There was a car seat in the back seat but it wasn’t installed – considering the kid was “driving,” that makes sense. Hall, who reeked of alcohol, was unable to walk straight when police arrived. His blood alcohol level was said to be .25, which is more than three times the legal limit. P olice reportedly arrested another high-profile Black man for a DUI on Wednesday. Cops apprehended Pooch Hall , who starred on “The Game,” for driving under the influence of alcohol and felony child endangerment, according to TMZ . The statistics — which are conflicting and scarce — are still alarming when it comes to these arrests. More recent FBI data in 2016 showed a higher DUI arrest for Black people as compared to other races except for whites. There were 108,881 reported DUI arrests of African Americans, according to the bureau. The data on drinking-related traffic accidents and alcohol-impaired driving seems to also be mixed. Some statistics did show an overrepresentation of Blacks when it comes to those events, indicating the group faces a greater risk of potential injury and fatalities. Hall, unlike many other Black drivers who may drive drunk, and his 2-year-old son didn’t lose their lives or sustain any injuries. The actor is, however, reportedly in major trouble after having allegedly let his toddler child try to drive his vehicle because he was intoxicated. Witnesses had called 911 after seeing the toddler trying to hold the steering wheel while sitting in Hall’s lap. Their car veered off the road and did hit a parked vehicle, but they weren’t hurt. The actor, who had a reported blood alcohol level of .25, which is more than 3 times the legal limit, was taken to jail. Police set his bail at $100,000. The star’s wife took custody of their son after the incident. There’s a gender and political divide among millennials when it comes to casting a ballot for qualified nonwhite candidates, a new BuzzFeed News and Maru/Blue survey, reported on Thursday, found. One out of three men (36 percent) said they would prefer a white political candidate if all else was equal. Just 11 percent of women survey shared that view. Republicans, at 42 percent, admitted that they would choose a white candidate over an equally qualified nonwhite candidate, as compared to 22 percent of Democrats who agreed with them. Pollsters surveyed 1,006 millennials, aged 22 to 37, online. The poll ran from Sept. 21 to 24. (@shani_o) October 4, 2018 Decades after public school integration and the passage of civil rights legislation, many have wondered whether younger Americans are less racist than older generations. White millennials are not much different from generation x (born 1965 – 1980) or baby boomers (born 1946 – 1964) when it comes to explicit prejudice against African Americans, according to the Washington Post . Young whites expressed less prejudice on 4 out of 5 measures compared to older generations, but only by 1 to 3 percent, the Post’s analysis of data in 2015 found. A review in January of the University of Chicago’s GenForward Project survey of millennials by CBS News reinforced the Post’s analysis. One of the troubling findings of GenForward is that nearly half (48 percent) of white millennials believe that discrimination against white people has become as big a problem as discrimination against African Americans. Perhaps on a brighter side, the BuzzFeed survey showed that a majority of millennials disapproved of President Trump’s job performance. About 68 percent of them don’t like how he talks about Hispanic and Black people. However, that still leaves a sizeable minority who see no problem with the president’s racist attitude. Caitlyn Jenner’s own daughter accused her of betraying her family , but now it’s Cait’s turn to feel betrayed. See, Caitlyn’s rumored girlfriend recently characterized their relationship as strictly professional. According to a report, that’s really gotten under Cait’s skin … and frankly, it’s hurt her feelings. On October 3, 22-year-old Sophia Hutchins spoke to Jim Breslo on his podcast, Hidden Truth . Sophia very casually announced that she and Cait are not in a romantic or sexual relationship. She characterized the two of them as a pair of “business partners.” Considering that she and the 68-year-old Olympian have been seemingly joined at the hip for ages … that’s a surprise. How many business partners spend most of their time at the same house or going on vacations together? RadarOnline reports that Caitlyn is devastated that Sophia would say this. “Caitlyn’s heartbroken that Sophia didn’t send a loud and clear message,” an insider says. Cait is a reasonably private person about certain things — for a celebrity who is also a reality star, anyway. But apparently this really wounded her. The source says that Cait would have preferred to hear Sophia “professing her love for her and saying that they’re, in fact, romantic.” Cait is not just reportedly feeling hurt — she is also said to be a little confused. “Cait’s not sure why Sophia’s grandstanding,” the insider describes. It sounds like, in her mind, Sophia should have confirmed that they’re dating, or at least said nothing at all. “And,” the source continues, overall “she’s not happy with this interview.” Uh-oh. Cait and Sophia have been inseparable for a while now, but this apparently has Cait feeling used. “A piece of her feels used and taken advantage of,” and insider reports. That’s never a good feeling to have. “And,” the source continues. “She thought she’d never feel that way again ever since she left Kris [Jenner] and the Kardashians.” We can definitely see how that would be a sore sticking point for her. To make matters worse, the report says that Cait wants to lash out in response. “She’s hurt and wants to punish Sophia,” the insider claims. Sometimes, that’s a person’s first instinct, even when it relates to someone she loves. The source adds that she may do so “by taking away the credit cards she gave her and reevaluate their relationship.” This could get ugly. It sounds like Sophia may have grown accustomed to living large on Cait’s considerable fortune. “Caitlyn is spending an absolute fortune on Sophia,” the insider previously claimed to RadarOnline . “She’s constantly treating her to drinks and dinners at the nicest restaurants in town,” the source mentioned. “And,” the insider added, Cait “buys her jewelry and handbags all the time!” That sounds very nice … but potentially very expensive. “Sophia is using Caitlyn’s cash to deck out her wardrobe with designer clothes and get her hair and nails done every week,” the insider claimed. If this report is to be believed, this is costing enough to make a dent in even Caitlyn’s considerable fortune. “This is costing Caitlyn at least $50,000 each week!” the source announced. Cait is said to be worth about $100 million, but at that level of wealth, spending one two-thousandth of your net worth every week on someone else is … probably too much. And it would mean that Sophia has a lot to lose. We have to say that we find this report to be a little … suspect. As we said, Cait herself is private about certain things. She has been very reserved about her love life since her transition. It is extremely difficult to imagine that she, even if she and Sophia are dating as so many suspect, is demanding that they go public. And if they’re not in an open secret of a relationship, then this whole thing would be bogus. Nicolas Cage’s career has survived a number of bizarre rumors and scandals, but the latest allegations against the famously eccentric actor could mean that his acting days are over. According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Cage’s ex-girlfriend, Vickie Park, accused Cage of assaulting her while “severely intoxicated” at the SLASH Film Festival in Vienna last month. According to Park’s filing, Cage “abused” her on September 20. She attributed the actor’s behavior to a combination of alcohol abuse and mental illness. “I am already aware of his alcohol addiction, depression and mental illness as his mother is also currently still facilitated in mental ward,” Park wrote. Park says that in addition to that incident, she has been the victim of a sustained and targeted harassment campaign carried out by Cage’s ex-wife, Alice Kim. Park says she feels unsafe in her own home, adding, “I am afraid for my life because of the stalking and harassment of his jealous ex-wife Alice Cage.” According to Park, the harassment began immediately after she started dating Cage in June of 2017. Park claims Kim has gone to great lengths to undermine her relationship with Cage and to damage her reputation. “[Kim] stalks my Instagram page which I now had to make private because I am afraid of her/ she sends Nic messages about me — spreading lies and rumors about me all over Los Angeles and Las Vegas as well,” Park claims. In her increasingly bizarre filing, Park goes on to claim that she became unwillingly caught up in a bitter divorce battle when she started dating Cage: “I am afraid and distressed from their toxic relationship being projected onto me — physically and mentally,” she says. “Currently they are in a divorce battle where she is requesting more than $30 to 40,000 dollars a month solely for herself without signing a contract without documenting how much of the money is going to their son, Kal.” Unfortunately for Park, the judge in her case found insufficient evidence to grant her a restraining order. According to the judge’s ruling, the facts of the case, as presented by Park, “do not sufficiently show acts of violence, threats of violence, or a course of conduct that seriously alarmed, annoyed, or harassed [Vickie Park] and caused substantial emotional distress.” For their part, Cage and Kim issued the following joint statement through their lawyers: “Nicolas and Alice Cage categorically deny the absurd allegations listed in the filing of a temporary restraining order against Alice Cage, which was denied by the court.” We’ll bring you further updates on this situation as more information becomes available. Image via Christopher Polk/Getty Images Lamar Odom Allegedly Kidnapped Over Gambling Debt, Denies Rumor Lamar Odom has lived an incredibly traumatic life and it doesn’t appear that it has gotten much easier over the years. According to a report on RadarOnline , Odom was allegedly kidnapped by bookies who wanted the money that he owed. However it wasn’t just Lamar who was said to be taken, the men also held his girlfriend, Savanna Waldrop, and her 2-year-old daughter at gunpoint. The story goes that Lamar went to Portland, Oregon to visit Waldrop and told her he wanted to gamble but he needed a loan. Waldrop is said to have gotten $10,000 from local bookies and Lamar lost the money at the casino within 20 minutes of receiving the cash. Almost immediately, the bookies began to harass Lamar, following them to his hotel waited for him in the parking lot. Eventually the men are alleged to have kicked in the hotel room door and held Lamar, Waldrop and the daughter at gunpoint before taking him for ransom until he paid. The Radar report states that Odom was taken for two days and essentially “hung out” with his kidnappers, they even took him to a nightclub. After pawning a gold chain for $1,000, getting $1,500 from Waldrop and another $2,800 from his team, Lamar was released but still owes the men $5,000. All that said, Lamar’s manager and publicist both deny that any of this happened to EOnline : “The kidnapping is false, it’s a lie, it’s made up,” Odom’s manager Zoul El Fassi tells E! News. “He does know her. He’s not going to deny that but she was just a girl he used to party with.” Says publicist Eve Sarkisyan-Nunn: “We are aware of the false story circulating around regarding Lamar. Mischa Barton is about to go full circle. In a manner of speaking. The actress, of course, is best known for having starred as Marissa Cooper on the Fox sensation The OC back in 2003. The success of The OC inspired MTV to create Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County… which eventually spun off into The Hills… which is about to be revived by the cable network … … and which we’ve now learned will co-star Barton! Set to premiere some time in 2019, The Hills: New Beginnings will reunite original cast members, alongside their kids, friends and a few new faces, chronicling follow their personal and professional lives while they reside in Los Angeles. Barton will be making her reality television debut as a series regular on the highly-anticipated reboot. She’ll be joining Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Jason Wahler, Stephanie Pratt, Justin Bobby and Frankie Delgado on the program. Sadly, neither Lauren Conrad nor Kristin Cavallari will be coming back to the show that made them famous. (“She’s in a different place in her life,” a source has said of Conrad, adding: “But she wants everyone to enjoy themselves. She wishes everyone the best.”) Barton, meanwhile, ought to bring plenty of drama to New Beginnings. She hasn’t really had a starring role of any kind since she was killed off The OC — yet she has found herself in a few difficult/trying/headline-making situation. In January of 2017, for example, Barton was hospitalized for a mental evaluation after she neighbors witnessed her hanging over her backyard fence and rambling incoherently. She said something at one point about her mother being a witch and something else at another point about the world coming to an end. “Oh my God, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry!” she yelled while falling off said fence, according to witnesses. Barton later issued a statement in which she thanked the professionals who came to her aid, and in which she said she had been drugged just prior to the incident. “I would like to extend a big thanks of gratitude to the professionals at Cedars-Sinai for their great care of professionalism,” she said at the time, concluding: “This is a lesson to all young women out there. Be aware of your surroundings.” Just two months after this controversy engulfed Barton, she got swept up in a revenge porn scandal. The actress went on record about an ex-boyfriend secretly filming the pair having sex and then blackmailing Barton with the release of their video. A few weeks later, Barton appeared as a guest across from Dr. Phil and tried to clear up all the misperceptions of her out there. “One of the biggest misconceptions is that I’m a spoiled rich girl,” she said. “People find it convenient, they attach you to one particular thing. So I suppose that. And yeah, the fact that people think I’m crazy. That’s another good one.” We’ll get to find out first-hand when The Hills hits the air again next year.
