‘Thor’ Deleted Ending: Jane Sent Thor A Beacon Of Love

You’ve probably been wondering just how Thor (Chris Hemsworth) made his way back to Earth in The Avengers after being separated from his lady scientist girlfriend Jane Foster ( Natalie Portman ) at the end of 2011’s Thor . A newly released deleted scene from the ending to Thor reveals that Jane was at least trying to re-establish connection, sending a beacon skyward to help her man find his way back to her. Ugh, men. ) The deleted scene debut from Marvel teases the April 2, 2013 release of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Box Set – “Phase One” which includes Blu-rays of Iron Man , Iron Man 2 , and The Incredible Hulk as well as 3-D Blu-rays of The Avengers , Captain America: The First Avenger , and Thor . Meanwhile, Portman’s running around the set of sequel Thor: The Dark World with mystery gadgets and Wellies, so we’ll see Thor and Jane reunite soon enough. [ Marvel ]

Why Porn Star Sunny Leone’s Bollywood Debut Fizzled At The Box Office…

Adult actress/filmmaker/reality TV personality Sunny Leone was poised to make a big splash in her non-porny Bollywood acting debut, an erotic thriller that by all accounts had everything: Cleavage-baring love scenes, Bollywood musical interludes, a convoluted plot about a porn star asked to go undercover to lure her insane assassin-ex to the authorities. But on top of its racy material enraging some audiences in India, director Pooja Bhatt’s picture had something else working against it, even moreso stateside: Dudes, it’s called Jism 2 . Bhatt’s erotic thriller, a follow-up in name to 2003’s Jism (the word means “body” in Hindi… and something entirely different in the parlance of our times), did decent business in India last week despite lukewarm reviews. In its second week, however, Jism 2 suffered a steep drop off , but in America, where media companies like Apple reportedly balked at the title , it was a nonstarter. Maybe Leone’s fanbase opted out (save those who tuned in to Jism 2 , y’know, just for the acting). I’m guessing the limited opportunities to plaster the words “JISM 2!” on billboards and bus stops across America didn’t help, either. Or, as reviews revealed, it simply wasn’t worth getting worked up about. “The most controversial Hindi film of the year is also the worst,” blared The Hollywood Reporter in its review. Another critic at Bollywood Hungama perhaps put it best: “Sunny Leone in the driver’s seat, coupled with a generous dose of skin show and erotica, besides an attention-grabbing title, should act as a honey-trap to lure the audiences. But how one wishes this jism had soul as well!” [ THR , Yahoo India , Bollywood Hungama ]

‘Avengers’ Sunk ‘Battleship,’ Director Peter Berg Says

‘What I need everyone to do is go see ‘Battleship’ now that they’ve seen ‘Avengers’ five times,’ Berg tells MTV News of sequel chances. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Kelly Marino Taylor Kitsch in “Battleship” Photo: If there’s one thing you can count on Earth’s mightiest heroes to accomplish, it’s kicking alien ass. Iron Man, Captain America and the rest of the gang didn’t just destroy the extraterrestrial threat in their movie, either — they also sunk the aliens of “Battleship” without even knowing it. “Battleship” director Peter Berg spoke with MTV News recently about his thoughts on the box-office earnings of his latest big-budget blockbuster. The Hasbro adaptation has earned $235 million overseas, but only $63 million at the domestic box office — an outcome Berg pins on the outstanding success of “Marvel’s The Avengers.” “The movie kicked butt internationally, but we kind of ran into a wall when ‘Avengers’ refused to go away,” he told MTV News. ” ‘The Avengers’ outperformed everything. It was impossible for ‘Battleship’ to get any oxygen.” Asked if he would do anything differently with the “Battleship” release knowing what he knows now, Berg had one idea in mind. “I would have loved to have come out three weeks before ‘The Avengers’ domestically, like we did internationally,” he said. “We did OK, but in hindsight — which my grandmother used to say is worth about a bucket of spit — we would have [released the movie] ahead of ‘The Avengers,’ not realizing it would have become, I think, the second biggest film in history behind ‘Avatar.’ ” “Avengers” is actually the third-highest-grossing film of all time behind “Titanic,” but who’s counting? Berg is. When asked if he’d be interested in filming a “Battleship” sequel, he had a numbers-oriented answer in mind. “What I need everyone to do is go see ‘Battleship’ now that they’ve seen ‘Avengers’ five times. If they do that, we can definitely make a sequel,” he said. ” ‘Battleship’ is a film that I would definitely like to do a sequel to. I loved making that film. I had a great time with it.” Do you want to see a “Battleship” sequel? Tell us in the comments below! Related Videos MTV Rough Cut: ‘Battleship’ MTV First: Battleship Related Photos ‘Battleship’
