It looks like more hard times are ahead for Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra. According to Radar Online, the Baltierras have checked into an in-patient couple-oriented therapy program in a last-ditch effort to save their marriage. Catelynn has been to rehab several times over the course of the past two years, and while she's made progress with her mental health, insiders say she and Tyler both continue to struggle daily. Now, it seems they've decided that in order to make their marriage work, they'll both need to address their mental health issues with the help of professionals. Here's what we know about the situation thus far: 1. Better Days For years, Tyler and Catelynn were the most stable couple in all of the Teen Mom franchise. 2. Hard Times Sadly, a combination of difficult times, past trauma, and latent mental health issues all combined to put the Baltierras’ marriage to the test in a major way. 3. The Domino Effect Both Tyler and Catelynn have been diagnosed with various mental illnesses that are at least partially the result of their traumatic upbringings. 4. Tragedy Strikes When Catelynn suffered a miscarriage, the tragedy triggered a downward spiral that prompted her to check into rehab multiple times. 5. A Double-Edged Sword Tyler did his best to be a supportive spouse, but as is so often the case with this sort of thing, Catelynn’s illness and frequent absences eventually began to take a toll. 6. Stepping Up Tyler took care of the couple’s daughter and visited Catelynn in Arizona as often as possible. But eventually, it all became too much … View Slideshow
About a month ago, zookeepers very tentatively shared some exciting news: they were testing April the Giraffe’s droppings to discovery if she was pregnant. Update, folks: she is pregnant again! We can hardly contain our excitement! In case you get your news from Instagram rather than from, um, anywhere else, April the Giraffe’s official (verified with a blue check and everything) Instagram account shared this on Wednesday: “If you missed our big announcement on the Today Show, here it is!” Today ‘s ratings are better than they’ve been in years after Matt Lauer’s departure, but just in case you missed the news, they wanted to make sure that you’d see it. “Click below to find out April’s big news!” The link that they included elaborated on the big news. Today reports that April the Giraffe is pregnant again . This will be her fifth child. April is 16 years old. The Animal Adventure Park resident captivated America last year as she struggled to give birth to Tajiri, her son. Her birth was livestreamed and seemed like it would take forever, and became a hot topic of conversation around water coolers nationwide. Tajiri (pictured behind a human in the photo above) is happy and healthy and now stands at a whopping 10 feet tall. Jordan Patch, who owns Animal Adventure Park, broke the news on Today . “The results are in,” Patched teased. “And we are having a baby!” By “we,” he of course means April. Savannah Guthrie could not resist asking: “Who’s the daddy?” (I want to roast her over it but, honestly, when I first read the news, my first thought was the same ridiculous question) “What show is this?” Patch asked with a laugh, as if implying that it was a gotcha question or perhaps that he had accidentally wandered onto the set of Maury. “Of course,” Patch said of April’s baby daddy. “It is Oliver the Giraffe, the same father as Tajiri.” Now that people are reassured that April isn’t some floozy, America can look forward to April’s next childbirth. But … don’t hold your breath. Though the average giraffe’s gestation period is about 15 months, Patch mentions that “April likes to go 16, 17, 18 … 19 months.” The pregnancy was only confirmed in recent weeks, so … it could be a while. That said, you can pencil in another anxiety-riddled giraffe livestream birth for some time in the spring of 2019. Probably, anyway. Pregnancy can be even more mysterious for giraffes than it is for humans. Fortunately, the internet is filled with lots of cute animals to tide us over. We have another Real Housewives franchise cast shake-up. Just hours after we confirmed that Kenya Moore has left the Atlanta version of this program admist a messy contract negotiation, we can now also announce the following: Carole Radziwill is finished with Bravo as well. The 54-year-old, who not everyone realizes is an award-winning journalist and best-selling author, told People Magazine on Wednesday evening that she’s departing the cable network hit. She joined the program during Season 5. “After six seasons on Bravo’s RHONY, I have decided to return to what I do best – journalism and producing,” Radziwill said today, adding in more detail: “I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind. “My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament. Radziwill came on board as a Real Housewife in 2012, along with Heather Thomson and Aviva Drescher. It may seem hard to believe now to those who follow this franchise closely, but Carole quickly became good friends with SkinnyGirl founder Bethenny Frankel in Season 8. Their friendship has soured significantly, however. Radziwill and Frankel went at it very hard , in fact, on the most recent episode of this reality smash. You can watch The Real Housewives of New York City online via the following video in order to see what transpired: Watch The Real Housewives of New York City Season 10 Episode 15 Online In her statement to People, Radziwill concluded with a combination of sincerity and humor: “I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind. “I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy. Next.” For those unaware, Radziwill really does have an impressive journalistic resume. She was stationed in Iraq back in 1991 and was embedded with an infantry unit of the 101st Airborne Division in Afghanistan in 2003. In 2006, Radziwill signed with Glamour magazine to write a monthly column titled Lunch Date. Carole also sold her first novel, The Widow’s Guide to Sex & Dating, in a six-figure deal to Holt Publishing. It was released on February 11, 2014. For her work, Radziwill has won three Emmys and a Peabody. In the wakeof her departure, meanwhile, Radziwill left a very simple note on Instagram. It reads as follows: Radziwill’s husband Anthony, died in 1999 after a five-year battle with cancer. She’s currently in an on-again, off-again relationship with chef and filmmaker Adam Kenworthy. Source: Jamie McCarthy / Getty Tekashi 69 ‘s name seems to pop up wherever there’s trouble. Vic Mensa recently stated in an interview with LA’s REAL 92.3 that 69 stole his whole sound from Chicago Drill rap… And Tekashi’s number one supporter, DJ Akademiks decided to chime in. Vic then went on to invite the rainbow haired Brooklyn rapper to “see me with the hands” and threatened Ak saying, “it’s on sight when I see you.” It didn’t take long for Tekashi to chime in with the most disrespectful comment ever. But why all the hostility between the two emcees and the Internet personality? Hit the flip to see the beef breakdown. via GIPHY
Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty The completion of any relationship leaves behind an uncomfortable gaping space that echoes against its own empty caverns until it’s filled again. Our significant others become our routine–our days, our hours, our lunches, our mornings, and one day, after many bad days, that partner becomes a habit we must force ourselves to break. The familiarity of this painful cycle was perfectly captured in the season 2 finale of HBO’s hit show ‘Insecure.’ We were willing companions on the Issa & Lawrence relationship ride and then, abruptly, the gears of the rollercoaster track stopped mid-way uphill. Apologies and fantasy sequences wrapped up their fictional romance with a bow, yet somehow, we want more from their union. Show creator Issa Rae’s decision to not bring Lawrence along for season 3 is a profound and necessary character development choice. Issa literally set her past on fire (RIP to that apartment) and is actively making moves to incorporate Daniel (Y’Lan Noel) into her permanent ho-tation. Despite the audience’s devout worship of #LawrenceHive, where would his character fit into Issa’s refreshed life plot? And lest us not forget, Issa is the focal point of this show. No matter how wrapped up we get in the storylines of Molly, Dro, etc, they are all orbiting planets in the Issa universe. I respect the creative decision to keep the focus on Issa as a woman versus her ancillary (and rotating) male counterparts. Lawrence was not a co-star in this story, and we ultimately have to respect Issa’s fictional ex fading into the background just like our own exes would (or should!) “We want to stay as true to life as possible. They had a great conversation at the end of season two and it was just about like, hey, she’s moving on Daniel, sometimes we have those conversations,” Rae told Vulture . “You never see the exes again. And it’s okay! You gotta explore life without Lawrence.” Source: Paul Zimmerman / Getty And maybe we would all benefit from going no contact with ‘our personal Lawrence.’ Characters existing beyond their expiration date tend to be toxic on and off screen. Research shows that frequent contact wth an ex is associated with decreased satisfaction with your current partner over time. Studies even correlate people who stay in contact with their exes with psychopathic personality disorders such as narcissism. Psychology aside, two things literally cannot occupy the same space at the same time, that includes the past and present. Even though most exes do the ‘make up to break up’ dance for years, maybe there is a lesson to be gleaned from Issa’s decisiveness. Source: Bennett Raglin/BET / Getty People can say what they want about Kelis , but she’s out here living her best life — and she ain’t going back and forth with you n*****. The singer has been more candid in 2018 than she has been throughout her 20 year career. Back in Apirl, she bravely revealed that her ex-husband Nas use to be emotionally and physically abusive — which opened her up to a whole new level of scutiny on social media. You know the boys didn’t take kindly to someone dissing their brother Nasir. Listen if Kelis was serious about the abuse why didnt she take photos of the abuse. Second when your asking for a increase in child support and bring up domestic violence out of nowhere it makes your claim look suspect. So no I don't believe he did it. Dont @ me! https://t.co/8Xx4lP5Y8T — MostValuablePoet (@RBGliterature) June 15, 2018 You dont have to believe Kelis but you can shut the fuck up — Aluta (@Cue_Aluta) April 27, 2018 But despite the backlash and emotional trauma she’s had to face over the years, Kelis still seems to keep that same light energy, while inspiring others to the same. And if you’re not lit like this at least once this Summer, you’re not living your best life. Sorry. via GIPHY
