was there, it was all fabricated,” he says. “All I know from Havoc and Trag’s relationship was that they were cool. So, when I read the book, and he’s actually saying things that he’s heard, maybe from his perspective, but he’s definitely not speaking the truth when it comes to me.” Related Artists Prodigy of Mobb Deep

Tyga Encourages West Coast MCs To Be ‘More Worldly’

Young Money rapper, who was born in California, visits ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Tyga Photo: MTV News This week, MTV is celebrating the “New West” by spotlighting California-bred artists like Odd Future, Nipsey Hussle, Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies and, of course, this week’s “RapFix Live” guest Tyga. Sitting with MTV News’ Sway Calloway, Tyga commented on L.A.’s new sound, remarking that the new crop of Cali spitters fair better when employing a more-universal sound. It’s this attitude that Tyga said has helped rookie West Coast rappers make their mark in a post-gangsta-rap era. “I don’t think it’s that hard to break out of L.A. because there are a lot of new artists out,” he said. While the West Coast was traditionally associated with N.W.A. and Dr. Dre’s signature sound, things have been changing over the past few years. “Back in the day, when you had N.W.A., that was the sound for music, and a lot of L.A. artists sound like they’re from L.A. when they rap and stuff, and a lot of people around the world won’t relate as much,” said Tyga, who is currently signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money label. “Odd Future, for example: [The group’s frontman] Tyler don’t sound like he from L.A., so he can get out to more people and his music can be more worldly because it’s a new sound.” Do you agree with Tyga about L.A.’s sound? Sound off in the comments below! Stick with us all week as MTV News turns the spotlight on the New West, the next wave of hip-hop acts helping to restore faith in the L.A. rap scene. From groups like Odd Future to rising MCs like Dom Kennedy, we’ll bring you up close and personal to these artists as they carve their own lanes in the post-gangsta-rap era. Tyga Visits ‘RapFix Live’ On Wednesday!

Compton-born Young Money MC will join host Sway and take your questions on New West-themed edition of the show on MTV.com. By Alvin Blanco Tyga Photo: Christie Goodwin/ Getty Images Tyga will join us on this Wednesday’s special New West edition of MTV News’ “RapFix Live.” The Young Money rapper will only chat it up with host Sway, but we’ll have an in-depth look at some of the Cali rap acts that are making L.A. a go-to hip-hop destination once again. As always, we’ll also be taking your questions! Last year, the Compton, California, rapper caught an inadvertent hit when his Chris Brown collabo, “Deuces,” from their joint mixtape, Fan of a Fan, burned up the airwaves, landing at #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Tyga and Brown went on to earn a Grammy nomination in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for the song he co-wrote, and he’s now prepping his forthcoming album, Careless World. Before connecting with the YMCMB, Tyga was already making a name for himself on the L.A. rap circuit. In 2008, he dropped his debut single, “Coconut Juice,” which featured his cousin Travie McCoy. Soon Tyga became acquainted with Lil Wayne — the two appeared together on a remix to Fall Out Boy’s “Arms Race” — and signed on with Young Money a year or so later. Tyga cemented his place in the crew by contributing to Young Money’s hits “BedRock” and “Roger That.” Tyga is hoping to prove his patience will pay off as he’s waited in the wings for fellow YMCMB teammates Drake and Nicki Minaj to launch their careers. The first singles from Careless World, “I’m On It,” featuring Lil Wayne, and “Really Raw,” featuring Snoop Dogg and Pharrell, have heads checking for the project’s release. And earlier this year, Tyga revealed a Drake collaboration will be included on it too. We’ve already spotlighted Nipsey Hussle and Casey Veggies and our New West coverage will continue on “RapFix Live” with closer looks at the movements of Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and School Boy Q) and Odd Future. Apart from the insight into the diverse underground rap sounds coming out of L.A., we’ll also be examining its party and dance scene . Find out what else is in store from Tyga and the rest of the YMCB crew when he sits down for his interview on the “RapFix” couch. The “Deuces” rapper will be taking questions from the audience via Twitter, @MTVRapFix with the hashtag #rapfixlive. Fans can also upload video questions for Young Money’s next star via Your.MTV.com . Tune in on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. Stick with us all week as MTV News turns the spotlight on the New West, including a special edition of with Cali’s own Tyga on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. Kanye West Slays Coachella Festival’s Last Night Sunday

‘Ye owns his weekend-ending set with a relentless string of hits. By Mary J. DiMeglio Kanye West performs at Coachella Photo: Flanigan/ FilmMagic INDIO, California — In what is sure to go down as one of the most memorable performances in Coachella history, Kanye West only disappointed anyone who was expecting the controversial MC to phone in his festival-ending set Sunday night. As his troop of tribal dancers got the stage warmed up, West rose on a platform that soared him above the crowd, asking, “Can we get much higher?” ‘Ye took the crowd into his “Dark Fantasy,” in a song that shouts out other 2011 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival acts Nas and Kings of Leon. He then urged, “Everybody do the ‘Power’ clap” and sent fireworks into air. The jams continued relentlessly with “Jesus Walks” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” a song from 2007’s Graduation that had a recent surge in popularity when it was featured in “The Hangover.” Nicki Minaj fans were no doubt hoping she’d come out to spit her “Monster” verse, but her Twitter followers were informed that the femcee was in Arizona over the weekend. West’s relentless stream of popular tracks, including “Flashing Lights” and “Touch the Sky,” kept the captivated masses from leaving to explore what other late-night options were in the festival’s tents. And even after “All Falls Down” and “Gold Digger,” ‘Ye wasn’t lying when he promised, “The hits ain’t over yet. We just keep goin’ and goin’. ” “All of the Lights” and “Stronger” followed, and as midnight rolled around, the crowd, desperate for more, was relieved when the screen announced “Act 3” was still to come. When ‘Ye returned, it was in his red suit for the “Runaway” anthem. After such an emotional performance, whatever he had left in his heart poured out with “Hey Mama,” during which he declared, “This show is dedicated to you, Mama.” ‘Ye and his dancers then lined the stage and held hands for a triumphant bow. Earlier, the Strokes packed the main stage, tearing through “Under Cover of Darkness,” “New York City Cops” and “Someday,” in front of lights so bright singer Julian Casablancas joked, “Can you make it brighter in here?” making sure to clarify, “That was sarcasm.” Duran Duran, who said, “We have been looking forward to this moment for weeks and weeks,” played everything their fans desired. The set, beginning with “Planet Earth,” also featured “A View to a Kill,” “Girls on Film” and, of course, “Hungry Like the Wolf.” Scissor Sisters vocalist Ana Matronic, whose band closed out the Mojave tent Saturday night, joined the ’80s icons onstage. In the afternoon, Nas and Damien Marley joined forces, playing both their solo hits and cuts from their collaborative album, Distant Relatives . “Are there any Bob Marley fans out there?” they asked before closing with “Could You Be Loved.” Wrapping up the Sahara tent, Steve Angello easily coaxed out any remaining dance energy. And, in front of her adoring fans gathered at the Outdoor stage, PJ Harvey presented mostly new material from Let England Shake . Her Coachella debut was greeted with a sign in the crowd reading, “PJ Harvey is the real closing headliner.” She tapped into her earlier albums for “The Sky Lit Up” and her 1995 breakthrough hit, “Down by the Water.” Also Sunday, Best Coast took advantage of the remaining daylight to sing the sun off with their sweet soaring vocals; Chromeo had the crowd getting down to their synthed-up funk; and Health brought their frenetic energy to the Mojave tent.
