Vanguard Update: Adam celebrates Holi in India

It’s great to be back out on the field. My latest adventure/assignment brings me to India, where I am right now. As soon as I landed yesterday, we headed straight over to a neighborhood where people were celebrating Holi, one of the biggest holidays here in India. The celebrations consist of people dancing in the streets, throwing paint powder on one another. As soon as these guys saw us, and our cameras, we were instantly targeted. Read more here about India's water crisis and how it impacted even this celebration, and learn more about Holi here. Larry Birkhead: The Latest Cry for Attention

This is how a real pimp rolls. Once the cameras grow weary of your attempts to remain in the news by thrusting your daughter in the spotlight , you must adjust. How does a dedicated, shameless attention-getter change things up? By exploiting his deceased child’s mother, right, Larry Birkhead? The former lover of Anna Nicole Smith was spotted out in attire that bears her face this week. Larry Birkhead : Anne Nicole Smith t-shirts, and dignity, for sale! [Photos: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com] A former celebrity gossip photographer, Birkhead knows what sells. That’s why he’s seen here in a shirt that honors Anna Nicole Smith in the most appropriate way possible: by milking her likeness for fame and fortune. It’s really not a question of how much Birkhead made for posing with this top on. It’s a question of how he sleeps at night.

Embedded Tour Stop with Black Lips

We join Black Lips, the bad boys of Atlanta garage rock whose wild shows in India led to the band fleeing the country to avoid arrest. In Southern California, they storm a skate park, sign CDs and perform at an independent record store, and revel in exploiting their big celebrity endorsement: appearing on a soda cup at Wahoo Fish Tacos. The band performs “Bad Kids,” “I'll Be With You” and “Short Fuse” off their album “Good Bad Not Evil.” At every Tour Stop, we follow road-weary musicians as they break free from the confines of buses, hotel rooms and stages. Come along with us on the band's day off. Current Music Presents: Embedded puts you on the ground and behind the scenes with unrivaled access to your favorite musicians. We've traveled the world, going beyond performances to bring you the most intimate and unfiltered moments in artists' lives. When others stop the cameras, we capture the real story of today's top musicians. Watch more at http://current.com/tourstop and http://current.com/embedded . added by: mfarley
