Pete Wentz-Ashlee Simpson Custody Fight Heats Up

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson shocked the masses when they split. Taking things a step further, the once-amicable divorce process is turning ugly. Pete does NOT want his soon-to-be-ex to have primary custody of son Bronx. He’s now taking her to court as a result. Wentz just filed legal papers in response to Ashlee’s divorce petition … asking the judge for JOINT custody. Ashlee had checked the box that indicated she wanted primary physical custody of Bronx Mowgli, 2, who was born shortly after the couple got married . Wentz also wants each party to pay their own legal fees, even though Ashlee had asked the court to make Pete foot the bill for both parties. Ashlee didn’t specify the official break-up date, but Pete says the two called it quits February 9, right after Pete’s wife-less Super Bowl Trip. Pete’s constant touring is believed to be the reason for the breakup.

Although we reported this earlier in the month…sources are still talking about this Matt Kemp and Rihanna break-up: Time for Rihanna to pen a new break-up ballad: After almost a year together, she and Matt Kemp have called it quits, an insider close to the singer tells UsMagazine.com. “It happened over the last few weeks,” explains the source. “She basically was just over it.” A rep for Rihanna (she’s currently vacationing with family in her native Barbados) could not be reached for comment. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kemp, 26, helped Rihanna, 22, move on from Chris Brown, who infamously assaulted her in February 2009. The duo were first spotted frolicking together in Cabo San Lucas last January, and slowly opened up about their romance in the spring. But the “Only Girl” singer has been “so busy,” the insider says. “He just can’t keep up with her crazy travel schedule.” “Matt’s sick of always following after her like a puppy dog all over the world. He wants something more normal,” the source adds. Plus, the insider says, “It was never as serious as it looked. It was always just [about] having fun.” Stilll, back in May, Kemp gushed about his love: “She’s just a fun person. I love to be around her.” In June, Rihanna similarly said of Kemp: “I’m so happy. Despite swirling online rumors that the socialite and her ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt filmed a sex tape, a rep for the former “Hills” star insisted it’s just not true. Speaking with TMZ , Reinhardt’s rep Amanda Ruisi said, “Doug says a sex tape with Paris and him doesn’t exist and never existed.” Reinhardt and Hilton began dating in early 2009 and had even contemplated marriage during their six-month relationship. In an interview with People magazine , the blonde bombshell appeared happy with her then-boyfriend. “He makes me feel like I’ve never felt before,” she told the mag. “Everything he does is romantic. He’s amazing, and we’re really happy. He’s beautiful, he’s smart, he’s well-educated, and he treats me like a princess. We’re just very much alike.” In June of ’09, the couple called it quits. And while the duo reunited for multiple reconciliations, they eventually ended things for good. Rumors later surfaced that Hilton believed the “Hills” star was using her for her celebrity status. The alleged sex tape isn’t the only ordeal the 29-year-old heiress has faced in the past year. In July, Hilton was detained in South Africa during the World Cup on suspicion of marijuana possession. Just a month later, the reality-TV starlet was arrested in Las Vegas on charges of cocaine possession.
