Slash Files For Divorce

Ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist has two boys with his wife of nine years, Perla Ferrar. By MTV News staff Perla Ferrar and Slash Photo: Chelsea Lauren/ Getty Images Slash has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly nine years, according to TMZ . In documents filed Monday (August 30) in Los Angeles Superior Court, Slash (real name: Saul Hudson) cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for his split with wife Perla Ferrar. The couple, who were married in October 2001, have two boys, age 6 and 8, and Slash is asking for joint physical and legal custody. TMZ reports that, according to the documents, Slash listed the date of separation as July 15, 2010, and is willing to pay Ferrar spousal support. But, the site adds, sources close to the couple say “the breakup is extremely acrimonious.” The couple also reportedly did not sign a prenuptial agreement. Messages left with Slash’s attorney, Laura Wasser — who has handled dissolutions for a list of high-profile clients, like Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Kiefer Sutherland — seeking comment were not returned by press time. E-mails to Slash’s rep were also unanswered. In March, Slash released his first proper solo album , which featured appearances from three of the members of Appetite for Destruction -era Guns N’ Roses (Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler), in addition to cameos by Fergie, Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Cornell, Lemmy and Dave Grohl. The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard albums chart , selling more than 60,000 copies. This past weekend, he was honored at the third-annual Sunset Strip Music Festival in West Hollywood, California, where he also performed. Related Videos MTV Rough Cut: ‘Takers’

2AM Club Hooked Up With Kanye West Producer No ID For Debut Album

L.A. band is set to release What Did You Think Was Going To Happen? in September. By Jocelyn Vena This September, L.A. outfit 2 AM Club will release their debut studio album, What Did You Think Was Going To Happen? and for it, the guys hit the studio with a number of top-grade producers including former Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison and hip-hop producer No ID , who they say helped shape one “ridiculous” track for their album. “The beginning of the No ID collaboration is he had a track [and] we did our album with an A&R guy named Peter Edge, who worked with Alicia keys and D’Angelo and has done a bunch of amazing records over the last few years,” 2 AM-er Tyler Cordy explained to MTV News. “And we just heard it one day and it was ridiculous. And it always had been there.” So, after thinking it over, the guys decided to revisit the song for the album. “And we heard it and we kind of went back months later and [were like], ‘What happened to the No ID beat?’ … So we got in the studio and hashed out this song, ‘Make You Mine.’ The track turned out ridiculous.” The guys not only hooked up with the hip-hop producer for the track, they also left sunny California to record the album in very chilly New York City. It was a refreshing change. “We had a bunch of demos written when we were leaving L.A. And then, hooking up with our team, they extended the hand [to come to NYC],” Cordy explained. “We never really lived on the East Coast, and we wrote in Brooklyn and spent a number of cold, cold winter months [there]. It gave the record two different angles.” Bandmate Marc Griffin explained that this album means the world to the group. “We’ve been writing it our whole lives,” he said. “It’s about love and heartbreak and nighttime and leaving home.” Related Artists 2AM Club No ID Kanye West

Asher Roth, Kendra Wilkinson, Kelly Osbourne Look Back, On ‘When I Was 17’

The stars reminisce about tattoos, cemetery scares and singing careers. By Dan Schenek Asher Roth appears on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV News When Asher Roth was 17, he remembered being a car-less “white boy wannabe.” The lively artist developed a fan base while attending college with the help of social-networking websites, and arrived on the mainstream hip-hop scene with a slew of mixtapes. Almost overnight, he found himself with a record deal and a full studio album, Asleep in the Bread Aisle. “In high school, I ended up finding my home with kids who had one common interest, and that’s hip-hop music,” Roth said on the latest episode of “When I Was 17,” which premiered Saturday at 11 a.m. “We’d be carrying boom boxes around in our book bags like we were straight out of the ’80s,” Roth’s friend Brian recalled. “We started meeting regularly around school.” Before hanging with Hef, former “Girl Next Door” Kendra Wilkinson remembers eyeing her high school soccer coach. “Soccer was my love,” the California girl said. “I had a huge crush on my soccer coach. He was like the hottest thing to ever exist … I would totally flirt with him. I would wear shorter shorts than the other girls on purpose.” Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt said Wilkinson would act like she didn’t know what she was doing on the soccer field to get more attention from the studly coach. “I loved just having my soccer coach just yelling at me. It turned me on,” Wilkinson said. Kendra also reminisces about how she was freaked out when seeing windmills turning with no wind and hearing a crying baby at a cemetery. On the show, MTV reality-show vet Kelly Osbourne also looks back at her time in an American school and her first tattoo experience. “For me, it’s really the idea of having a tattoo than actually having it because once you have it, you’re like, ‘alright, ugly.’ Kelly’s first impressions of the American school system were also unique. “In England, I just went to school,” she said. “In America, I had to figure out if I was a jock, a nerd, a cheerleader — there are social groups for everything.” “When I Was 17” airs Saturdays at 11 a.m. on MTV.
