Clear the roads, California residents. Kylie Jenner is now 16 years old! The reality star and part-time model celebrates that major occasion today, likely by spending time with boyfriend Jaden Smith, but definitely NOT by being in front of the camera very much. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians actress can be surprisingly shy . Expect plenty of birthday wishes to be sent Kylie’s way today, with Kim Kardashian possibly even breaking her post-baby run of silence and sending out a message on Facebook. Or having her assistant to it at least. So along those lines, allow us to join in the chorus: Happy birthday, Kylie Jenner!
Kids Jeopardy contestant Thomas Hurley III was robbed last week by a barely-noticeable spelling error on Final Jeopardy – and he’s not happy about it. The 12-year-old misspelled the correct “Emancipation Proclamation” during the episode-ending round, and it did not count, outraging many viewers. Jeopardy Contestant: Cheated Over Misspelling? NOTE: Winner Skyler Hornback bet big and got the answer right, so even with the right spelling, Hurley wouldn’t have walked away with the first prize. Still he tells the Danbury (Conn.) News-Times , “I was pretty upset that I was cheated out of the final ‘Jeopardy!’ question. It was just a spelling error.” The Final Jeopardy question, phrased in the form of an answer: “Abraham Lincoln called this document, which took effect in 1863, ‘a fit and necessary war measure.'” Hurley included an extra “t” and his response was deemed invalid. “It generated a little bit of controversy,” Hurley’s mom Suzanne admitted. “He was a little stunned by it. He felt embarrassed. It was hard to watch.” The paper said the show lost Hurley as a fan, though he was proud to get a chance to go to California and play, winning a $2,000 consolation prize. His family and friends are “proud of me,” he said, but added, “It’s just upsetting to have lost that way. I don’t know why it would have counted as the wrong answer.” Producers told THR via email: “If ‘Jeopardy!’ were to give credit for an incorrect response (however minor), the show would effectively penalize the other players.” The show added, “We love presenting young people as contestants on our show and make every effort to be fair and consistent in their treatment.”
We know Dwight is the silly type, but is he an irresponsible parent too?? Royce Reed Says Dwight Howard Has Taken Their Son Without Telling Her Where They Are According to TMZ reports : “Basketball Wives” star Royce Reed claims Dwight Howard took off with their son and won’t tell her where he is … a perilous problem because the tyke doesn’t have his meds. Royce went to court asking for an emergency hearing … claiming their 6-year-old son Braylon went to California to visit Dwight, and that’s the last she heard from her baby daddy or the boy. Dwight’s parents eventually called her to say the kid was in Colorado. Royce says her son needs his meds for an undisclosed medical condition and the Rx bottle is now empty — Dwight never bothered to get it refilled. She says without the meds, their son’s health is in danger. Royce doesn’t have a problem with Dwight taking care of the boy for a while, but she wants the judge to order him to refill the prescription and give Braylon his meds. She also wants to know exactly where her boy is and how she can get in touch. A hearing date has not been set. For Braylon’s sake we hope that D-Ho really does have the medicine that he needs. That said, what kind of parent has a sick child and fails to make sure that they have their meds?? SMH Image via WENN
Another priest chopping down children. SMH. Priest Molests Teenage Girl According to The NY Daily News Not all Catholic priests who abuse minors escape justice. A California superior court judge sentenced Father Uriel Ojeda, 33, to eight years in state prison on Friday for molesting a teenage girl multiple times. “My actions were those of a weak and sinful man,” Ojeda said in court. Ojeda pleaded no contest to sneaking into the young girl’s bedroom at her parents’ Sacramento home on the night he was ordained and climbing into bed with her as she slept. “You traumatized me,” the girl told him in a letter that was read in court by Deputy District Attorney Allison Dunham. “And you thought I would never tell anyone, didn’t you? But you thought wrong.” According to the girl’s parents, Ojeda molested their daughter on 10 occasions, and the crimes took place between June 29, 2007, and June 30, 2009, the Sacramento Bee reported. “I have committed a crime and a serious sin,” Ojeda told the judge as a group of roughly 30 of the well-liked priest’s supporters watched in stunned silence. “I would like to ask everybody for forgiveness and that they do find mercy for me.” The Vatican announced that it has begun the process of defrocking Ojeda, who wore an orange prison jumpsuit in court. “I’d like to, as a final act as priest, to apologize to all priests who serve faithfully before God, for bringing shame to the priesthood,” Ojeda said. Evil doesn’t discriminate. Nasty azz. Continue reading →

Lindsey Vonn is making headlines at the British Open in Scotland, but not because of her famous boyfriend, world #1 golfer Tiger Woods. Just for #Dufnering. Vonn posted this photo on Instagram showing herself, Fred Couples’ girlfriend Nadine Moze and PGA pro Jason Dufner relaxing in his signature pose: The Dufnering phenomenon, in case you missed it, began in March, when a photo of the golfer slouched in a classroom during a charity trip emerged. Check out the original picture below, via a Tweet by Keegan Bradley (also a PGA pro), who gave his friend Dufner a well-deserved ribbing over it:
Stephen “Stippo” Rakes, a possible witness in the murder trial of alleged crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger, has been found dead, reports indicate. The body of Rakes, 59, showed “no obvious signs of trauma” and an autopsy is being done to determine the cause of death, officials said. The corpse was found yesterday at 1:30 p.m., police said. Rakes had been eager to testify that Bulger threatened his family at gunpoint and forced him to turn his liquor store into a front for the Winter Hill Gang. But earlier this week, prosecutors informed Rakes he would not be called to testify, a decision that left him “despondent,” a source close to his family said. The judge overseeing the Whitey Bulger trial hunkered down with lawyers in a confidential conference at the courthouse today where the trial is being held. Bulger, 84, alleged to be a notorious and murderous crime boss and federal informant, is standing trial after being found on the lam in California in 2011. Rakes was to testify that Bulger and Stephen Flemmi threatened his daughter at gunpoint, and took over his South Boston liquor store for Bulger’s headquarters. However, Bulger sidekick Kevin Weeks testified last week that Rakes’ contention that Bulger’s gang put a gun to his daughter’s head was bogus. News of his death investigation came on the same day that Stephen “The Rifleman” Flemmi was slated to take the stand against Bulger as well. The two men ran the Winter Hill Gang for decades while also working as informants for the FBI, according to prosecutors and courtroom testimony. Police told the Rakes family the death appeared to be a suicide. However, a source close to the Rakes family told ABC News early Thursday that “he had no phone, no wallet, and police are still looking for his car.” The body was positively identified as Rakes this morning. Rakes’ longtime friend Steve Davis, whose sister Debbie was allegedly murdered by Bulger, had met him for breakfast daily before court. Davis said he last saw Rakes Tuesday in court but then couldn’t reach him all night Tuesday and yesterday he did not meet him in the courthouse. “Stippo would not kill himself. Absolutely not,” Davis told ABC News. “He was looking forward to taking the stand. He told me over and over he had a big bombshell to drop. “He had everything to live for and was looking forward to his day in court.” Davis – who lost his sister, brother and father to homicide, and whose daughter was killed in a drunk driver accident – was devastated by the news. “It doesn’t make sense,” Davis said.
