Jeremy Vuolo is not like the other Duggar husbands. For one thing, he had a job before being welcomed aboard the Duggar gravy train, and it he’s continued to work in the years since he and Jinger tied the knot. On top of that, Jeremy is a bit — pardon the use of a phrase that would certainly not earn the Duggar stamp of approval — ballsier than the other men who married into the Counting On clan. Whether it’s patriarch Jim Bob or the legions of trolls that love to hurl invective at everything the Duggar women post, Jeremy is not one to back down from a conflict. And today he proved his willingness to class with the haters after posting this pic on Instagram: “Afternoon in the garden,” Jeremy captioned the image. A cute pic — or at the very least a harmless one — but fans took issue with it because of Felicity’s head wrap , which has weirdly been a topic of considerable debate in recent weeks. One rapier wit who goes by the name thefoode_doode had this to say: “What you got a doughnut wrapped around that kids head??” “No but it’d be remarkably convenient if it was,” Jeremy promptly replied. Yes, within minutes, Jeremy not only clapped back, he clapped back with a joke. As In Touch Weekly points out, fans were quick to praise Jeremy’s snappy response. “Love the reply back. Precious little girl!” one wrote . It’s a refreshing change of pace from the usual Duggar dourness. This guy is so far removed from the family he married into that he’s practically the anti-Duggar. Okay, so that’s more than a bit of an exaggeration. Jeremy is still a far-right evangelical who believes that everything from everything from alcohol to dancing to premium cable TV is the work of the devil. But it’s not hard to see why the most rebellious Duggar was so drawn to him. The Duggars are generally counseled by their parents to refrain from engaging in any sort of conflict. And with few exceptions, they abide by this unwritten rule. But clearly, Jeremy isn’t happy with that approach. Here’s an unexpected blast-from-the-past feud that’s sure to delight all you ’90s kids. Or it’s a very serious matter that speaks to the delicate issues of these divisive times. This is kind of a “choose your own adventure” story in that way. Natalie Portman and Jessica Simpson are still A-listers, but in 1999, they were two of the biggest names on the planet. And it seems that their careers and public images were headed in divergent directions even way back then. Natalie gave an interview to USA Today this week as part of her promotional tour for her upcoming film Vox Lux . The movie is about a teen who unexpectedly becomes a pop star, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that Natalie remarked on one of the biggest pop stars from her own teen years: “I remember being a teenager, and there was Jessica Simpson on the cover of a magazine saying ‘I’m a virgin’ while wearing a bikini, and I was confused,” she told the newspaper. “Like, I don’t know what this is trying to tell me as a woman, as a girl.” It was an odd (though not necessarily offensive) remark, and Jessica was quick to clap back: “@Natalieportman I was disappointed this morning when I read that I ‘confused’ you by wearing a bikini in a published photo taken of me when I was still a virgin in 1999,” Simpson wrote on Instagram. “As public figures, we both know our image is not totally in our control at all times, and that the industry we work in often tries to def8ine us and box us in,” she added. “However, I was taught myself, and honor the different ways all women express themselves,” she said. “Which is why I believed then, and believe now, that being sexy in a bikini is not synonymous with having sex.” “I have always embraced being a role model to all women to let them know that they can look however they want, wear whatever they want and have sex or not have sex with whomever they want. “The power lies within us as individuals.” Simpson concluded with a not-so-subtle allegation that Natalie is a hypocrite for making such comments despite her high-profile involvement with the Time’s Up movement. “I have made it my practice to not shame other women for their choices,” Simpson posted. “In this era of Times Up and the great work you have done for women, I encourage you to do the same.” Yeah, as much as we love Natalie, and as much as she may have intended no harm, we’re afraid Ms. Portman is gonna have to go ahead and take the L on this one. Jessica was a sex symbol in the late ’90s, a time in which young female pop stars were encouraged to dress and dance provocatively, all while insisting on their chastity and purity in interviews. It was a gross trend, but Jessica certainly wasn’t to blame for it, and she shouldn’t be forced to answer for it 20 years later. As a result of this misstep, Natalie will be forced to surrender half of her woke points and attend compulsory classes at the Lena Dunham Institute for Re-Wokening. Kevin Hart has been tapped to bring his unique brand of comedy to the Academy Awards stage this February. The actor/comedian announced the good news via his Instagram account earlier this evening, and needless to say, he’s over the moon to have been selected. “For years I have been asked if I would ever host the Oscars and my answer was always the same. I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s supposed to. I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars. I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time…To be able to join the legendary list of [hosts] that gave graced that stage is unbelievable. I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now. I want to thank my family/friends/fans for supporting me & riding with me all this time…I will be sure to make this years Oscars a special one. When she’s not shredding critics of her post-baby body , Twitter Queen Chrissy Teigen is busy being a parent. She recently shared a medical treatment that her infant son, Miles, is undergoing. Mom-shaming trolls crawled out of the woodwork to give her a hard time. Take a look at how she perfectly responded: On Monday, Chrissy Teigen dropped something of a bombshell about her young son, Miles, whom she shares with John Legend. “Baby miles getting fitted for a little helmet today for his adorable slightly misshapen head,” Chrissy tweeted. “So if you see pictures,” she wrote. “Don’t feel bad for him because he’s just fixing his flat.” Celebrities are always under a microscope — also, Chrissy shares a lot on social media. Fans would have noticed sooner or later. “And honestly,” Chrissy said. “He’s probably gonna be even cuter with it somehow.” “GUYS,” Chrissy wrote in all caps. “My baby bug got his head-shaping helmet today!” she announced. “Please don’t feel bad for him if you see photos,” she reminded her followers. (More realistically, she was telling her fans who had missed the first memo) “Be is a happy bug and we’re just fixing his flat,” she repeated. Chrissy then joked: “I have been told it’s too late for my head.” Baby skulls are not fully formed at birth. It takes months for the different plates — think of them almost like tectonic plates — to fully merge. In the mean time, there is cartilage in addition to bone, which makes the baby’s head malleable. Useful for childbirth, but if a baby keeps sleeping in one certain way, it can alter the baby’s skull shape as an adult. Chrissy and John are taking very responsible steps towards safely and painlessly helping their baby boy grow up with a symmetrical skull. Unfortunately, some people came out of the woodwork to mom-shame Chrissy for giving Miles a helmet. They jumped to all kinds of conclusions — and Chrissy didn’t stand for it. “Good morning trolls!” Chrissy announced on Tuesday. “Just a friendly reminder that you do not indeed know absolutely everything,” she wrote. This, for many of them, must have been new information. “Miles has been seeing a physiotherapist,” Chrissy clarified. “We didn’t just go straight to helmet.” Chrissy makes it clear that they tried other, less visible approaches to protect the shape of Miles’ skull. “We tried muscle work,” Chrissy shared. “And will continue.” Some of the trolls had bombarded her with insistence that having a 100% preventable lopsided skull is totally fine, actually . “Also your flat headed kid turned out fine,” Chrissy summarized in her post. “Yes yes yes I agree.” In other words, she’s not saying that trolls needed to do anything differently than what they did. More to the point, she wishes that mom-shamers would just shut up and go away. She also joked that other mom-shamers, who gave her a hard time about dancing with Luna, were right, that she could have “torn off” Luna’s arms. Chrissy explains why she said anything on the subject in the first place. “Just didn’t want you guys to see pictures and wonder,” she shared. “Not promoting anything,” she wrote. “Just sharing our story!” So it is not a product endorsement nor an incident of her telling people how to care for their lumpy-skulled babies. “Thank you,” Chrissy told the trolls. “Back to your bridge now.” That’s a hurtful stereotype. Some trolls live in bogs and others live in sewers. It’s 2018, Chrissy. Chrissy has been hounded by mom-shamers since she was pregnant with Luna. Seriously — people tweeted at her, insisting that she not eat cereal with artificial colors while pregnant. (Somehow, Luna did not pop out rainbow-colored, but she’s still pretty cute) There are genuinely terrible parents on this planet. Chrissy Teigen is not one of them. And yet some people continue to hound her and demand that she parent differently. Perhaps it is because she is known to engage on social media and they know that she’ll probably see it. Most bullies, at the end of the day, just want to feel like they made an impression. It makes them feel important or powerful.
